Head

Hair
Yuno’s hair is pink, a typical color for sweet and cute girls or those that appear to be so. She’s the latter, but let’s not to get into that. The shade is a light one, I wish it was a tad darker but it’s not bad. It’s a bit lighter in the anime, but not by much. However, Yuno’s hair is most noteworthy because of how unique her hairstyle is: She has two long bangs on the sides of her hair akin to a hime cut only she has red ribbons near their tips, and she has twintails BUT they come from behind her head and look really cute. I really like Yuno’s hair because of how unlike the standard it is in a good way. We see her with her hair down occasionally and it’s not bad either. Her bangs aren’t blunt but at least she has them, they’re the typical “shorter near the eyes and longer in middle” anime bangs. Like, seriously, they’re crazy common. Not bad, but still.
Grade: B

Eyes
Her eyes are also pink, which I like more than pink hair. The shade is also similar for bonus points, with the manga version being slightly darker and hence better. The anime also uses the “color circles” eye type I really like, while the manga is similar but not the same. The shape is closer to a tareme which is a shame, though it’s not a huge deal as it’s not entirely round and she has nice serious scenes where she half-closes her eyes. Finally she never wears glasses at any point, shame.
Grade: A-

Build
While MAL gives Yuno measurements there seems to be no confirmation of them from Japanese Wikipedia or any other Japanese source, unless the Mirai Nikki wiki knows something no one else does not sure if they count. 159 cm sounds about right for her at least, so they aren’t crazy or anything, she looks about that height and is about the same height than Yukiteru her love interest. Most of her body isn’t bad, she has a mostly flat stomach and her legs in the manga are kinda nice for her age. However, there is a rather appalling problem: Her chest. Middle school girls aren’t that busty, hell, they aren’t busty at all! Japanese ones at least. Thankfully the show doesn’t fixate on this like a Silver Link series so it’s not terrible, but there is still a moment where she somehow loses her top and hugs Yukiteru from behind to make most viewers green with envy while I was green with vomit. Well, okay, it wasn’t THAT bad, but I didn’t like it. At least, unlike with 99% of busty girls, I got a small reprieve in the form of a post-episode joke where Murmur tried to make Yuno smaller for reasons and, after making her a baby and tiny in her first two tries, in the third SHE SHRUNK HER CHEST! It was simply beautiful, seeing her useless flab vanish and turn into a perfect DFC. If only that had gone to her butt! And yes, I’m aware a fellow blogger didn’t like that scene and honestly I am very sorry for him, but for the love of Arceus, I just had to deal with a freaking chest expansion season where like five shows had scenes of girls getting their chest needlessly engorged for no reason other than driving me crazy, and last year had about a million series give or take where lolis would suddenly become cowy adults for no real reason, which included TWO eternal lolis. I think after ALL of that I deserve to celebrate a case of the opposite happening. As a bonus, while I didn’t like that part where she became tiny she’s briefly shown as a giantess at the end of the manga, and that is more up my alley so one thing for other!

Butt
While Yuno’s chest is large for her age her butt isn’t as outstanding. Sure, it’s not too bad and we get some decent shots of it, but overall it’s not impressive. Eh, it happens.

Clothes
Like most students Yuno is shown quite a bit in her school uniform. It’s a typical sailor uniform, slightly dark blue but otherwise nothing we haven’t seen a lot of times. The red ribbon is nice at least. She also wears some regular clothes, nothing worth of note besides a denim miniskirt. Get that off now. They’re tight enough to avoid pantyshots but not tight enough to show the shape of the butt, making them nearly as bad as a pareo or so. To be fair it’s not like you could have pantyshots in most anime while something like freaking coverhair is fine because the world is rotten, but in the other hand Super Sonico proved a big enough ass will override the second issue. Oh well, I said Yuno is kinda weak there for a reason. Other than that she wears some alternate costumes, but not that many. There are a few different bikinis but they’re bikinis. She’s briefly seen in gym clothes when Minene first appears but sadly she wears shorts and not buruma. A memorable scene has her wearing a beautiful wedding dress for a pretended wedding with Yukiteru and acting adorable during it. She spends several chapters in a black dress that looks great on her and is probably her best outfit. For plot reasons she wears a cloak during the endgame. While not exactly a costume she also walks around in her bra and panties when she keeps Yukiteru in a femdom situation, err, tied to a chair and living hidden from everyone. She also wears once a bunny fursuit, but thankfully it’s not for THAT kind of behavior; it’s just so she can innocently stalk Yukiteru and shoo away a cute meganekko away from him, something far more wholesome than the alternative.

Mind

Personality
Yuno is yandere. I mean, sure, we all know that, but it’s the main point of her character and being one of the most popular yanderes it needs to be emphasized. She got me into yanderes even.

Anyway Yuno’s family isn’t her biological one since she was adopted, though for some insane reason the orphanage had her umbilical cord. Her family wanted her to be the best at everything ever, mostly her mom who kept her locked in a cage when she’d misbehave. She eventually just got fed of this and locked her parents in said cage and let them die. The day they died is when she met Yukiteru for the first time and developed an attachment to him because he was nice to her for once. She even said she’d marry him, which he didn’t take seriously. Yuno is chosen as one of the possible successors for Deus Ex Wakamoto, which gives her one of the “Future Diaries” the show is named after. Since they’re all personality-based she gets one that tells her everything Yukiteru does every ten minutes, written her way. Yukiteru’s tells him everything that happens around him EXCEPT what happens to him, so together they’re unstoppable she says. Sadly Yukiteru spends the vast majority of the series blowing her off and refusing to collaborate with her despite the many, many, many times she bails him. It’s like the kid lacks basic pattern recognition and can’t realize after the third time or so Yuno is totally right and not listening to her gives him trouble that maybe, just maybe, following her pace would be the best idea. Nope, he keeps ditching her all the damn time. And that’s why she had to tie him up to a chair, because he was too dumb to listen. Ironically the one time he truly listens to her the fanbase roared at both of them for that. Sigh. That totally was Akise’s fault, too. I won’t go into much detail since Mirai Nikki is a pretty good show, but let’s just say Yuno and Yukiteru go through a lot of crap together and their love wins at the end, beyond mortal limits. It’s awesome. I think.

From this you can tell her personality is mostly devoted to Yukiteru, the only boy who ever showed her affect. Poor Yuno. Besides that she’s quite smart even if her mom only wanted MORE from her, but not just book smart but also quite cunning and wins most of their battles with trickery and good plans. Her abilities are so good she can tell a tomato got poison in it since it’s just a wee tad bit slightly heavier! She’s also crazy strong too, surviving a lot of seemingly deadly blows and chopping off hands like butter. There’s a reason for this mind you, but for now let’s go with Mirai Nikki being technically a shounen manga. But seriously, her love of Yukiteru beyond all bounds is what defines her best, and the reason I love her so much. Sorry for my bias!
Grade: A+

Libido
She’s a yandere and one of the most popular, what do you think? Hell, she even made me love yandere, so clearly Yuno is good at this too, with her constant devotion for Yukiteru. The best part is when she’s got him tied to a chair and she feeds him while in her bra and panties, so delicious! She is ashamed at one point to pee almost in front of him where he can hear her, but I guess that’s normal. Sadly there is one bad scene that while not crippling prevents her from reaching a top score: When they have sex and Yuno is on BOTTOM. What. Wait, no, hold on the phone. Yuno is assertive and chases after Yukiteru for pretty much the entire show and Yukiteru just follows her drift at best. Why is she bottom? It makes no sense, it’s like the author thought “Durr anything but missionary is evil if you have cowgirl you’ll go to hell” or something. Lame. It says a lot damn near every fanart has Yuno on top. At least it’s just that once, but dammit. There’s also a gross scene where she nearly gets gangraped and inspired some terrible doujinshi. Finding a good Yuno doujinshi is hard, like with all girls who top. Boo.

Age
Yuno is 14 and in middle school. That alone would mean an awesome score from me, but Yuno is also non-aging and thus even BETTER. Yes, I’m a pervert. We also see her briefly as a child in flashbacks and the like, but that’s not a huge factor. The closest to a flaw is technically the Yuno we see for most of the shot is 16 and thus a bit older than Yukiteru, but that’s not very important and besides by the end he becomes 10000 years older while she is still the same so it kind of evens out. Don’t ask.
Grade: A+

Voice
Tomosa Murata needs more roles! Seriously, besides Yuno she only did a minor girl in Legend of the Redundant Heroes and a very minor character in Sengoku Collection. And yet she was incredible as Yuno, her voice was cute but not overly so and fit Yuno very well, plus she got the crazy parts like the famous Yandere Trance scene perfectly, and I personally found her “Yukkii” adorable! Hell, I also love Yuno gave Yukiteru this nickname as it’s cutesy and sweet and fits Yuno’s devotion very well. Sadly it seems official translations don’t get it and change it to a generic “Yuki” instead that fails to capture her love, boo!

Yuno: I won’t let you take Zettai from me! *takes a hatchet and runs at Katja, but she dodges it by moving a bit to the side* How did you do that? *keeps axing at Katja, but she dodges them all* This makes no sense, I am a main character!

Katja: And I’m AGILE! *sneaks past Yuno and unties Zettai* Only six knots on each arm and leg? Pshaw. Let’s go, slave! *holds Zettai’s hand*

Yuno: No way! *throws the hatchet at Katja, but she misses once more* Unfair!

Katja: Maybe. But I can’t win in a straight fight, so I’m taking my leave now. Do svidaniya. *pulls Zettai and all three run away as fast as they can*

Yuno: Zettai, you may have escaped… But you shall be mine one day… Wait, I can go after them right now! *does so*
