ANIME NEWS: First 'JoJo' TV anime series to premiere in October

Hirohiko Araki's "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" manga will premiere as an animated TV series in October as part of 25th anniversary celebrations of the manga’s first serialization.
The owners of the franchise announced at a news conference at Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills complex on July 5 that a video game Dell 1520 called "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle" is also in the works.
Araki, whose work is also being showcased in the Hirohiko Araki JoJo Exhibition 2012, attended the news conference, alongside Shueisha Inc. President Marue Horiuchi and Gucci Japan CEO Christophe de Pous
Gucci hosted a special exhibition dedicated to Araki at its outlet in Tokyo's Shinjuku district last year.
A trailer for "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation" was screened at the venue. Details about the director, production staff members, animation studio, voice cast members and broadcaster have not been released.
The "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle"m911g video game will be sold for the PlayStation 3 by Namco Bandai Games Inc.
The original manga series started its run in 1987 in the Shonen Jump weekly comic magazine published by Shueisha.
It was adapted into a straight-to-video anime series in 1993. Another home video series and a feature film adaptation, Dell 1500 "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood," followed in the 2000s.
The new anime will be the first animated TV series for the franchise.
