Anime Relations: Death Note
Hi, everyone!

Well, Seeing as how it's been over a year since my last blog entry, I decided to start all over again from scratch. This new blog will probably be updated constantly. Probably twice a week or more. But there's a catch: I'm going on deployment, so this is the second to last blog entry for 8 more months.

So, let's get re-acquainted. My name is Joey. I've been in the US Navy for 4 years, now. I've been watching anime on and off since I joined, pretty much. My first anime was Death Note. I think it's definitely a great show to get people acquainted with this wonderful method of entertainment. Very easy to get into for native westerners. After I completed Death Note, I more or less watched through all the mainstream stuff I could find just so I could ease myself into it. I watched Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha, Dragon Ball Z, Cowboy Bebop and more. The 3 years that followed completely immersed me in eastern culture and philosophy. I am learning japanese, learning recipes in eastern cuisine and I've even converted to buddhism. Anime has become a life changer for me.

I went through a few phases where I quit watching altogether to play video games or enjoy other pursuits, but now my plate is completely covered in anime and all the dressings. For deployment, I have set myself up with about 20 full series, and I have even more pre-ordered on amazon, to be sent to my ship when they release. But that is all reserved for after deployment.

I am still a con-virgin. It seems like my ship just hates staying in port when there's a convention going on, so I will most certainly look into attending every convention possible when I get back and get my discharge.

Well, I guess that's it for now. Before I leave for deployment, I will post another blog discussing a few series I've seen recently. Have a great day!
