Feel the FLOW!
Anime Relations:
Taichi Senjimon, Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Zexal
So, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal....its not too bad. Premisewise, I think its probably better than Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - which, while the execution wasn't too-too bad and dealt with interesting problems (as interesting as they get in a card game set in a slum, I guess) and was a bit DARK at least. Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal is MUCH brighter - a nice, shiny future. The lead is a bit annoying - granted, he has the most to learn and grow as a character but he's kinda hardheaded and annoying; he tries hard but he's not purehearted like Yugi where he knew to do what was right or whatever - no, this kid has to be convinced of everything ALL THE TIME. I do like the future-style Augmented Reality nature of the game now though - its right on the button with today's videogames (it'll be interesting to see if that makes a differnce in the inevitable home console versions and toys.) On a related note, Tai Chi Chasers is actually pretty good - its very by-the-numbers Boys/Collecting/Adventure/Cards/Chinese mythology show but it is surprisingly not bad for all that. Its light, but not goofy - which is nice.
Also, new Yamato series. Looks good; though, I'll always prefer Matsumoto's designs.
