Concluding impressions: The Skullman
Anime Relations: The Skull Man
At some points 'The Skullman' was a bit of a chore to watch, but the last three episodes were excellent, impressively disintegrating into murky chaos. A darker story than earlier episodes suggested; it ended ambiguously, with wave after wave of death and destruction. Little heed is paid to the innocent; civilians are mown down by tanks, while others literally transform into monsters and reek bloody murder on anyone unlucky enough to be in seeing distance. Never going to be a truly great series, but more of an interesting diversion, finishing up like anime's answer to 'Revenge of the Sith'!
