Anime Relations: Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora
Earlier I criticized the art style of Natsu no Sora, but I guess I've more or less grown used to it (though I cringe every time they turn their little deformed heads - it looks horrendous). I'm sorry to say though that the story was just disappointing. Lame. The drama came out of nowhere, and fizzled without any kind of satisfying resolution.

It was an enjoyable watch, still, dreamy, cute, for most part very feel-good. A weak-sauce version of the original Somedays Dreamers, or Beck, perhaps (even though Beck has about a million times more drama than Natsu no Sora...).

I guess this amounts to no recommendation at all. Not saying you shouldn't watch it, not saying you should. Watch an episode. If you don't instantly like it, there's nothing of significance waiting for you down the rabbit hole. What you see is what you get.

Yes, it does. It was a surprise to discover that they had replaced the entire cast - it's still the same universe, same magic school system and so on, but really no overlap in the cast at all. Overall though I'd say the atmosphere is still much the same.

I was enjoying the first season and I do plan on picking this anime up sooner or later. I liked how it had this mellow and comfortable feeling to it, such a pleasant watch. Does it still have this feeling despite the flaws you point out?

I dropped this one early. It had some pretty backgrounds but Kumichi Yoshizuki's character designs really went to waste as they oversimplified them for the anime.
