Mach GoGoGo
Yes, my latest update to my watched anime list is an episode of "Speed Racer"... Actually what I watched was the first episode of "Mach Go! Go! Go!" that came with a tribute CD that was released in Japan. A tribute CD? Yes. Imagine an acapella version of the OP song. Or a reggae version. Of course there is the obligatory remix version.

Yeah, good ol' "Speed Racer"... There were two attempts (of which I know) so far in my country to air this series and both (?) failed/were abridged, the first one in the early 70s and especially that one is historical/quite the Legend: The respective TV Station (in)famously cancelled the Broadcast because of Parents/Moralists' etc. complaints & concerns about the 'violent' content (A fate it shared with several Cartoon Shows like Looney Tunes/Porky Pig among others) and this in turn led to something of a Generation Conflict between kids and their Guardians.Then in the 90s, it came back on Free/Cable TV with a different Dub but probably still not all Episodes. *sighs* Well, I guess some people never learn... |
