Hellsing
Alucard is a badass, plainly put. The story is good, but a bit too short. Ten more episodes or even seven more probably would've helped this out in that respect. It seemed sort of rushed.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Great anime. Starts off cute, and then quickly becomes bloody with a great sense of mystery and horror. They initially confuse you after the first five episodes, but this is part of the story. It's recommended you watch this one and the second season to fully understand the plot.

Soul Eater
Takes place in "Death City" in an academy dedicated to Technicians wielding humans that can transform into weapons. The main goal is to collect 99 pre-Kishin (a powerful kind of demon) souls and 1 witch soul to cause their weapon to go through a transformation into a "Death Scythe", a weapon used by Shinigami (literally, the god of death) to defend Death City against the rise of Kishin. A unique and quirky cast of characters makes for a very enjoyable series, and the villains are equally enjoyable.

Toradora!
One of the best romance/slice of life animes I've ever seen. The characters are likable, their development and reasoning is realistic, and their quirks are laughable and enjoyable. You'll fall in love with the characters.

Full Metal Panic!
An oldie I once watched mid-way through the series on accident with a friend. Very good, the characters are fun. The storyline is enjoyable, and so are the characters. Takes a military/mecha genre and mixes it enjoyably with the highschool life genre of anime.
