Ikoku Meiro no Croisée The Animation

The atmosphere, the background music, and more! 

A girl goes to another country. She learns their way of life, language and culture. There are characters who are interest about other countries lifestyles too.  

A person comes from Japan to Europe and they end up dealing with the cultural differences between their country and the one they are visiting. On top of this the people around them learn about the cultural differences too. 

Both deal with a plucky young girl finding her way in world that is new to her -- a new country in Ikoku Meiro no Croisée, and a new family in Usagi Drop. Though contextually quite different, their shared slice-of-life approach and fondness for warm and fuzzy feelings (for the characters and viewers both!) ensure they have a similar pleasant and charming feel throughout. 

It has the same style of music and gives you the same feeling that you are in another capital of one of Europe's countries. It also relaxes you and could be placed in a new genre together with Aria and Ristorante Paradiso. 

Sato Junichi doing what he does best -- making series that heal your heart. If you like one of these sweet, touching, easygoing, heartwarming series, I am fully confident you will love the other as well! 

A young girl and a guy in the 18-20 range live/work together while facing off against threats of their workplace being shut down. In Kobato's case, Kobato and Fujimoto are neighbors and work together at a children's nursery whose owner has debt issues. In Ikoku Meiro no Croisee's case, Yune is Claude's live-in maid at a signboard shop in the Galerie du Roy where a lot of small, privately owned shops are gradually (or severely) losing business to new, larger businesses in the area. 

Both are set in the Victorian Era in Europe.  

Both Anime give the reviewer a slice of Japanese culture and they provide for a great learning experience that can likely stand the test of time because they both deal with parts of the culture that come from the history, not modern fads. The girls in the Anime are also both charming. 

A quite similar feel and atmosphere on the main character although Ikoku Meiro no Croisée has a more developed story. 

- Romeo no Aoi sora takes place in 19th century Milan, Italy. - Ikoku Meiro no Croisee takes place in 19th century Paris, France. So they have similar settings where everything happens. - In both of these series the protagonist is a young child that for some reason has to leave their home city to arrive at famous but for themselves previously unknown, huge city. They start getting to know the new city, while exciting events start to take action. - Both of the series take great focus on the little, simple but joyous things in life. These anime clearly want to highlight that the simplest things can often be the most beautiful things and that something very small can bring such huge amounts of joy to someone. Differences: - RNAO has more action and excitement, while IMNC has more of a calm, relaxing and soothing rhythm. - RNAO concentrates on deep friendship and loyalty and morals, while IMNC concentrates more to the concept of a young man taking care of a little girl and to the girl experiencing new things. - RNAO has more characters, while IMNC only has about one handful of them. Both are extremely beautiful and sweet shows, so if you like one, you very potentially might like the other.  read more 

The atmosphere of both anime are utterly the same. The sense of a father figure with both heroines being very young, innocent, and pure. Heart warming anime with moral of goodness inside this world. If you like one of these anime, there is no way will not like the other.

Both anime have similar theme in regards to a young and slightly naive character that is accepted into a loving environment. Sadly Ikoku has a much cuter main character. 

The main girls in both shows are very similar in looks, personality and life circumstances. Both are set in olden-times. Both will give you a bad case of diabeetus because they're just so very sweet. 

Both slice of life Is good, The story is light and easy to understand Both are very calming to fill in spare time 

-Both are historical -Clash between Japanese culture and occidental culture (in "Ikoku Meiro no Croisée" this is much more significant aspect) -MOE 

Both shows include a young girl under the care of a man who is not her father. There is also a shopping district in both that is very important to the characters and is often the setting for the show. In addition there is a department store that acts as a rival to the shopping district. There are some romance elements in both, but they don't really go anywhere in either. Yoshinaga-san'chi no Gargoyle has more humor and action, but Ikoku Meiro no Croisée is cuter. Both are heartwarming.  

Ikoku Meiro no Croisee and Gochuumon wa Usagi are incredibly similar. Both are about a young girl coming to live with strangers in a shop within a French-themed society. They have fun and build friendships as they explore this new environment, while also learning about the trade that the shop specializes in. Both also show(in varying degrees) the many differences between traditional Western and Japanese culture. They are very sleepy and happy slice of lifes that are not centralized around school as most other young girl slice of lifes are. In Ikoku Meiro no Croisee, the main character is a young Japanese girl in the 1800's who comes to live with a blacksmith. In Gochuumon wa Usagi she is a young blond who comes to live and study in a French-esque town. The key difference between the two is that Ikoku Meiro no Croisee is historic(taking place in the 1800's), while Gochuumon wa Usagi takes place in the modern day. read more 

Luke and Claude are very similar in that they are both dedicated to work (blacksmith) and are extremely stubborn. Both have a small girl who helps the blacksmith. 

OK, I will admit, at first, these two anime may not have anything in common, but once you dig deeper, you may see these two have more in common than you could ever imagine. Both anime have a female lead that is unfamiliar with their current setting (Yune with living in Paris and Hazumu with being a girl now) but still have a keen positive outlook on life and care for the people around them. Both characters do take time adjusting to their situation, but it's not painful to watch and it hardly takes up any screen-time that could be, and is used to advance the story. The characters in each are both very likable and relateable to the extent that they're almost human. You can actually feel them going though their rough times and their not so rough times and it's just beautiful to watch. The animation is just captivating to look at in both. The animators did a really good job at animating the scenery and characters in both so that it gives off a nice feel to them The music in both is perfect, because it sets the mood and fits the atmosphere in both, and it sounds harmonious to what's going on in both. To top all of that off, both just feel good to watch. It gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside you to watch either anime, like you did something good read more 

Despite the difference in atmosphere, both stories feature a girl who attends to her master who is a merchant. Along the way, she also learns about his trade and develops a mutual understanding of one another. 

Although these animes have very different plots they have some things in common: - One of the protagonists is a child where the other is a teenager. - Both focus on the protagonists trying to get along and the heroine which is from a different country, tries to learn how to live in the country of the hero and adapt herself and know her surroundings. - The hero seems harsh at first but he likes the heroine a lot. - The hero was abruptly separated from a girl that was very dear to him in the past and the heroine slowly heals his heart. - The heroine really enjoys to sing.  read more 

They both have heart warming naive girls as protagonists and a "tough" blonde guy that helps her. Both have France references and both are very cute anime~~~ 

While Ikoku Meiro no Croisee is not a Romance, the two main female characters share the same timid personality. The story lines are also very fluffy and built around the slice of life concept. 

Both are slice of life stories about close-nit communities in a small shopping gallery. Nothing special to them, but they do give the feeling of family between people with no actual family relations. Tamako Market's community is ridiculously kind, while Ikoku Meiro no Croisée is a little more cautious and distant. However, both feature friendly people who are just trying to get by in life.  

First of all both Tohru and Yune are really similar. They are hardworking, carrying, stubborn, etc... Apart from that both of them live in house with men where they do house chores. Also Claude is really similar to Kyo in the way he behaves towards Yune, being cold at first and then finally accepting her in a rather shy way. 

What's more similar than a guy taking care of a little girl? One is more shoujo than the other, but booth very good. 

They are both very cute with a calm story that is about someone that is adapting to a new situation 

in both anime we see the collision of classic japanese & european cultures in the beginnin' of XX century, overcoming of barries of misunderstanding & cute romantic story 

Iwai looks REALLY similar to the little girl in this anime when Iwai had her hair cut for the first time really short in like the first or second episode also the art style is kind of similar note they are completely different in plot and the tone of Dansai Bunri No Crime Edge is much more dark, Ikoku Meiro no Croisée is much more light and happy of an anime 

Both of them give off a relaxed, somewhat calm atmosphere which magically draws in the watcher.
