Simliar animation, lots of random crazy funny moments, but the pervertedness is a few more clicks up the scale than FLCL 

those two have many, many mindfuck-moments, it isn't really an anime who can watch anyone (some could even barf) the animations are often cartoon-like, the storyline is very weird and the characters are mad... more than mad, just mindfuck! for people, who are sometimes high, and those ones, who aren't epileptics surely a commendations 

Same action and comedy styles. 

What these two have in common is their lack of boundries. Both go places and do things that will leave your jaw on the floor. The writers of both series were really on the ball when it come to maign dialigue which is nothing short of hilarious. Plenty of action and side splitting comedy with just a touch of drama to move the plot along; a pefect combination. 

Dead Leaves is like FLCL on a lot more drugs.  

Same humor, same crazy characters and both are fucking insane. 

If you liked Dead Leaves, you'll like the same sort of crazy energy and action that's found all over FLCL. On the flip side, if you liked FLCL for it's heart, for it's smart usage of energy and action to tell a story about youth, responsibility, innocence lost, and for it's ability to transcend genre and medium to tell a compelling literary story, then Dead Leaves is not for you. both have a unique style of animation and both have over the top humor. These are the kinds of animes that you don't take seriously and are best enjoyed watching with friends while getting wasted. :)  

If your into chaotic action and humor with an underlying story of epic proportions then you would be well served with either series. 

First of all, they both have a similar animation style. They both are really crazy, with no apparent logic or storyline. Aaand... both are really funny xD 

If you want something random, try this on for size. 

Both are crazily animated. Wild characters. Crazy and random storyline. 

If you thought Fooly Cooly was a wild trip then you better prepare yourself, Dead Leaves takes Fooly Cooly's craziness and multiplies it tenfold, you'll finish Dead Leaves confused yet satisfied.  

Both are fucking crazy and gets the blood pumping 

Production I.G. was part of the FLCL Production Committee. About 3 years after FLCL, Production I.G. made Dead Leaves, which inherits some of FLCL's crazy spirit and energetic visuals. Retro's TV head seems like a Canti reference. 

Same creators, both have crazy random action with hard-to-follow stories. The difference is, Dead Leaves is the wrong way of approaching this type of animation while FLCL does a much better job. Everything about Dead Leaves is repulsive and juvenile (sex, fart, poop jokes everywhere) while FLCL retains some class. Dead Leaves feels like it's trying too hard to be random and edgy, while FLCL feels like its craziness is at least motivated by the characters and story. Either way, this is true of both: you'll either love it or hate it.

FLCL and Dead Leaves are more or less the same stile of anime. Both are fast, crazy and nutty.  

Psychedelic animation and an abundance of robots 

Both have crazy art styles, action scenes, and unexplainable events. Over the top, over the top, over the top. 

Extremely fast-paced action, vivid colors. 

Both are crazy, trippy, sci-fi comedies with fast pacing when you don´t really know what they are about but you can really enjoy them. Both have random as well as some perverted moments. 

Both are insanely wacky anime with very sporadic animation. Dead Leaves animation is much weirder and harder to get used to. Both have no lack of comedy and are pretty funny. Both can be pretty vulgar. Dead Leaves is the much more raunchy one of the two. Both have good dubs though that is merely subjective. Both are very confusing but can still be enjoyed if you don't understand them. Both have very high rewatch value due to how short they are in length. Dead Leaves is less than an hour long while FLCL can be finished in under 3 hours. I prefer Dead Leaves though that is just me. 

Both anime are extreme examples of nonsensical action that continues throughout each series. Both have a lot of dirty humor in then with Dead Leaves having more of it. The animation styles on both border on chaotic (in a good way). The characters in both are crazy and a bit psychopathic. 

the animation, the rythm, the intensity of these animes are similar. Also, they are particularly absurd and funny. 

Dead Leaves is a mix between FLCL and Invader Zim, so if you like either of those then you'll like the other. 

Both are completely weird and confusing to watch where you might think you're high or on drugs, but they are also classic masterpieces. 

Both aside from being from the same studio, are both high octane trippy wild rides with a crazy cool cast as well too. 

Dead Leaves and FLCL are anime that feature amazing visuals and crazy, non-sensical comedy. If you enjoyed one, you'll likely enjoy the other. 

Both anime have similar crazy animation, humor and action. Dead Leaves however has a more stylized artwork and is more raunchy and violent than FLCL. 

One word can describe FLCL and Dead Leaves: insanity. Both anime are short and over the top in every single thing. Some of the characters and the humor are similar in both anime, and Canti and Retro both have TVs for heads. The art styles are similar as well, but Dead Leaves is more stylized. While both anime are crude, Dead Leaves is much more crude and is more violent. These anime aren’t for everybody, but they are worth trying at the very least. 

Very chaotic energy and amazing art styles and animation 

As products of the same twisted mind (that of animator/director Hiroyuki Imaishi), these two anime have a lot in common: the uber-stylized visuals, hyper-speed pacing, audiovisual overload, surreal "storytelling", love of overkill and deranged sense of humor which characterize Imaishi's work are on full display in both works. It's a style that will repulse some as much as it will fascinate others, but if you like one you're practically guaranteed to like the other.

Similar Art, Action, Characters, and Humor, though Panty & Stocking has less action. Also, it's very fast paced and the storyline is a bit confusing, like FLCL. Either you will love, or hate this. Btw, in the credits of the English Dub, Gainax has a place, not sure if they helped out, but with it the camera angles it seemed so, that company also made Panty & Stocking.  

Both are directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, and they have the same kind of humor and action.

Production I.G. and Gainax both worked on FLCL. Both follow two crude protagonists with a penchant for sex and violence. Both have a crazy, comic-book kind of art style. 

Both were directed by the same man and both are filled with high octane action with stylish visuals. They also both make little to no sense with the stories they hold. 

Holy Shit! Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt & Dead Leaves seem to embody this term with all their might. Both are simply crass entertainment that try to be as vulgar and explicit as possible chock-a-block with blunt sex jokes and trash entertainment, whilst rattling the senses with their sharp comic strip style animation and are both fast paced experimental animations by Production I.G. and Gainax. Panty and Stocking can be considered far more witty and more of a social commentary, while Dead Leaves is the embodiment of pulp fiction entertainment where its plain offensiveness and stupidity is its best point. 

Dead Leaves is similar to Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt for various reasons, this OVA shares the same director which explains both very little and oh-so-much… This anime also has some of the same quirky animation and humour which I like to refer to as Immature/Mature (which I personally find hilarious) and finally the pacing at hyper speed is definitely present. 

Both have western-like animation, both are action and comedy and both are full of perverted jokes and randomness. Both were made by same director. 

Both have more of a western approach with focus on dirty humor with unique animation styles. 

Imaishi is an artist and not giving a single F is his art. - atypical art style for an anime, which will turn some off, that works perfectly not only in their own particular world, but enables the characters to be moved freely and absurdly for the best comedic effect - wonderfully directed dubs, packed with a lot of vulgarity, humor and great acting - an incredible sense of urgency that keeps you on your toes at all times - comically absurd premises - great entertainment for fans of raunchy animation such as south park, drawn together etc. - both directed by the precious Imaishi - both influenced by other works that are dear to him (for example, Dead Leaves is heavily influenced by the OVA Birth, while Panty & Stocking is influenced by Re: Cutie Honey and over the top western animation) - speaking of over the top, these animations are INSANE! - great comedic timing - female characters that both do not give one single screw and are also badasses in their own right - great animation and directing during fight scenes - VIOLENCE - nudity read more 

Dead Leaves is basically Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt: The Prototype. Both anime have a similar stylized art style and a very similar brand of vulgar humor, but Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt takes these things to the maximum. The main characters are similar as well, with Retro being similar to Panty and Pandy being similar to Stocking. Not to mention that Hiroyuki Imaishi directed both anime as well. Watch both if you want something different from most anime out there. 

Kill la Kill is basically Dead Leaves in school. Having some staff members in common, character design, animation, direction give the same feel. Both works are also fast-paced and filled with over-the-top action. They both depict fascism and more generally the ugly side of life (dirtyness, physical violence, verbal abuse) in a non-politically correct way.  

both have a thicklined drawing style and are over the top fun, and the style is also simmilair to the anime Redline 

Both are full of action and comedy. Both have similar irregular animation and both are full of perverted jokes. In both, main character(s) fight against authority (Student council president in Kill la Kill, Prison guards in Dead Leaves. Both were made by same director. 

Both are full of extremely fast paced over-the-top action scenes and they contain some ecchi elements. 

Although Kill la Kill is a lot more serious than Dead Leaves, both have simple cartoonish art-style but with awesome animation. They both also have crazy, random, and sexual humor. If you enjoyed one, you'll definitely enjoy the other. 

Both have very psychotic and absurd action in them with a similarity in animation style with Dead Leaves being a little more hectic. Both have enemies that are trying to control it's subjects that the MC's fight back against. Both have some dirty jokes but Dead Leaves is filled to the brim with them as well as extreme sexual humor. 

Both were from the same team long before trigger was founded actually and are high energy fast paced lots of action and trippy edgy humor and art as well as lot of fun to watch as well too and also crazy female anti heroines as well too. 

Dead Leaves and Kill la Kill have the same frantic energy, brought to you by director Hiroyuki Imaishi. Both anime have a load of action, comedy, and crazy animation. However, Dead Leaves is aimed at a much less mainstream audience than Kill la Kill, and has a much different art style and vibe in general. 

Just to clear things Aachi wa Ssipak is an anime from South Korea so called manwha. But that doesn't change a thing this two anime's are on equal terms with the full of randomness in them. Also lot's of bloodshed, violence, BDSM and somewhat of "romance".  

Both have interesting art styles are are pretty weird overall. 

Both are crazy weird, crazy violent, and crazy fun to watch. 

Oi it's been 1 second without anything crazy on screen. Time to step it up a notch! 

Both are high-octane, energetic adventures featuring fast-moving frenzies, bloody battles, and an amazing amount of slapstick humor. If you like to be winded with laughter and the pure essence of absurdity, then you'll love both of these films. They're practically twins, they're so similar. Definitely give the other one of these movies a try if you've liked one.  

Both from Hiroyuki Imaishi- -crazy over the top action -unique art style -fast paced, quick cuts -hilarious dialogue 

Although Gurren Lagann is a lot more serious than Dead Leaves, both have simple cartoonish art-style but with awesome animation. They both also have crazy, random, and sexual humor. If you enjoyed one, you'll definitely enjoy the other. 

Both are high energy,fact paced lots of action packed crazyiness full of hectic moments and quirky and cool characters as well as really cool art too look at. 

Dead Leaves and Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann are directed by the exact same person — Hiroyuki Imaishi, and share quite a bit in common. Both anime are over the top action packed fun that aren’t boring for a single second. The art in both anime are similar and both anime are very funny and have great characters, Retro in Dead Leaves and Kamina in Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann. However, Dead Leaves is a lot more abstract than Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann, which is more mainstream. If you liked Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann for it’s insanity and over the top action, Dead Leaves might be for your liking. read more 

Madness of unusual plot, atypical artstyle and eyecandy animation. 

Both are trippy edgy stuff in story as well as art and also unusual animation as well too. 

Hells is similar to Dead Leaves in the sense of humor although Hells is not as overtly raunchy as Dead Leaves. The character designs of both series are very stylistic and expressive. If you liked Dead Leaves, you'll probably like Hells. 

Dead Leaves and Trava have a lot in common: a dystopian sci-fi premise, an artwork and an animation style that give a frenzied and organic feeling, the focus on few unconventional characters, the comedic tone, even the duration. Only big differences are the plots and the fact that Trava was made two years before Dead Leaves, making it a ever so slightly less fluid.  

Both has the same weird animation style, actions is WAY out of order, and DAMN funny as hell breaks loose! 

Trava predates Dead Leaves by two years, Hiroyuki Imaishi has directed and storyboarded the 2nd episode (and did some stuff on the 3rd) on the former and is the director of the latter. One can tell that Dead Leaves was hugely influenced by the esthetics of Trava. And in the same way the crazy otaku-sex-comedy cartoon style of Imaishi probably influenced the making of Trava as well. A great creative period for Imaishi and those two animes are a testament to that. 

Both are random, surreal comedy movies with hard to follow stories, minfuck and similar irregular animation. 

Both are bizarre adventures with a psychedelic artstyle and a lot of absurd fun. 

Both are quite psychedelic in both animation style and their sense of story telling. Dead Leaves and Mind Game are both comedies, Mind Game tackles more serious subjects while Dead Leaves is more on the silly, eccentric side. Finally, both are movies making them easy to watch. 

Both are high energy,fact paced lots of action packed crazyiness full of hectic moments and quirky and cool characters as well as really cool art too look at. And also were made by trigger before they were trigger as well too. 

Why Uchuu Patrol Luluco isn’t as crude as Dead Leaves, it has a similar style of over the top humor and action. Both have a futuristic setting as well, and both share a director, Hiroyuki Imaishi. Simply put, if you like Dead Leaves, watch Uchuu Patrol Luluco. 

Super crazy, fast-paced movies in a futuristic setting where humans and aliens coexist. Both have very similar high-contrast artwork, also both have scenes of reckless driving with gunfights. 

I think that redline is probably one of the single most exhilarating experiences that you can have watching anime, the anime has a stunning amount of energy that is replicated in few other titles. For me one of those titles that manages to give me a similar sense of energy and creativity is dead leaves. So if you are looking for a bombastic experience with a digestible runtime, checkout dead leaves. 

Two stories with a dystopian setting which share a similar amount of insanity and degeneracy paired with stunning visuals and a crap ton of gore 

Bizarre movies that make little to no sense. Cat Soup has a meaning, though. 

Before Hiroyuki Imaishi's insanely entertaining Dead Leaves, the world of anime delivers Birth two decades earlier. Just like Gurren Lagann was inspired by the likes of Getter Robo Armageddon, Dead Leaves takes at least some inspiration from the more modest Birth. Featuring impressive directorial choices and cuts, good animation (for the the mid '80's), fast-paced action and a cast of mad, yet colourful characters, This 1h19min OVA film is bound to leave some people wanting more and some wishing they'd get back the time they wasted. Sames as with its spiritual successor, the story is nonesensical, the plot almost non-existent and focus is put on animation, action, violence and well, FUN! Both are extremely underrated gems in the experimental side of anime, mostly because of their aesthetics and overall quirkiness, however if you're in any way passionate about various different takes on the medium, experimentation, OVA's or short animated films, recreational use of visual drugs or trope-defying instalments, then these two are certainly for you. Oh, and did I mention the wonderful comedic timing that these two have? It's like watching Looney Tunes on acid. read more 

I guess this is the closest thing to a new Dead Leaves that has come out in recent memory. At least in terms of intensity and visual style. 

Dead Leaves and Needless are pretty similar. The art styles and humor are similar and both anime are completely insane and over the top. Both are never boring for a second and are recommended for people who like these kinds of anime. Needless is much more of a battle anime, while Dead Leaves is just plain insanity. 

Both focus around lots of wild ultraviolent scenarios and both are focused around characters being caught up into a much bigger scenario as well too that the fate of those around them depend on their actions as well too.  

Both are pretty wild, funny, and pretty perverted, similar animation 

Both are movies with similar trippy, surreal feeling. Both are fast paced. Both have group of people trapped somewhere (prison/tv show). Both deal with lost memory. 

Short movies with similar aesthetics and designs, set in worlds were nothing really needs to make sense as long as it is as over the top as possible. 

They both are eye candy animes 

Visual fireworks. Dead Leaves is more over the top and cartoony, but Anno's Re:CH doesn't fall too far behind. Switch your brain off and enjoy the ride.
