Angel Beats! Specials

WARNING: MINOR SPOILERS FOR THE SPECIAL EPISODES OF ANGEL BEATS!

Without paying too much attention to the rather low rating I assigned to these OVA`s does not mean I disliked them any more than any other special episodes. It tied in well to the main story of the series, yet, the intention of these two side stories was mainly for the humourous exploration.

Story: 8
Having tied into the main story well, they are considered to be short and entertaining specials revolved around the student council. Both episodes from the picnic to the exam scenarios were highly amusing, and I didn`t have much to complain about.

Art: ... 8
It didn`t get the highest-ranking as they were short episodes, and purely were replicas of the mainstream show art style. The world-building was much better, showing off the scenery that surrounds the school in terms of the picnic episode. Animation ran smoothly alongside the character designs, focusing purely on the same characters we have previously met.

Sound: 7
OSTs and soundtrack still wasn`t the greatest, which was a shame, but this factor didn`t make me dislike them any less. Briefly sounding muffled on the odd word every now and then, other than that the category of sound was great. Using the same opening and closing piece as the prime site of the series.

Character: 7
As I have already stated, the special episodes contain the main characters we have already met, and due to them being OVAs alone, they didn`t thrive in terms of character development, which is understandable as these episodes are not a part of the feature-length series. Once more, the characters are all likeable and I`m glad that we`ve got more content of them, even though it was short, it was sweet.

Enjoyment: 7
I did indeed enjoy these specials, as I do have somewhat of an attachment to these characters - Angel in particular. Personally, I don`t really dwell on OVA`s, seeing them as fillers for the show. Though, I did enjoy these OVAs for the humourous side alone.

In conclusion, I did enjoy my watch of these specials and was glad to witness more content with these loveable characters. Other than my liking for these characters and the simplistic storylines in these shorts, I don`t have that much left to discuss.

So, I do recommend watching these if you wish to gain more content of these characters in particular and if you`re looking for something that will get the occasional laugh out of you. It was a nice addition to the show.

These two OVA's are part of the story and includes Yuri's attempts to have Kanade summon God. It goes back to the beginning of the series where they are still fighting Kanade. Yuri devises two plans for the SSS to act in such ridiculous manners that Kanade won't be able to handle it and therefore would need to summon God for assistance. They are both entertaining in their own right. They are both on the more comical side of the series rather than the dramatic side. The comedy itself is pretty entertaining but I personally found it a bit too chaotic and too much to ... handle. The beginning of the series was the hardest to get through for me so watching two extra episodes from the beginning wasn't that enjoyable to me. The series does well at making it a comedy-drama but I prefer the drama over the comedy of this series. If you enjoy watching these characters act ridiculous then by all means, these OVA's should be entertaining to you.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to a review of Angel Beats! Specials Now, this anime is a bit different from the main series, as it's more of a collection of extra scenes and character backstories than a coherent story in its own right.

While it's certainly nice to get some additional insight into the characters and their motivations, the Special lacks the emotional punch and sense of cohesiveness that made the main series so enjoyable. Some of the scenes feel like unnecessary filler, and others simply don't add much to the overall story.

That being said, fans of the series ... will likely still find plenty to enjoy in the Special. It's always nice to spend more time with these lovable characters, and some of the new scenes are quite touching.

In terms of animation and sound, the Special is on par with the main series, which is to say that it's generally quite good. The music, in particular, is a standout, with several new tracks that are just as memorable as those from the main series.

The Angel Beats! Special is a bit like a slice of cake that's been left out in the sun for a bit too long. It's still tasty, but it's not as fresh or satisfying as it could be.

Overall, I'd give a score of 6.857/10. While it's certainly not a must-watch for fans of the series, it's still a decent addition to the Angel Beats! universe.

Selamat malam para wanita dan pria, dan selamat datang pada ulasan tentang Angel Beats! Specials. Sekarang, anime ini agak berbeda dari seri utamanya, karena lebih merupakan kumpulan adegan tambahan dan latar belakang karakter daripada cerita yang koheren.

Meskipun tentu saja menyenangkan untuk mendapatkan wawasan tambahan tentang karakter dan motivasi mereka, Specials kurang memiliki pukulan emosional dan rasa kesatuan yang membuat seri utama begitu menyenangkan. Beberapa adegan terasa seperti pengisi waktu yang tidak perlu, dan yang lainnya hanya tidak menambah banyak pada cerita keseluruhan.
