NTHT and MSG-V are both set in a Crapsack World. Both shows are loaded well with emotional, dramatic, depressing, tragic and tearjerking scenes. Comedy is also present but slighty although the latter tends to be unexpected. Interestingly, there are many similarities between both shows' MC: -both are innocent children who would later become child soldiers. -both are in one way or another tend to be punched or abused by their superiors. -both are confident, strong-willed and ready to save everyone they love. -both face death around them with people being killed, tortured, dying, etc... -both have heroines who possess some kind of psychic powers. -both have tyrants who are obsessed with  read more

Iron-Blooded Orphans and Victory both have very similar premises and elements early on, more than just both being Gundam shows. Bother feature a very young or young-appearing MC (as Mika doesn't have an official age iirc), a noble girl who wants to end an oppressive imperial reign, and a young girl who tries to comfort the MC. Tekkadan and the League Militaire are also fairly similar as organizations.

Victory Gundam and EVA share many similarities in main characters and their circumstances, as well as similar supporting cast, also they both explore the themes of motherhood, dichotomy of a woman and a mother, also the plans for bettering humanity and fighting angelic enemies. There's plenty of tragedy in both too.

MSG Victory and Bokurano both feature children as mecha pilots. They are forced to face the reality of saving the world from invaders with the former being attacked by a spaceborne empire and the latter being parallel Earths. The main difference is only one mecha is available for a particular Earth while MSG Victory of course being part of the Gundam metaseries features many. Also, both shows feature tragedy, sadness, depression, the relationship between relatives, friends and families and some level of comedy. All in all, both shows feature one infamous feature and that is called 'KILL EM ALL' wherein one or more characters are  read more

You can't get more "Kill em' All" Tomino than these two ... both can be a hit or miss though, I personally didn't like Victory too much but loved Ideon. I'm sure many are different on that, or may agree, might love or hate both, etc! All in all though if you want brutally grim Tomino shows, these are it.
