Middle school 2nd year, Amano Yukiteru, is a boy who has problem making friends. He thinks of himself as a bystander and will always write down everything he sees in a cell phone diary.

Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru began to imagine things like a friend called Deus Ex Machina who is apparently the Lord of Time & Space. Seeing Yukiteru's miserable state, Deus gives him a new ability. His diary will now record events that will happen in the near future. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a game which the winner will become Deus's successor.

A short OVA that was bundled with the limited edition of the eleventh volume of the manga.

This OVA isn't as bad as people are making out to be. In fact this is less of an OVA and more of a trailer presenting some scenes from the first volume of the manga and showing what it would look like in anime form.

After watching this I can say that it looks fantastic.

From a story perspective this OVA was really confusing. A first timer may understand about the future diary and not a whole lot else. However this OVA were different scenes made to sorta tell a story, not really the whole thing. If an actual anime was made it would be read more

The Mirai Nikki OVA is a short, eight minute OVA that was bundled with the eleventh volume of the manga on December 9th, 2010. (My birthday – a coincidence? Hahah! …Not the year, of course.) It basically takes a bunch of random scenes from the first volume of the manga and shows how they would look in animation form. I was actually rather pleased with the scenes they depicted, since they were very accurate (almost word-for-word) with the manga.

For those of you who don’t know what Mirai Nikki is, it means “Future Diary” in English. It’s about a boy, Amano Yukiteru, who isn’t very interested read more

This Ova has done what it was suppose to great, which was convincing me to watch the entire series, that I'm going to start watching right now.

The whole premise sounded very interesting. A cellphone diary which is capable of showing the future of the characters and the battle between all users. It sounds very exciting.

The art was amazing. There's no bad thing I can say about it. Everything from the character designs to backgrounds and special effects looked great. If this is the kind of art that it's going to be present throughout the actual anime it's gonna be great.

I loved the music. It really read more

What can I say about what amounts to a 8 minute sizzle reel to an anime adaptation that may or may not happen. Not much. But here we go.

Yuno sounds okay. She's a little high pitched but she'll do

Yuki sounded alright

Uryuu was perfect

Music was decent

ED was kickass

The Length

Yuno barely appearing or doing anything that we've come to love her for

The animation made the characters look chubby

Deus looks terrible in CGI

That's pretty much all I can say. Hopefully a future anime adaptation will be in the future. One that's good and not......this soul shatteringly disappointing.

Both horror with a lot of mystery and questions. You may think you know something but then later you find you that you were totally off. Full of surprises.
This anime is also gory and touching than Mirai Nikki. The story line is not at all the same.
Besides, I do not recommend this for busy people who love sweet animated and happy stories (because the name does not leave at all presage the future!).
A phone that grants and determines the one winner of the last one standing.
A girl who promises to do "whatever" for the main character.

Same mysterious atmosphere...
same theme and similar characters but different setting.both have a main character with a weird girl in bizzare situations in a weird world and both have violence ...
The main characters are both antisocial, and some what of cowards at first. They are forced to play a game and fight for their lives, killing other players in the process. While the female protagonist in Btooom! is not a Yandere, she does give the main character a reason to fight, similar to what Yuuno gives Yuki.
