In both series the main male character has some kind of "illness" than one of the female main characters promises to cure. In both series the main male character is being kicked and hit all the time.

MM is built around a sadomasochistic pairing. Working isn't. So, when you first read Working's summary and note that it has a restaurant setting, you'd think it'd share few to no similarities with MM's school club shenanigans. BUT, Working may as well be about the members of a club interacting, so reliant on character gags it is--the whole at-work-not-school aspect getting overlooked... with school girls STILL being main characters. (Anime, I am disappoint...) What makes these two super-easy to link is MM's Arashiko and Working's Inami. They have a phobia of all things male and react with EXTREME violence whenever one comes close to them. And  read more

The underdog fight for you. Underpowered protagonist help the heroine overcome her past by kicking some ass. Ookami-san's past was kept safe along the series, until the protagonist beat up the bad guy and end the shows altogether. In MM!, the hero simply beat the living hell out of the bad guy and help the heroine overcome it in a few chapters, leaving the rest of the season for comedy, or a new drama. The tension of the shows however are kept lukewarm along the story, as both show has mixed both dramatical and funny contents in no formal pattern. It's pretty difficult to guess what you will  read more

Mio and Taiga's personalities are very similar, in the case that they are both tsundere toward the male lead.
report Recommended by Nanodesu
Both are these animes are hilarious with great characters and both have the same kind of perverted humour in them. Both have a guy constantly being bossed around by a bossy girl.

When it comes down to it, these are basically the same show. Male character is scorned by the school population in general, so he joins a vaguely-purposed club populated by mostly girls. Fanservice, romantic tension, and hilarity ensue. Several of the characters have rough analogues between the two shows: Yuuta = Kodaka Mio = Sena Arashiko = Yozora Tatsuki = Yukimura Noa = Rika

Both shows have similar style of animation and character design (especially main girls characters are similar by appearance). Both of them can be considered like parody on school life with ecchi moments. They have similar kind of humor and in both is also cute male cross-dresser.

Both of the male leads have the reputation of being a pervert, although for different reasons. As it turns out, both male leads are really nice guys, although the rumors aren't totally unfounded either.

The character Haruhi and Isurugi Mio are pretty similar in the bossy attitude kind of way, and they order around this "guy" as if he was they're personal slave.

-Both have protagonist with some kind of problem. -Both have harems full of cute female characters that try to help the protagonist. -They are pretty much the same thing, in the same context, but with some differences, so, if you liked one you'll like the other.

Main male gets beatings every episode by the female characters

A brainless and perverted main male character, who is often beatin up by a beautiful violent girl, but he still happy after the beatings received. School comedy with weird characters, supernatural stuff and funny parodies. A lot of ecchi and gorgeous girls. There is a supporting male classmate for the male protagonist.

Harem complete with idiot man and abuser-of-idiot-man. The comic point of both shows mainly concern abusing of the lead male character. Harem with romance is all well and good but it is a paradox in itself. Romance involve relationship of one man and one girl, harem involve relationship of one man and many girls. Combination of such genre should be devastating, no? Nevermind, internet comments about psychology in anime always sound stupid anyway. Even if we dress like WTO officer and discuss it in 5 stars hotel lobby it will still sounds stupid. Lets just say both shows are alternative to the most fundamental harem like Love  read more

Well if you're curious or into S&M or simply find it funny, MM! deals with a M guy who has a bad case of it, however in MM! It's more about the comedy of dealing with it and some cute characters with a slight harem thing going on. Just don't expect actual S&M to take place (much). Also MM! doesn't have nudity.

The big highlight on the similarity is that both story evolving in a highschool's club. The kicker is the club's president/founder/self-proclaimed "god" has this wicked "urge" to fix others problems. Although MM! has more "matured" content, I'd say both worth to watch

MM! and Koi Suru Boukun? They a aggressive tsundere (Mio Isurugi and Souichi Tatsumi) and Funny Masochist (Taro Sado and Tetsuhiro Morinaga) So this really depends on ever. MM! is Hetero and Koi Suru Boukun is BL Both are humorous comedy.

Both story developing in a highschool's club that apparently established to accommodate students with certain fetishes. The everyday students (especially the clubs member) life which filled with unimaginable yet hilarious scenes

Both are about sexual themes and comedy genre. Both deal with serious themes at times. Both are beautifully animated. Both have vivid, memorable characters. They represent a similar point in my opinion.

- Both have sadist & masochists - School/comedy - The girl is the sadist in MM!, the boy in Ookami - There are big differences between them even so, but both are still fun to watch

Both are comedies about a pervert who is being controlled/tourtered by someone. In Maria Holic the main charcther is a girl and is being tourtered by a guy while in MM! its a guy being tourtered who by a girl.So they're kind of like opposites but are basically the same story.

Both series have a club that solve people problems, featuring two girls and one boy. And one of girls in both series voiced by Hayami Saori (Yuuno Arashiko and Yukinon, of course). Well, the way of solving problems is completly different, as well as series genre and mood. That because in Yahari Ore no Seishun ROMCOM went terrible wrong, as title honestly describes. I can compare MM! and Oregairu with two sides of the same coin. If you, for some reason, just watched Oregairu and now want to know how how typical "Teen Romanctic Comedy" could be - you should watch MM! Otherwise - if you  read more

COMMON: In both the main female character is a tsundere(I think Mio from MM is more kamidere than tsundere). In both the male main character has a special ability.Taro from MM has a ridiculous amount of "Pervert Energy" while Kinji from Hidan no Aria has "Hysteria Mode"(very similar to "Pervert Energy") In both is a girl who is jealous of the main couple(Shirayuki from Hidan no Aria and Yuno from MM) UNCOMMON: In Hidan no Aria the school is more special (high school for mercenaries) while in MM is a typical school. In Hidan no Aria is a lot of action while in MM  read more

Both of these shows are hilarious, with similar character archetypes and (masochistic) humor in school/club settings

- "if you like the other one, then you will like both" - both of the male protagonist like perverted things, but sometimes when serious things happen they become matured. ( sado taro-aito yuki ) - tsundere blondie ( miharu and sena - mio ) - every episode that you will laugh because of the main character

This show just came into mind when I first started watching this show. Both are funny and have some ecchi moments to go along with that. Both have great main characters also, and similar animation style.
report Recommended by djsjr
Both have a sadistic female lead that's flatchested contrasting with another bustier, clumsy female lead.
report Recommended by Nanodesu
If you liked Katja, you'll like Mio even more, both being very dominant lolitas.

Though having different approach in presentation and art direction, sexual perverseness is a premise of both shows.

Both male harem leads have a purple haired girl with androphobia in their harems. That's something you don't see everyday...

* Both are comedy * They have ecchi and fanservice but fight Ippatsu has more. * Both have a character who loves to hit by.

The main girl character and main boy character are a lot like Kirino and Kyousuke. The main girl character even has the same voice actress as Kirino. The main character girl tries to help the boy character. There personalities are so similar it's creepy.

The relationship between the female lead and the male lead is characterized by the female being somewhat of a tsundere and the male accepting, and sometimes even enjoying, the physical and verbal abuse that she liberally dispenses. Of course, there are plenty of dere moments from the female lead as well.
