Adachi-ga Hara

I found the short film very interesting, and as somebody else put it in the "Episode 1 Discussion" forum thread for this anime, the story is very similar to that of an episode you would find in the original 1959 American TV series "The Twilight Zone".

The story was pretty good, but I could only really label it as good. It's pretty simple, something that doesn't take the greatest writer to think of, but still plenty good.

I decided not to rate the art or sound, as the only version I could find of this anime was a really awful quality copy on 9anime.to, so I feel ... I missed the actual experience and do not wish to rate the version of the work I saw, but rather the version that the creators spent so much time on. Though, from what I could make of it, the art style looked good for the early 90's and the music and quality of voice acting were good too.

I did enjoy this anime, and being that it only took thirty minutes of my time, I felt that it was time well spent. I recommend this short film to anybody interested in older anime and obscure media, if you could even call this that.

Short Review:

Was quite gripping for the first half or so, but then things started to get stupidly predictable. There was some poetry I believe being recited, and I found that intriguing to say the least, which made me feel as if this show was about to go somewhere, spoiler: (it didn't). The character sound effects were poor, but fair enough considering this is old. Same goes to animation. Nothing exciting about any of the characters either.

The story was as I mentioned, extremely predictable for the most part, and the concept most likely to all of us is not something new at all. Hence, this probably ... was something great in the past.

Ending was butchered with that extremely cringe scene (it was funny how bad it was), and I really just wanted this whole thing to end. I couldn't bring my self to care anymore.

Would not recommend, and would not watch again.
