Same "GAME" theme. Level up, partys, monster hunts etc.

It may just be me but the two male mains slightly remind me of each other. I like the "Hunter X Hunter" main more though but the have the same sort of feel.

The main characters are similar. Both feature a video game like setting with leveling up, weapon upgrade, etc. As the story progresses, stronger enemies challenges the main character.

Fantasy anime similar to RPGs. A young boy from humble beginnings face a decision making choice where he becomes an adventurer and set out to defeat monsters and level up to become the best of the best. If you're a fan of dungeon crawling RPGs, you might enjoy the other, although Beet the Vandel Buster is kinda childish and DanMachi has a lot of ecchi scenes

Both anime have unique weapon for fighting and they also have group of people trying to end the dark era...Both are Action,Adventure,Fantasy and also Fun :)

Based in old fashioned times the team in Saiyuki is traveling to find a cure and the cause of the Youkai insanity while the group in Beat the Vandel Buster is aiming to end the dark era. Both of these anime involve plenty of fighting, friendship and monster like creatures (Youkai in Saiyuki and Vandel in BTVB) I think there is a little more character focus in Saiyuki and it seems a bit more complex, but over all these two shows carried the same kind of vibe.

Beet the Vandel Buster feels very much like Gate Keepers kid brother. Beet the Vandel Buster is the PG to Gate Keepers PG-13, so the style of humor is a little different and toned down, but it also has a tighter nit cast, a little more cohesive adventuring story line. The settings are completely different, the plots aren't alike at all, and the style isn't really either (Gate Keepers a little more zany), but the "vibe" feels very similar. A kind of adventuring, feel-good warmth and light hardheartedness that makes it an easy watch.

Though they differ significantly in time and place, they share two key aspects: the selflessness of the main character and the creativity of the fight scenes. Ueki, like Beet, was saved from death by those he grew to idolize not once, but twice. And the powers they have are not used to brute-force fights, but to win them creatively (such as in the fight with Grineed or with Bolo T).

They both have the same feeling to it. The main characters fight against monsters (which look very similar in a visual way). And both main characters get gradually stronger throughout the anime, and both fight alongside with friends.
