Similair humor and randomness.
It's SHAFT, it's a quirky cast, it's the same main voice actor (KAMIYA!!), it's random culture references, and it's witty/ridiculous humor everywhere. If you liked one of them, the other comedy would probably make you laugh just as much. Note: Arakawa under the Bridge has a romantic plot (Nino <3) but Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei does not.
Characters are almost the same. Feeling and tons of iuseless talks...
Almost the same humor, randomness, story (life of a guy surrounded by a bunch of weirdos) and all
Similiar in humor and randomness and lot of weird people
just replace the classroom with riverbank
Same producers, art and voice actors. Both of them are good and funny.
The same random humor and voice actor.
It got a really similar feel to it!
Same absurd kind of humour and the main characters have a similar feel to them.
Let's not beat around the bush - Arakawa is Zetsubou Sensei with a fresh coat of paint. If you've run out of SZS and need more, you should be watching this. You might just end up liking it more.
Both are presented in quite similar style, and filled in comedy, the seiyuu of both main characters are same so if you really enjoyed the comedic expression of Ichinomiya Kou a.k.a Recruit in Arakawa,u will surely enjoyed the same from Itoshiki Nozomu in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Similar humour and random out there dialogue.

Both series start with the meeting between the protagonist and an odd yet characteristically deadpan girl he forms an arbitrarily romantic relationship with and follow up with his dealings with various increasingly odd people and their problems. Having the same production studio, director, and lead seiyuu, they often feel quite similar, despite Bakemonogatari possessing a seriousness and sequential arc structure Arakawa consistently avoids.
It is obvious that if you liked Bakemonogatari you should watch Arakawa Under the Bridge. The main character of the both series is voiced by the same actor, which gives the impression that we have to deal with the very similar story.
Another thing that is in common is the way the story is being told. It is almost the same. The key factor is the fact that Bakemonogatari was made by the studio that has also made the Arakawa Under the Bridge. Both series will rather not be liked by the most of the viewers because the storyline is made for more intelligent people.
The only difference is shown using the art style, which is rather similar to the standard anime shows in Arakawa Under the Bridge. But it should make it easier to watch for non otakus.
Both are done by SHAFT, hence it's shafty. When, Bakemonogatari focuses on very little amount of characters and analysis them in depth using clever and witty dialogues, Arakawa under the Bridge raises the madness of the characters by far and the number of the cast is significantly larger with bother-line retarded and nonsensical conversations. Still, they are very similar in the fact that both focuses mainly on dialogues of individual characters. Oh, and eye rolling scenes too.
Thus, both looks great.
Arakawa Under The Bridge follows the legacy of Bakemonogatari with exactly the same style, same director, same elite main voice actors. However, this show is one or two notch(es) down from Bakemonogatari on romance, plot, and characters. Afterall, good learning material for funny Japanese chatter.
Both are random-esque animes that tend to shift from situation to situation, involving comedy or general mishaps between the protagonist and his girlfriend or friends. While Bakemonogatari does have a more concrete ending, Arakawa has a much more lighthearted feel to it and will keep you laughing for quite a while. The happy-go-lucky feel is present in every single minute of the anime.
Similar humor and character developments. Emphasis on a very small area of the anime's locale. The person that voices the main character in Arakawa (Kou) also voices a main character in Bakemonogatari (Hitagi), and does an amazing job. The all around feel of both anime's are very similar, funny, and enjoyable.
When i started watching Bakemonogatari it almost instantly reminded me about Arakawa. Art and characters, their humor and actions, and random plots. Both are really good and funny.
-Male main character meets strange female character
-Both male main character share the same VA
-MANY other strange characters
-Same producer: Shaft
-Same humor
Oh God, that randomness and humor in both of these series.
Shaft is involved in both series and brings unique comedy into both of these series that are sarcastic and out of this world.
Both series meets a strange girl and becomes a couple with them. The protagonist in both series are quite similar in terms of personalities and even a bit in appearance.
Both series are outrageously funny and a must watch.
Both anime excel in Extreme Trash-Talking
Like seriously some of the most outright fascinating dialogue possible
Both anime were Produced by Shaft--really awesome group
Neither of these anime involve the typical --school nonsense
Both of these anime really get their Substance from all characters that are not the
Main Character

You will constantly laugh your head off watching these.
I know both don't have the same story and one is a shounen and the other a seinen but both have in common the comedy style, they have weird characters in their way, both are randomness.
I'm sure if you like one, you may like the other too.
I know the story totally different, but both of animes have a total randomness and both have the same pattern of gag comedy. If you enjoyed this, you may enjoy the other
Another one that was very similar in terms of comedy
Highly compressed hilarious randomness. Must I say more?
Warning: Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou starts out a little slower and takes a few episodes to get epic.
Both are absolutely nonsensical and absolutely hilarious in similar and different kinds of ways

Both are offbeat comedies about an ordinary guy, his sort-of-romantic-but-not-really relationship with a girl who claims to be an alien, and their unconventional friends and peers. Arakawa's gag series nature renders it a lot sillier than Denpa Onna, but it's not without its own ridiculous elements. And of course both are directed by Shinbo, so you can't leave out his signature style.
I always look forward to finding something new and intresting in recommendation section when I am out of anime and that is why once in a while I try to recommend something too... For this time of year when a new season just started the best thing is to find one old and one new anime which were similar. And here we go:
* Both anime have main girl heroines who think that they are aliens.
* Both are bishoujos and nice girls but serious weirdouus ;DD
* Both leading males starts the show in deniel but than tries to adapt.
And here we start new alien season!
Nino and Erio are both self proclaimed aliens and are very weird. and both shows come from the same producer.
Both animes have a main female character that are self proclaimed aliens from outer space and have a mission. As the male main characters are similar too from both series who accept things after assessing their current situation, unless really bizarre.
Both have girls who think that they are aliens and have very vague plots.

Similar humor, randomness, almost all characters is abnormal, and both is so funny.
The type of comedy and the characters in each of these shows is practically identical. In gintama you have either people who are really strange or doing weird things, and then you have shinpachi (or occasionally gintama or kagura) who play the roll of the "straight man" who is explaining that its strange or odd. In arakawa a lot of the characters have the same type of oddities you find in gintama, and the straight man is played by the main character, save for when he is the one displaying oddities.
If you like random humour with nonsense storyline and disturbed characters, then this show is for you.
very similar humor and randomness. Both shows have utterly crazy characters in them, too
They share certain voice actors, and have the same type of humor.

When i watch Arakawa it totally reminds me of Seto no Hanayome, it gives me the same feeling. It has the same humor and both Anime have to do with Water and a Boy whos together with the Girl through an accident where the Girl saved the Boy. The only difference is that the Boy in Seto no Hanayome must marry the Girl and in Arakawa he shall just be her Boyfriend.
both are awesome, crazy, comedy series with a similar beginning: girl saves boy from drowning -> in Seto no Hanayome the boy must marry the girl, while in Arakawa Under the Bridge the boy just has to become her boyfriend
Both Arakawa and Seto no Hanayome have a great amount of comedy that does not fall flat. If you liked the random and hilarious comedy in Arakawa under the bridge, you'll be sure to enjoy Seto no Hanayome.
In both anime we have a guy who was initially forced to be in a relationship with a girl, but after a while he starts to fall for her.. also genres are similar - comedy/romance.

Both series are about young men meeting and coming to live with an alien (coincidentally both aliens have long blond hair and kind of similar character designs). Although Arakawa is more comedy focused, the comedic moments of Level E feel quite similar, as do Arakawa's dramatic parts.
Alien on earth , Blond characters [but difference in gender] and same Narrator
Both animes have the same humor level. They are both all over the place with their stories and have something to do with aliens or weird different species. The are both unique in the sense of their stories, they make fun of odd things and have a lot of similarities.
This boths series have a sense of humor, very surealistic, show things that could never happend, but in some way they make a very good plot around it
Both shows involve a small group of people, each having their own quirk or strange behavior.
Also, both shows are hilarious!
Different people with different personalities adds up to one funny story, and thats what these two anime is about.
both have similar comedy
there's strange people in them which makes the main characters a bit shocked
when they meet them
If you like your anime's to have weird but amusing characters in a sitcom then this is for you.
Both have strange female characters and sort of bizarre setting.
The world, the plot, even the bridge where this all happens are almost the same. FLCL is a little easier to understand, though.
crazy characters, art of life, comedy
Comedy, Parody, Romance, Seinen, Slapstick
nice animation, crazy characters
The characters are really funny and seem to have nothing better to do with their lives than going around and interacting with the rest of the cast. There doesn't seem to be much of a plot in either and both put a heavy emphasis on comedy and dialogue.
Both series employs random humor, gags, and absurdity not to mention the fact that it's handled and produced by the same studio, Shaft.
In both series, there is a strange main female protagonist present who is involved with the other characters and setting.
In both series, there is no set story but rather based on more humorous dialogues and word plays. Additionally, both series have some supernatural phenomenal that is presented in an absurd and exaggerated way.
The humor type is similar.
Both have the same Atmosphere, comedy and randomess.both male leads,Koyomi and Kou are practically the same and have to deal with weirdos around them plus they got the same Seiyuu.Arakawa uses aliens as the source while Monogatari series is using ghosts, vampires etc and both are by SHAFT
Both series employs the theme of word plays. Shaft is also the studio involved in both series.
Both series has many strange characters with strange personalities in a strange environment.
Both series also has a lot of drama, comedy, parody, and humor.
both are comedies with a male protagonist who deals with weird and supernatural stuff
erm ecchi version of autb?
Wacko comedies with hearts of gold underneath
A rational person has to deal with a weird group of people. You get to see that rational character squirming in both series.
Aliens meet main character. Main character suddenly is surrounded by a bunch of unique people. Hilarity ensues.
They have some common point that i can't explain with words... lol
A normal guys gets dragged into a group of weirdos.
Both of this anime are so funny (●´∀`●) Perfect for everyone who want a continuos jokes ¬o( ̄- ̄メ)...
Both are comedies about a group of strange people living all together.
Both are quirky, unique shows about a group of strange people living together, featuring one person new to the group, with occasional heartwarming and/or romantic undercurrents.
Arakawa is about a rational guy trying to adapt to the ridiculous lifestyle of crazy people under a bridge. Cromartie is about a rational guy trying to adapt to the ridiculous lifestyle of a deranged high school. Both are filled with hilarious characters that range from seemingly normal people to gangsta robots. Each series is a chaotic ride full of randomness upon randomness upon randomness.
hilarious scenarios coming out of left field, random humor etc
Both series are comedic slice-of-life romances with perfectionist male leads and relatively strange female leads. The male leads are frequently frustrated with the antics of the female leads, but in the end both couples really do seem to care for each other.
I can stop thinking about Nodame when I watch Arakawa, the graphic style is so similar, it is also the same kind of humor, with very strange character except the hero, who is quite "normal".
Plus, Kou reminds me a lot of Chiaki in Nodame : they are both issued from rich families and will meet a strange girl who will "teach" them how to really "live"...
Both shows are wonderfully weird and quirky. They also have similar art in that they're very colourful, pretty and nice to view. Although Mawaru Penguindrum is much more serious in parts, it has a similar air and feel to Arakawa Under the Bridge. :)
While completely different, Mawaru Penguindrum occasionally has a similar tone to the humor. There is also a very strong Shaft quality to Penguindrum. Both are highly enjoyable, and I recommend them both.
Both are hilarious comedies that are very enjoyable.
Both kinda teach you values.
Similar comedy and range of quirky characters. Draws you in in a similar way.
Very off the wall, slapstick, random kind of humor. Something happening around every turn that is not what you're expecting.
Both of these shows involve space. Weather it be Mars or Venus... These shows are similar with character design too. Uchuu Kyoudai has a warmer feel though, and isn't based on gag comedy and remains more 'down to earth'.
They both depict the daily lives of the characters with the emphasis on their randomness.
Arakawa Under the Bridge and Inu x Boku SS revolves around weird, quirky people in one location.
Except that Inu x Boku SS revolves around the 1%, and Arakawa revolves around the 99%(with an additional 1%ter)
Very similar artwork
Both are very funny and there are many different and interesting characters
Wished there was more episodes for both shows =(
They both have that calm feel to it. They talk about important values and they are both one of those nice, gentle anime.
Looking for an anime about present days, sometimes stupid but really funny? You may like these two.
They are totally different in the atmosphere but they both are seinen, and they both share a Mature Romance plus the main character in both is an awesome businessman, who is an adult with his own moral for good.
If you like Arakawa, you may like Salaryman Kintarou.

If you liked the Arakawa under The Bridge you should watch Polar Bear Caffe :)

Good time to reflect on life and smile a little.
Both of these are great parodies. They are both hilarious comedies with a little bit of romance. The music was also catchy and cute in each. (Parodies are not for everyone) So if you loved or even liked one you like the other.

Both Arakawa Under The Bridge and Excel Saga are comedy and paraody anime based on random humour and improbable situations, although Arakawa has a little bit more story, and Excel Saga more randomness, respectivily.
Gag comedy. Both are not the extremely violent kind, and there are characters that question the sanity, thoughts and actions of the others. Both are enjoyable.
both these anime's realy mess with the suspenison of disbelief, making you wonder what is fiction inside the realm of the series and what is not.
Both series are produced by Shaft hence the outrageously humor that takes place in the series through the usage of word play.
Both series contain heavy use of dialogue as well as comedy, drama, and romance.
Ef - A tale of Memories swings a bit more on the mature side while Arakawa Under the Bridge features more on humor. Both series however contain an unique style that moves the viewer.
Well, these two series are quite absurd but in a rather fun and amusing way.
Both series has a ALOT of comedy, gags, and a strange cast of characters. With these cast of characters comes forth comedy, drama, and romance although presented in a peculiar way.
Both series' OP songs are very catchy. Additionally being part of Shaft, expect strange humor delivered to your eyes with a stranger story that is worth the watch.
Both have random OMG WTF!?! moments and they are both funny and addicting!
I think they both have the same kind of troll humor about how the main character is always 'bullied' by his environment. I enjoyed both of the series also because of SHAFT's hilarious way of producing every scene
What I like to call "Randomation"
A guy with serious issues.
A fairy normal person becomes involved with a group of not-so-normal people. Everyone has a quirk of some sort that is very fun to watch.
Both are very hilarous!!
Extremely similar animation style (the borders used in various frames are direct clones), similar episode pacing, same genre (supernatural romance comedy), same production company, same director, same sound director, same script writer, 3 of the 10 seiyu in NnA appear in AUtB.
Both are insanely hilarious.
Kyon and Recruit have a lot of similarities, especially in their role in the series. They're both surrounded by a quirky cast and see themselves as the 'normal' one.
Even though I have a bright future ahead of me , I'm willing to stay here with her for the rest of my life!!
In both show, the main couple has show strong bond, if not affection, for each other. In one show there is a realistic tearflooding reason. In the other show however, the reason is picked randomly from the book of random humor 1998. I will throw away every single bit of my dream!! (as NASA scientists or whatever) Jvzt 2 b w|th h3r!!
Share the wacky humor that are not bounded by the laws of physics. Character design are not bounded, either. Genetically you can't give birth to some organism like them, ever, with or without GMO. Another proof that anime studios are better than NASA in term of messing with mysterious lifeforms.
strange, colorful, funny and crazy.
Both are comedy shows with a male protagonist who is lost between two worlds.
Similar in the execution of plots and humour. Both are also quite random and were made by SHAFT.
Both are subversive comedies that frequently make you go WTF as you watch.
Strange characters, strange plot, unrelated scene.. this anime's not well known!! bust it's must see, sure u'll like it

They are both funny and romantic.... But the story is different.. If you like Kaichou wa Maid Sama, then you may like Arakawa Under the Bridge too... :DD
Both shows are animated by Studio SHAFT and has a similar, surreal type of humor and strange characters.
The main character finds a strange place and his life changes because of a woman. Also, both characters are surrounded by really strange creatures.
Both have quirky characters, a unique plot, and share some of the same voice actors.
both these anime have lots of comedy, and every character are unique in their own ways. also they seem to have somewhat of a romance going on in both anime.
Totally insane comedies. Arakawa's animation resembles Sunred's too, in my opinion.
Both anime have similliar feel, how they empasize deep meaning of both life, and relationship. not to mention they have a lot of same seiyu. The ending song both sung by Suneohair. If you like arakawa, surely you'll love honey and clover and vice versa.
