What a surprise, I thought that Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu was going to be another Anime with the same old stereotypes for all of the characters featured. But boy was I ever wrong, this Anime is the funniest thing I've ever seen. The stories are so elaborate and ludicrous, but logic isn't something on the menu today. FMP? Fumoffu is a spin off anime focusing more on the comedic aspect of Sousuke's story than the dramatic aspect. Which really gives the dramatic scenes more kick because of this in the other seasons. I mean, compare Fumoffu to Second Raid, they both comedic elements but it's pushed to the wayside for the drama. They don't even feel like they're the same Anime.
I'm glad that the main female character isn't some martyr who we're supposed to feel empathetic towards. There's been a lot of those types in Anime. The girl who we're supposed to believe is strong, but when it comes down to the brass tacks, they always seem to give up. Well, in the Full Metal Panic Anime series', Kaname isn't that kind of woman. She can stand on her own two feet and even puts a military strong man in his place. She does let Sousuke help her from time to time, but what she does nearing the end of Second Raid is pretty bad ass.
While the male lead on the otherhand, isn't a disgusting pervert. It's refreshing to see a male lead that treats women with respect and dignity. Sousuke, hardly ever suffers from the dreaded harem disorder. He's surrounded by beautiful girls from his class and office, but never once shows pleasure when one of them get's into a compromised position, instead he get's all panicky or doesn't know what the crap is going on! The poor guy is classified to be what TV Tropes describes as...The Accidental Pervert. Sousuke has poor real world skills, so he often gets mixed up in all sorts of situations. The supporting cast is also well developed, Mao and Webber have great chemistry with Sousuke and they make an unbeatable team in the whole Full Metal Panic universe. Now, there are some flaws that I can't leave out in my review.
Flaw number one, is my least favourite character in the show. Teletha "Tessa" Testarossa. Resident Moe Klutz Stalker, what have you. I know a lot of people like her, but I didn't. But, make that judgement call yourselves. Maybe Tessa will grow on you, she didn't with me.
Another flaw is the fact that the anime is way too short. I loved this season of the Full Metal Panic series most, it's extremely funny and the pace is much more relaxed. But, I did miss the huge Arm Slaves and epic battles. Well, there's always Second Raid.
Well, that was my review of Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu. Sorry if it was a little long, I needed to get a lot down to explain myself. Hopefully this was helpful for people to decide if they wanted to watch it. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good, light comedy filled with action.

First, I would like to say that Full Metal Panic! is one of my most cherished anime experiences, perhaps because it was the first series I ever watched all the way through. It's one of my favorites and had such a good blend of action and comedy that never failed to entertain. So here we are with the spin off Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, that blends comedy with...well, more comedy. Okay okay, so it does have some action and a bit of romance, but this is not an anime to watch unless you want some good laughs.
The series is basically episodic, but characters from other episodes pop up quite often. There is some good fanservice for those who have seen the original series too. Each episode revolves around a typical school situation turned into a disaster because of Sousuke Sagara's extreme military procedures. They all tend to be creative and very enjoyable. Out of the 12 episodes, there was maybe only 1 that I found to be subpar. The characters from the original series are as good as ever, and the new side characters are actually quite interesting and humorous. Because FMP?F is only 12 episodes long, it goes by fast, and nearly every moment is worth it. I found the final episode to be pretty clever and could be my favorite one.
The animation fits the humor perfectly. I can't really say if it's the best of its time because I'm not really sure, but everything is pleasant on the eyes. The voice acting is, as expected, awesome. Sousuke's calm attitude contrasts with Chidori's violent rage quite nicely. I have only heard the Japanese voice acting though. Music is a little bit on the dull side. It's not bad, per se, but it's certainly not going to win any awards. Most of the time the same tracks are recycled throughout the episodes because they represent a certain mood. This isn't bothersome, but you would think that it would make them more memorable for hearing each one so much, but nope, I actually don't remember most of the music. The voice acting and cool sound effects makes up for that though.
I loved Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu. It was hilarious, memorable, and always a joy to watch. I believe it could have gone on for another season or two and still not become tiresome, but we may never know...

I just love this series I wish that would make more 12 episodes just isn't enough I just wanted to enjoy moreof Sagara's adventures at a normal school after spending his entire life in military organisations and activities.
its just so funny how unadept he is in adapting to school.
For example blowing up the shoe boxes just because someone had opened his box and put a love letter inside, and then further confusing the lovely hand writting and sweet words of the remains as a challenge letter. Therefore he gets all camoflaged with a sniper rifle, hidden for 6 hours, watching the girl.
the show is just so funny, and I just loved every bit, I was laughing my head off through most of it, and just couldn't believe how amazingly funny and well executed it was, the rugby team's transformation, the onsen, the photography and the dojo. its just all so perfect.
I loved it and will recommend this to everyone. Just the things he does is just so funny. you will be laughing your head off, though its recommended that you watch the first full metal panic series first. read more

I dont write reviews so often but i figured for one of my favorite anime i could make an exception.
STORY
like all comedy anime FMP Fumoffu has no real story like its parent story FMP! but it still kind of shows some advancements in the relationship between kaname and souske but other than that the story line moves around in all directions.
ART
the art is fantastic i think the animation in very good and i think kaname is one of the cutest anime girls ever along with tesa.
SOUND
this anime has the best opening i have ever seen ... the song is great and the opening video is so good that is was worth watching it entirely for every episode.
CHARACTER
The characters are very nice and easy to fall in love with... i love kaname and tesa... tesa's personality is so warm and cute while kaname is your typical hotheaded female lead and then you have him... souske... he is nothing like any other character i have ever seen... the characters are awesome and very well animated
ENJOYMENT
I loved this anime!!!! this says it all ... i laughed a lot and found my self rewinding parts i found very funny :} read more

Story -
A bunch of mini-stories and mini-plot involving our lovable Chidori and favorite military freak, Sagara! It's full of fun and hillarity, you'll bust a gut!
Art/Animation -
KyoAni's first FMP series -- and its stunning animation. It's truly a great start and steps much higher than GONZO's piece of junk.
Sound -
Nice music, much nicer than FMP's OP song and a much nice ED song too. The inbetween music was pretty good as well. I had no complaints overall with the OST.
Character -
We see quite a lot of development between Chidori and Sagara, Kyoko, Mao, That One Guy and Kurz. It's relatively nice and interesting. It's a nice comedy and its driven very well throughout.
Enjoyment -
It was funny, entertaining and very good. It was outstanding, but words cannot do it justice as to how much I enjoyed this series.
Overall, I'd give it a 9/10. read more

I felt it was necessary to write a review thats not blinded from fan bias of the entire series. If you've seen the first season you already know the main plot, spunky school girl has a mysterious power and is being protected by a secret military organization; specifically by the 16 year old Serious Military Nut, Sousuke Sagara.
This series takes place between "Full Metal Panic" and "Full Metal Panic: The second Raid." If you have watched the first season you recognize the plot progression was an awkward mix of Comedy and action~ with the occasional dash of drama/romance.... this is where Fumoffu makes a huge drift from the first season.
Story: As if to spare fans the mediocre mix of Action/Comedy Fumoffu has no real action what so ever; It seems that the Action element of this series was saved for the 3rd installment "The second Raid" Which I highly recommend.
Without action the story focuses on cliche comedy that for the most part was already touched on in the first season. I have nothing against comedy, and one or two episodes were truly humorous, but in comparison to other series Fumoffu is below average in originality and it ignores the real plot. If anything this entire season feels like one long filler... there are 1-2 events that roll over to the next season... but they are clearly explained and insinuated so you could skip all 12 episodes and still make sense of the Second raid. (I accidentally watched them out of order myself... the title "The second raid" was misleading)
Art: The first seasons was mediocre and it seems they made no effort to increase the quality in Fumoffu.
Sound: It had a cute opening, and nothing was wrong with OST... there's was nothing outstanding about it though.
Character: They kept the same characteristics... no important new characters and very little development besides Teresa; who had stayed a mysterious character in most of the first season.
Enjoyment: 90% of Fumoffu made me cringe; it was just so cheesy in the worst ways, it had not real point, there was no drama or action. This season is the manifestation of everything that was wrong with the first season and more.
Do not let Fumoffu scare you from "The second Raid" though~ it is nearly a Masterpiece; what the first season had the potential to be times 2... but Fumoffu probably was just used as a cash cow in between... read more

Well, first thing to say is that if you didn´t watch the 1st season you won´t understand a lot, so...
This is undoubtelly the BEST anime I´ve ever watched, not only the story (which is not very very rich itself) but because of the fun you´ll get with it, Full Metal Panic is really AWSOME in that sense ! Sometimes you will cry of laugh with it, I recommend it to all thos who like school stories and a bit of fight ^^

The series was funny. There were some episodes I found funny (episode 10 is the winner), and some I found too cruel towards Sagara (episode 1a). But overall, I think the series is funny. Here are my only complaints:
1. Why does everybody threaten to kill Sagara? I mean they never do. They just tie him up/beat him real badly. But at the frame at the end which proclaims that the series is complete, these students aren't bared with fists. They have bats with nails, a chainsaw, a knife, a cheese grater, an ax, a spear, a wrench, a forck & knife, a scalpel, and other deadly weapons. Which leaves me with this: where do half-naked students get this kind of stuff, and does Sagara survive? I think he does (possible thanks to MITHRIL), but if this takes place AFTER Second Raid, he's as good as dead. Which makes me think that the good people at Mithril are the only good guys (Sagara, Kurz, Melissa, Tessa, Kalinin, Mardukas), and the Jindai High School students are b*tches/assh*les. Which is why I despise Kaname, no matter how kickass she is.
2. What is the deal with the police woman who goes to great lengths of PMS-style anger when the name "Sosuke Sagara" is mentioned? Someone needs to put her in a mental institution.
And finally...
3. If I was in this series, I'd kick all the Jindai High School students' asses (except Kyoko, Shinji, Ren, and the Student Council president, since they're the only ones even remotely nice to Sagara). That includes kicking the band members in the beanbags, kicking Tsubaki out a window, and locking Kaname in a cage, forcing her to swallow the key.
THAT's how much Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! p*sses me off. I prefer original FMP!, thank you very much. read more

These episodes are side-stories from the original Full Metal Panic! and are actually based on the manga. It has the original's characters, Sosuke and Kaname, but it also guest stars some of the original Panic!'s characters.
It's more lighthearted than the original series, and focuses mainly on the haphazard romance budding between the two main characters. Some of the greatest moments in the series come out of things that happen in every day life, following the age old tale of "Anything bad that can happen, will happen", with side-splitting results.
Obviously, I liked the series, and I could even say that you can enjoy this anime without watching the original Full Metal Panic!, because that's what I did. (heh) It does help to know the main backgrounds of the characters, though.
All in all, this was a really great show, and it has something everyone can enjoy. ^_^ read more

Story: 7/10
Kaname Chidori and her military bodyguard Sousuke Sagara are back in school, and back into insanity. Life is never usual with Sousuke around, as he just doesn’t get how normal teenagers act and behave, and struggles to understand what most would find as common sense. Don’t blow up lockers, guns are not an easy persuasion when the teachers are present, life is not the military, but in a way high school is a battleground of its own.
There really was no story. BUT, the comedy was excellent, it was so well done, nearly everything was laugh worthy. And the atmosphere was a lot more laid back and easygoing. The laughable material in the original was not well executed, it’s difficult to incorporate comedy in a pressing situation, and few Animes have been able to do that. But in high school the comedy fit in well. The ending was especially hilarious; (Aside from the Fan-Service.) they had me laughing all the way to the end.
Animation: 8/10
Kyoto Animation took over the animation, and did a wonderful job with it. It was nice to look at, and everything was clear and well shaded.
Music: 8/10
The music was better suited this time around, with some new scores and the less quality scores taken out. Also, there was nothing overplayed like there was in the first series.
Voice Acting: (Dub) 9/10
The voice acting was a lot better this time around. Luci Christian and Chris Patton especially, they found their groves and fit into their characters excellently, and a few of their lines were so well delivered, I paused while watching it and rewound just to hear the line again. The extras were also better voiced, not perfect, but a lot better then before.
Characters: 8/10
The main cast was a lot more likable, the comedy element played out each character’s personality correctly. In the first series, the main two characters were often yelling at each other and playing their relationship out in a more serious and negative way, it didn’t really work with their personalities. This time, they played it out less serious, putting the comedy element to each character’s personality, it set every character in a better light.
Over-All: 8/10 (Very Good)
I can’t explain it, there was a lot of objectionable material, but it was thoroughly entertaining. I didn’t have very high expectations because of its original, but I loved this Anime regardless. It was sometimes pretty creepy, but always a lot of fun. read more
