Just like Toei Animation's AIR movie, the CLANNAD movie is an adaptation from Key's game. Both movies have something about them that stands apart from the TV series adaptations by Kyoto Animation, making them very special. If you've already seen the AIR movie then you should know what i'm on about --- experience that again with the CLANNAD movie.
-Each girl receives her own arc
-Drama, romance, comedy, bromance, school life, all along with supernatural tones
- Heavy emotional involvement
- Involve watching someone slip away right before your eyes
- Touching character interactions
- Good character development (which Kowarekake no Orgel amazingly manages to do in 30 minutes)
- Moe
- Tugs on your heart strings
- Great music, including some tracks with powerful vocals

In reality, Kowarekake no Orgel is good if you're a fan of ANY of Key's works, but it's most similar to Air in terms of plot.
It has the same feeling though This one can't be watched without seeing the OVA's and Air can.
The characters in each series have similar outlooks on life, whether it's Tohru and Misuzu's opptimism, or Kyo and Yukito's pessimism, or Shigure and Haruko's general irresponsibility as a guardian. Both have themes of life, love, friendship, hurt, comfort, but most of all what it means to be part of a family.
And as an extra, the English dubs also share a couple of the voice actors.
Both are beautifully drawn, slow-paced, soft and dramatic at the same time, and both have the main character "take the Day of Flight".
Both are about an angel who was cursed to live as human and to die painfully in every life, in a never ending circle of reincarnation.
Both are about a curse of past lives that affect the current lives of the main characters. Both have reincarnation theme and are about love and bonds.
It's pretty similar. There is also a girl who wants to reach the sky and when i look at Yumemi from Munto I get the feeling that she's a clone of Misuzu .
The stories are both complex and a little hard to understand and there is also a character ready to sacrifice himself for the sake of others.
Both main characters tend to think out loud. In both films, the past and the present have a supernatural connection.
