The love triangle Matsuda-Yawara-Kazamatsuri is quite similar to the triangle Godai-Kyoko-Mitaka. The art style as well as the flow of the story are similar, too.

A reluctant high school girl, pushed into martial arts by her grandfather, with the whole thing followed by an aspiring sports reporter. That describes both of these series, leading me to believe that Yawara inspired Fighting Beauty Wulong to some extent. Of course, Fighting Beauty Wulong has a lot more fanserivce and focuses more on the flashy world of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts, as opposed to the Olympics, but it also has some great characters just like Yawara.

A good mix between sports and romance anime is a rare find. But fortunately these two anime are examples of such. In Yawara the sport presented is judo. Even if you know nothing about judo, by the time the anime ends you will learn enough to know the difference between Yuko, Koka, Wazari and Ippon. In Cross Game the sport presented is baseball. And similarly as in Yawara, by the time the anime ends you will learn the basic of the game. In both anime there is also a romance that's progressing nicely.

Protagonist is overpowered but doesn't care about it, this causes all sorts of situations, others envy both Saitama and Yawara and try to beat them but they never can.

Both are retro anime about a high-school girl who utterly dominates (and is pressured to participate in) a combat sport (judo/kick-boxing) that she cares nothing about. The main difference being that Yawara is over a hundred episodes long while Ayane-Chan's High Kick was cancelled after only two.

If you want to see more of the Judo arc, I recommend this anime because it was made by the same Anime studio Madhouse, and Gouda looks very similar to Hanazono.

Have the same development of characters?! but with yawara its a bit longer!? but both end up with the outcome of competing in the Olympics

Both concentrated on the life a person aiming to be a pro in some sport. In Yawara, the female is unwilling to play judo but is very skilled at it whereas in Major, the protagonist has a passion for baseball and will eventually as the title suggests, play in the Majors. Major follows the protagonist from childhood till adulthood while Yawara starts from high school life to adulthood. The love aspect is stronger in Yawara whereas in Major there is barely or slightly any love life involved (only one can be sensed but it doesn't affect greatly on the protagonist's game play as much as  read more

Both about two people who are working to be the best at their particular sport.

This series is also about judo and was one of the most loved titles for the late 80s.
