Both have similiar graphics and great history :D
Both are in my top favorite anime list. Both include an ordinary teenage girl who gets transported into a medieval era type world with strange creatures where they must fullfill a destiny. Yokko is a high-schooler though, while Kagome is a middle schooler, the demons in Inuyasha are replaced, but monster called Youmas in Twelve Kingdoms, most of which can't talk, instead of the "demons" being part human, there are people who can turn into animals. In Twelve Kingdoms, Yokko yields sword, while in Inuyasha, Inuyasha wields a sword. Kagome gets transported to the world to save it from a sacred jewel shard that gives demons power, while Yokko must become Queen of one of the kingdoms in order to save it from corrupt officials. Juuni Kokuki is more political and doesn't really have a romance element, but it is still really good.
Both have time traveling, but Fushigi Yuugi is based in China, while Inuyasha is in Japan.
Keeping all-long distances, Fifth Kara no Kyoukai movie and Inuyasha's last season hold similar development storylines, specially to both ends. ;)
Both protagonists have a "useless" human tagging along with them for one reason or another.
Both use swords bigger (or longer) than they are
Both have some kind of super power (wind scar, backlash wave etc while Shana has flame of heaven, her fire wings and exceptional detection of "intent to kill")
Both are very fast protagonists (combat wise)
Both have emotion issues and don't understand a lot of things (like how to treat a member of the opposite gender for example)
Both have an excessively powerful enemy which has hordes of different enemies (Naraku's incarnations and Bal Masques army leaders)
Kenshin and Inuyasha belong to an ancient japan. Both use swords, and both have two girls!! One of the past, and one of the present. Both have also a similar quantity of main characters.
