Yumeiro Patissiere is not a series with a unique storyline but it is definitely enjoyable and you would not regret watching it.
In my opinion, the first time I watched it, I find it a tad bit boring because this movie contains A LOT of fillers but the story progresses as you watch more episodes so do watch MORE episodes cause they will definitely get you hooked onto it.
Story: 8/10
It was a so-so story, not an original story (Think: Gakuen Alice) A girl who has no talents in cooking except eating but she does has an incredible palate comes into the story, recommended by a famous Patissiere and she goes to school and tries to get accepted.
But the story does get interesting as you watch more - to me, the part where they joined the Cake Grand Prix was REALLY interesting. It was so intense that I sometimes shudder at the thought of who won and who lose cause it is SO unpredictable that it makes the viewers wonder what will happen next.
There is a little romance in the series which makes it really cute! At first, I thought the addition of the fairies were a little silly since all they did was just chant a few noises here and there but eventually, I noticed they do play an important role in cheering the Team up.
I liked the chibi fairies and they were really cute especially Caramel-desu! Love her! And Cafe-kun of course.
The concept of the Sweet Princes were interesting as well.
Sound: 9/10
I LOVE the songs for the opening and the ending but I have to admit, the ending was more catchy :D Don't you DARE forget the background music (OST) They were INCREDIBLE. I loved the background music the most. Probably the best part of the series. You should take note of the background music from time to time asit really fits the mood.
For example, the sad ones would be really sad. Try listening - it has a soft melodic touch to it. Sometimes during the competition part, they play those "nervous" music which is really a nice touch to the nervous mood of the episodes.
Art: 9/10
I like the art. They were clean and crisp and the background is really nice. I'm a sucker for nice background art and it's important for them to look good. As for the desserts - DUDE, have you ever watched Yumeiro Patissiere and NOT get hungry? Cause I always tend to get hungry when I watch them.
And I crave for chocolates - A LOT.
Damn, these series sure makes me crave for sweets a lot even though I'm more of a fan of savoury. That proves the art is great ;)
Character: 9/10
Amano Ichigo is very much alike as most female protagonists - optimistic, cheerful, tries her best in everything although she has no skills - they're quite cliche aren't they? But I love them because in my everyday life - each time I'm about to say "I can't do it" I would always think of these characters and wonder to myself - if they can, I can as well. So these characters are a really great addition to the story.
The Sweet Princes - The characters are alright - Kashino being very mean spirited and all but that makes him really cute :3
Did I mention how much I love Hanabusa-kun's character? He is SO darn funny. Watch the series further to know more of his character. You would definitely love him.
As for the rest- the sweet spirits, they were really cute as well! Cafe-kun is super adorable.
Koshiro-san - one REALLY annoying girl that you would probably hate yet love because she's a great supporting character in the series.
Enjoyment: 9/10: Overall, it's a great watch which makes me happy because looking at how hard someone works just to be on top and even though it ain't reality, it's always good to step out of reality once in a while and enjoy yourselves watching light-hearted anime.
Overall: 8/10
Decent storyline but interesting as you progress. Definitely worth a watch ;)

Have you ever had a dream of being a patissiere? Have you ever dreamed of making everyone happy with what you make so that you wouldn't be thought of someone who's a failure? That is exactly Amano Ichigo's dream: to be a world famous patissiere and spread happiness through her sweets.
It sounds like a common story of how a kid strives to make her dreams come true. But this show actually got me and I don't know why. I didn't really like Mirmo de Pon and Gakuen Alice bore me a little but this anime really had me going from 1 episode to another. It's a good mix of Yakitate! Japan, Mirmo de Pon and the characters really reminded me of Gakuen Alice.
Don't underestimate this series, because I for one thought it wasn't something but I really got hooked to it - and I'm a fan of drama anime hahah. So if you want an inspiring, light and sweet anime, I really recommend this one to you.
My Final Ratings are:
Story : 7 > common but i really like the idea of the Princes of Sweets
Art : 8 > it is pretty good for a kid's anime but it isn't far from the styles of Mirmo and Alice Academy
Sound : 7 > A little repetitive but fits right in
Character: 8 > so far the characters are having really well developments and they have mysteries with their past
Enjoyment: 8> I AM a fan of sweets so i really enjoyed this anime. It also has it's fun and down moments that keeps it down to earth.
Overall: 8 > It' s really good for an one who loves food, cooking, great characters and a little magic

A clumsy girl with no talent discover that she indeed have a secret talent and her life changes, does this sounds familiar? You can find the same plot in a lot of shoujo animes. But the question is: What makes Yumeiro Pâtissière such a enjoyable anime to watch?
STORY (6/10)
The story isn't something great, but let's face the reality: 90% of the animes aren't original, they all use a plot which has been used before and some try to innovate it by adding some plot elements that weren't used before... And I have to say that while fairies, reverse harems and boarding schools have been used a lot before, it's rare to see food and sweets as a main theme in a series.
ART (9/10)
The character designs are the same to all shoujos: The girls are well made but all boys are bishonens, this is already expected. The charm of this series are the sweets. Yes, the sweets that were projected by a real pâtissièr and can make anyone pause the video to eat something at the kitchen before watching the rest of the episode.
SOUND (7/10)
Music is a key point at any series, be it anime or not. As expected from a shoujo anime, the opening is sugary and have a catchy tune. The opening theme, Yume ni Yell! Pâtissière isn't the best single of the year, but cleary isn't the worst. The ending theme, Ichigo no Miracle, surprised me. Even tough I sometimes hate and/or skip ending themes, the music grew on me and I hear it regulary.
CHARACTER (6/10)
Can you spell unoriginal? We have the tipical clumsy sweethearted heroine, the bishonen blond that starts coldhearted love interest, the ambiguosly gay but straight narcissist and the sane guy. We also have other cliched characters like the clingy and jealous love rival and tsunderes. So, is every character boring? No. While you can find characters like them in other series, shoujo or not, they are all easy to like (Except Koshiro Miya, who started as a clingy jealous girl but at the end of the series is a obsessive manipulator and is hated by the fandom), and a character whose backstory and development amused me was Tennouji Mari, meanwhile her love interest, Henri Lucas, is the most unexplored character in the series.
ENJOYMENT (10/10)
What can I say? This is a cliched sugary series but it's nearly impossible to not love it. If you are a fan os sweets as much as I am, then it's absolutely impossible to dislike this anime. This anime is enjoyable and funny, and one of the best non-magical girl shoujos that I watched.
OVERALL (7/10)
Lame? Yes. Good? Also. Every anime has good and bad points, some have more better points, while others have more bad points, and while I say that Yumeiro Pâtissière has more bad points, the few good points make this one of the best shoujo anime I ever saw, even tough I can't help but remember Shugo Chara! every time I see the Sweet Spirits (Especially Caramal, who even shares Suu's verbal tic). read more

If you happened to stumble across this anime like I did you might want to do yourself a favor and watch.
Over this anime is very good in my books the Art is magnificent, the story is great, and the characters are quite unique.
Ichigo Amano the main character is a very clumsy girl, and she has a sweet personality. Vanilla her sweet spirit is like a chibi french doll quite adorable but a little headstrong. As Ichigo progresses in school with the 3 Sweet Princes whom each have their own spirits, she faces constant scrutinizing from others and has to practice extra to get everything right.
Its very likeable and cute if you like female heroine titles, shes outgoing and very cheerful. The Sweet Princes balance off the anime quite well and ofcourse you have your school idol and evil girl gang in there as well. As its progressing right now if you like coming of age stories and friendship developments this anime is definitely for you.

If you are a shoujo and comedy fan, this is definitely for you. Although this is a cliched story line, you shoould still watch it-because this is the only subbed anime I know revolving around yummy sweets.
This anime is about a girl who goes to achieve her dream, and meets tiny sweet spirits that help her. I have to say, this is quite disappointing. The spirits don't instantly make her a professional, but it is really ONLY the spirits that let her turn into an amazing patissier. I mean, without them, she would so be failing. And, here the main characters relax and get help from spirits and the other background characters have to work super hard without them? Although as the story progresses, you totally forget about most flaws...
Also, the characters are cliched also. Amano Ichigo, our heroine, is the typical clumsy, peppy, work hard, dumb girl. However, it is because of this that there is good comedy, so I would let it slide. The others are fairly interesting. Hanabusa is a narcissist, which I don't see often. Andoh is the quiet kind and Kashino is the meanie who is often surprised by Ichigo's stupidity.
The art is good, though. Although the eyes seem a bit big at times, it's decent for people wanting good art. Nothing like bokura ga ita or the wallflower. THE SWEETS LOOK BEAUTIFUL!!! So yummy. You actually learn stuff too.
The music was average too. I actually downloaded the op. It's nice and fluffy, and not super repetitive like Pretty Rhythm's songs. I liked the sound effects. They made me laugh more!!! The voice actors quite matched the characters. The background music was really appropriate for their scenes.
There is one more delta. The problems. Some of them are ok, but sometimes I think that the problem's reactions are too exaggerated, or maybe it was just not explained right. I couldn't empathize with why the characters were making a fuss sometimes. Also, there were some fillers.
But the comedy was really good. Not stuff to make you ROFL, but decent enough! Plus, the Grand Prix makes it not a bunch of little problems, but new themes and new opponents and new obstacles. I loved seeing them overcoming them with creative yummy designs.
Overall, this is a cutesy anime for shoujo fans. For most shoujo fans, this will be the close-to-perfect anime-good art, good comedy, inspiring storyline, the slightest touch of romance. Despite its flaws, I still recommend this. Its flaws are, despite how they seem, minor, and you find yourself smiling and laughing as you walk with a girl's journey to achieve her dream. It is very touching and makes a bullseye to your heart. read more

Great cliffhangers that keep you wanting more. Silly jokes. Cute characters. Cooking competitions. They make desserts very episode and it's quite enjoyable. I love how cute this anime is, without it being TOO cute, to the point that it gets annoying. I am still watching it, but I guess it isn't done airing either. It is great if you like cooking and are patient enough to wait for romance (haven't seen much of any yet). But apparently it has some. I love that there isn't any ecchi or hentai, it is super clean, which makes it even better! I think this is made for kids, but I love it and I'm a female adult haha. I'm not sure if guys would really enjoy this...it's so cutesy. And one of the guys in the anime is kind of feminine and like roses a lot lol. Ok go watch it for yourself and see!!! ^_^
Warning: Watching this will make you really hungry. read more

Just wanted to post a review... It's my first review so it's kinda messy. Pardon me for that.
First impression: I was looking for an anime to watch during my holidays and stumbled upon this series. When i looked at the poster (or picture?), i initially thought that it would be a really kiddy, childish series something like mirmo zibang or maybe kirarin revolution. Both of which, which i hate to admit, i kinda enjoyed a little but got me a little bored towards the end.
One of the best things i like about the anime: The desserts. It got me interested in desserts, bakeries and the word 'patissieres'. Basically, it made me a greedy pig. ahahaha! It also made me very tempted to bake desserts.
Characters and sound: 6/10. It's not that i don't like the main character --> Amano Ichigo. But her voice is irritating, i'm not sure if it's the age of the character, as in maturity, or just the voice actress' voice. When amano is saying some in depth stuff, like how she wanna fulfill her dream and all, it comes in a really childish voice. Personally, i feel that even though Amano is young and immature and all, they really should use a more grown up voice, no? Not only that, the voice of the 3 sweet princes. Somehow, their voice is really mature. For their age. kinda deep. Compared to Amano. And i thought girls mature faster. I almost gave a 5/10 but their voices are sexy. ;D The score for characters are kinda low too because of the sweet fairies. Somehow, their role in this series are not very significant (Ignore this sentence or this lot if you love the sweet fairies...). It's important in it's own way and they are cute too, but their roles could be given up (or not exist). As companions, their roles are only important in the beginning of the story to help them to adapt to their environment, make friends and such. but they are only needed for the sweets cards and support after that.
Story and art: 8/10. I like the story despite my first impression of it. It turns out to be quite an inspiring anime with a message. Like 'Never give up your dream no matter how long it takes or how difficult it gets' or 'No matter what happens, you have your friends for support. Besides the msg, the dessertsss.... :DDDD
Enjoyment: 8/10. Brought me alot of laughters and stomach-pain moments. After watching one episode, i couldn't stop. Mainly cos i love this kind of competition scene. Can't wait for more.
Overall: 8/10. Recommended if you want something light-hearted and to pass the time. read more

For those who love shoujo anime I highly recommend this anime, because its unique and enjoyable. What I specially liked about it was the fact that it wasn't about transforming, fighting evil, or having supernatural powers. However, don't get me wrong I love those type of anime, but Yumeiro Patissiere has the same type of romance and lovable characters without the action. Its not just about baking as others say because it has flowing storyline and romance, but don't take my word for it and try it!

I was surprised by how much I'm enjoying this series, it's better then your average shoujo.
Story
Focused on the character's ambitions in the desert making industry. It flows quite well and although at times repetitive is entertaining. Has hints of magic and romance and the subplots are often as good as the main story.
Art
Not outstanding but not lacking either.
Character
This is where Yumeiro Pâtissière excels. The main character Ichigo is cute and likeable (although her voice drives me crazy :l) and the 'sweet spirits' add a lot of the shows humour. The characters are starting to develop and its interesting to watch.
Sound
Some nice songs throughout, although yes they are repetitive.
Overall
I'd recommend this to anyone looking for something with some light romance and humour. Its very easy to watch but don't have high expectations, it wont win any awards ;) read more

Ahh, Yumeiro Patissiere... your very basic, formulaic shoujo anime.
Cute, klutzy shoujo = check
Magical element = check
Bishounen to drive your heroine crazy = check
Although it's pretty basic and very innocent, it's what makes it such a cute anime! If you love feel-good, learn life-lessons, shoujo anime, you'll love Yumeir Patissiere. You have your klutzy heroine who learn important lessons in friendship, perseverance, being true to one's self and maybe even love! You have loads of characters with the Sweet Princes and the spirits and the episodes and cute and endearing, if not overtly innocent. The main comedic relief would have to be Ichigo. She's clumsy and all but her blurts and sarcastic lines are actually quite enjoyable. But hey, I kinda like the innocence of it all. One thing I always look forward to is the desserts! The illustrated desserts are beautiful and you actually learn a good bit of things on baking and making sweets. You see sweets you've never even heard of and it may drive you to explore and get into it as well (I know I googled opera cake, got a nice recipe and am ready to make one!). Overall, again, if you're into shoujo anime and love cute things, then you'll love Yumeiro Patissiere.
Art: 7- Good sometimes, but really odd other times.
Story: 7- Cute shoujo story and it's got a nice pacing. Nothing hard-core, but realistic and entertaining.
Sound: 7- I know I have the OP stuck in my head.
Character: 8- A good few characters, each is developed considerably and I'm sure there's more development to come.
Enjoyment: 7-8- Very cute and the comedy is nice also. A good time, no doubt about it. If you're into this sort of stuff.

Spoilers ahead.
What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice and everything nice, that’s what little girls are made of.
Fifty episodes. Ichigo remains sweet and kind through fifty episodes of crepe-making, dough-kneading, chocolate-tempering mayhem. She is partnered with the Sweets Princes, three boys each uniquely gifted in his own area of sweets-making. Each human is paired with a miniature Sweets Fairy in training. That makes eight members, and eight is the perfect number for a team: Team Ichigo, Happy Happy Macaroon, Happiness Made Go!
The problem is that Ichigo is all thumbs, with a proclivity to trip over her own feet, down the stairs and onto her face. But with the help of her Sweets Princes and her Sweets Fairy, Ichigo works hard to build the skills needed to showcase her genius sense of taste and preternatural ability to read people’s hearts (not only is she able to taste FIRST LOVE in a pastry, but she specializes in sweets that make others smile). Faster than you can make Friendship Maccha Gateau Chocolat, Team Ichigo is ready to enter the Cake Grand Prix.
To quote Hannibal Lecter paraphrasing Marcus Aurelius, “Of each particular thing ask: what is it in itself? What is its nature?” Yumeiro Patisserie in itself is a pastry. It is the nature of a pastry to be enjoyed. Even Chekhov, who didn’t approve of artists as pastry chefs, might have reconsidered had he met Ichigo. Irascible Kashino is tempered by her warmth. Perfect Tennouji is baffled by her affability. In the end, Ichigo stands atop the baking world with a dream strawberry tart that would make her grandmother proud, and only a real curmudgeon wouldn’t be happy about that.
Three obligatory remarks:
First, the animation is straight-forward, the backgrounds drawn without much depth, and most frames are suffused with light. The character designs are shiny and flat. Ichigo actually seems to grow taller and less childish by the end of the series.
Second, the music. The theme with the whimsical flute playing off the clarinet was fitting, reminiscent of the Dance of the Mirlitons.
Third, voice characterizations. Caramel’s voice was adorable. The rest fell somewhere within the spectrum of nasal and high-pitched, with Miya the heiress’s laugh as the tonal equivalent of fingernails on the chalkboard.
Grade: C+ but only because Miya’s voice provoked me.

Yumeiro Patissiere. It's not exactly the most orginal storyline nor is it really that outstanding when you look at the plot. You may think; "Oh, just another typical anime" but let me tell you this, you've got that wrong. Okay, so the storyline might be a bit cliche. Okay, it's a bit girly and childish with fairies and magic and the main character always winning the competitions but honestly it's hard to stop when you start watching it and you can never get tired of watching it!
Story: 8/10
Like I said earlier, it's not exactly the best storyline but it has it's perks! It gets really interesting as the series progress. Just got to have some patience! Also, keep in mind that this anime targets children viewers, not adults therefore they need to keep the storyline simple so children don't have a hard time following.
Art: 9/10
The art is awesome! It's fluent and well drawn. It brings out the childishness of the audience and keep in mind the targeted age group are children so it fits.
Characters: 8/10
Most characters do develop in the course of the series with their personal backgrounds revealed and personalities clearly portrayed. Although, I would've liked to see Makoto-kun's feelings for Ichigo develop more. I wanted Makoto to show his love for Ichigo more! I wanted romanceee (kyaa~) But yeah, it's a kids show so i'll cut it some slack :)
Enjoyment: 10/10
I absolutely enjoyed it! It was funny, cute and the I was really in to the baking and the making of sweets! I loved almost everything about the anime and I can't stop re-watching! I truly enjoyed this anime 100%!
Overall, I gave this anime 10/10 because not even the lack of unique-ness of the storyline can make me unlike it. I might have re-watched this anime more than 10 times. It's just really that enjoyable. Plus, it made me want to eat sweets and learn to make them! GAVE ME INSPIRATION! So definitely 10/10 overall :)

hey dont judge this anime just because its full of kids! kids can be awesome they try to fulfill their dreams of becoming Pâtissière and make everyone happy with their sweets. Don't think that becoming a Pâtissière is stupid because i know you people out there are probably stuffing your face with cakes.
Enjoyment: 10
i love it! The sweets they make actually make me really hungry at times and i wonder why can't my local bakery make cakes like that? >:(
character: 9
i dont know why but i really ichigo's dad because he sort of resemble my dad. They're both scared that one day their daughter will grow up and move far away from them. i dont like hanabusa though he's sort of narcissist and i dont think he's handsome. But on the other hand kashino is so awesome and sexy XD
Art: 10
the arts great, it's filled with details. Every character is pretty cute especially the sweet spirits. And lets not forget about the sweets they make! Amazing looking and pretty realistic.
Overall i just really like it i think im going to make some cookies now.

Story: 9
I really love the story. It's all about sweets, friendships, a little bit of young love, family, and bonds. For me, this has a great plot. It's inspiring, especially to those who likes to be a patissiere/chef someday.
Art: 7
The art is good. The fairies are cute, especially. The way it's drawn reminds me of the anime Gakuen Alice. I just rated it as good because I didn't really like they're huge eyes. It kinda bothered me. =,=" (pardon~)
Sound: 8
I love both the opening and ending songs. The messages of the songs really fits YP. x3 (well... don't all anime songs do? xD)
Character: 8
Well... I could say that the characters are the typical ones we see from other anime, but Ichigo, like Mikan Sakura (Gakuen Alice), really gives off a bright aura.
Enjoyment: 10
Outstanding! Well... that's for me. I really enjoyed watching all the episodes (especially the last episode. ;">). It's just so much fun to crave for foods that I believe would take me years to buy and/or even bake/cook myself! xD
Add the fact that the sweets in the series are really existing... I just can't help myself but dream of visiting Paris once I grew up! >. read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ANIME! :) Its not just a normal drama, or action anime. Its mostly about following your dream, baking, a little bit of romance, school, and friendship! so if your interested in these, i think youd LOVE this anime as much as i did! This anime really inspired me of finding a talent, and yah. Especially the main character, Ichigo Amano is one of my biggest inspiration now, i want to be just like her. I love her character and i think the story is really good! They made episodes where you can know more about each character's background and you learn more about them. Every time i finish an episode it leaves me hanging, and i just want to watch more! Ive watched this season about two times and it never gets old! I also love the development between Ichigo and the Sweet Princes! I also really love this anime is also because I LOVE CAKES AND SWEETS in real life! So it also inspired me to bake more, and i hope it inspires you too :D read more

This is definetly a SWEET anime. I think that it has a good plot and the artwork isn't that bad either, but when I watched this anime I absolutely fell in love with Ichigo. She seems so cute and innocent. I had a feeling that I would like this anime, because I aspire to be a patissier. The only thing I regret when watching this anime is that when I watch it, I have the feeling to walk down stairs and eat all the junk food that I can get a hold of, but other that that I have a feeling that this is a great anime and it is perfect for younger people. read more

Typical cuteness anime. Girl with no abilities gets helped by cute looking boys. In the end boys learned a great lesson from the girl.
great. loved it.
