*Hekiou Academy Student Council Meeting Log*
“… I am Kaicho (president), I am KaichoO! By the way, does the president do anything?” – excerpt from episode 11’s ending theme.
What happens when four pretty girls and one handsome guy spend most of their school time everyday in a confined room? Naughty thoughts aside, if you were thinking “oh my god, not another harem” then you were right! Seitokai no Ichizon is NOT a harem, strictly speaking (though our male protagonist tries very hard to make it so). In reality the poor dude gets bully by his female mates more than he ever deserves. So who might this anime be good for? If you are looking for a parody that pokes fun at itself and the entire anime industry in general, then Seitokai no Ichizon will surely meet and most likely exceed your expectation! In fact not only does it do a good job with the too-frequent parodies, but with high quality animation, and impressive new ending themes every episode, Seitokai no Ichizon is a great anime for all ages.
The story of Seitokai no Ichizon centers around the everyday “adventure” of the student council in Hekiyou Gakuen high school. Its setting primarily consists of one place, the student council room, although exceptions do occur in the show from time to time. Now you must be wondering, what can a show that limits itself to one cramped room has to offer? Surprisingly the answer is, plenty. With plenty of jokes and plenty of parodies targeted at other recent well known anime, there is never one boring moment in the show for viewers to complain about. Even if the story itself does not attract the viewers enough due to its random episodic events, but by combining the story with the character interactions, nice consistent animation, superb voice acting, and addictive soundtracks and theme songs, Seitokai no Ichizon has some of the deadliest combination to make it stand on its own ground.
It was interesting for the characters to repeatedly admit that “nothing ever happens” in their show. And yet they never fail to entertain the viewers with what they can do to make the show appealing solely by chatting. In fact, it is hard to judge these characters in any normal anime standard because they are out of the ordinary. As the casts themselves have put it, “This is where we end after airing twelve episodes? … The main character is supposed to mature after a time (but) … nothing changed.”. They poke fun at their own lack of character growth, but in actuality most characters have had their fair share of developments through learning about each others’ past or family problems. The characters certainly made a positive impact to the overall success of Seitokai no Ichizon due to their unpredictability.
The animation is nothing but greatness. The characters are very nicely designed and even the one and only classroom is very detailed in design with a large variety of decorations and hidden rooms. Fluid scene to scene transition, consistent high quality animation, and a great choice of “scenery” also made Seitokai no Ichizon very attractive to the eyes. Additionally, comedic-like faces on the characters whenever a random chat start appearing also helps crack people up. The animation definitely is another strong point that makes up for the lack of story.
At first I was very skeptical with the seiyu in this show because all the main female leads are apparently voiced by rookies. Yes, they are ALL rookies. New to the anime industry, these female seiyu all tried exceptionally hard to make themselves stand out as a bright star. Unfortunately they were all excellent in voicing their roles so I could not say who seem to be the most talented (unlike in other shows where one can clearly tell some seiyu just don’t go well with the particular role at all). It is, however, quite clear that these voices bring life to the characters in the series and bring entertainment to the viewers.
Special honorary mention goes to the ending themes. Whether they are good or not, one must admit it was creative of the producers to make a unique ending song (same rhythm different lyrics) for each episode thus resulting in a total of TWELEVE ending themes. Even without the lyrics (and I strongly urge you not to miss them), the songs in itself is tremendously addictive. In fact, I could dance around my room all day with the song set on repeat in my computer. The opening, while less catchy, is still very pleasant to hear and once again it showed us the talents these new seiyu possess.
Seitokai no Ichizon is a wonderful addition to the anime industry and made itself stood out among the mist of millions of other similar anime largely due to its parody at poking fun at itself and everything anime-related. The jokes are never too old or too repetitive throughout the show and the references are relatively simple to grasp (provided you are semi-familiar with recent anime). Keep in mind the show is made in Japan and is intended for Japanese viewers who most likely have a more knowledgeable database of the anime series in Japan than we do. If you don’t seem to be able to spot a parody or two in an episode, chances are, you have already missed out on some of the jokes they are making fun of. In that case, you should reconsider whether to continue watching the series or not. Lastly I would recommend anyone who have trouble at school, whether it is your grade or having trouble making friends, to try playing love simulation games (ie. harem games)! read more
Seitokai no Ichizon: the title is enough to summarise the series in three words as the story of each epsiode unfolds. I am really fond of the intelligent jokes I encountered up the point where I rolled on the floor laughing about a hopeless protagonist that acts like an animal in heat going on about his harem and the beautiful girls that complete his entourage each with totally different personalities that only make his task harder.
The series itself is a story that holds a smaller story in every episode with little connection between them,The animation is very good especially on the student council president, the OSTs are very soothing making you think you have a somewhat duty to watch over them, but maybe that's just me.
Finally I want to talk about the main theme of the series, friendship, which is most important for a high schooler as they share moments of their life studying, goofing around, relying on each other for support. Such acts create bonds between people that are visibile in this series thats why I recommend it to everyone who enjoys this genre read more
Both are about a Student Council with all girls save one boy, whom they are often giving a hard time.
Both revolve around a male student in the student council. The only difference is that in Ichizon, the male has dirty thoughts and with Yakuindomo, the girls have dirty thoughts.
The two anime's are rather similar to each other because they both deal with a funny Student Council , where all the members are girls except for one guy. And the comedy in it is mostly the student council talking about stuff.
one of the big differences in this is that in Ichizon they show more ecchi scenes whereas in Yakuindomo they talk about ecchi stuff .
i enjoyed both of them allot and i think that if you liked Ichizon you'll probbly like Yakuindomo
A Student Council with all girls and one guy, but the only difference is that in Sitokai no Ichizon, the guy actually wants a harem while in Seitokai Yakuindomo, the guy tries to avoid being in a "harem"
Anime in which most of the events occur in the Student Council's room. In both the Council is represented by a group of girls and only one boy.
Both about the student council. In No Ichizon the guy is always thinking of perverted things but, in Yakuindomo it's all the girls that think of the perverted stuff
Both series are about Student council with one guy and girls
The plot is similar with joke and some parodies, perhaps some dumbness of the student council's president as well
Both focus on a Student Council for a school. Both have 1 boy in the Student Council who are both the vice president
Pervy Student Councils are fun. Oh so very fun. Main difference is where the "perv" is in each seires. Seitokai no Ichizon has a pervy male, Seitokai Yakuindomo has pervy females. Did I mention they both have lolis? Both situations, the male suffers |D
Both have stories set in the school counsel, with 1 guy and many girls, many anime parodies, sex talk (the male in Ichizon, all the girls in Yakuindomo). Ichizon has fewer ero jokes and slightly more plot, but otherwise the two are very similar
Both anime are comedies involving student council, but are not purely about what the group does. Both anime are joke based. 'Seitokai no Ichizon' being a parody style anime with jokes about harems, while 'Seitokai Yakuindomo' is a comic-strip style anime with jokes that are explicit and sexual in nature.
Essentially the same series with the gender of the boke/tsukkomi routine reversed. Both series premises are held in the student council and both are light-hearted comedic series.
Student Councils, both involves a guy surrounded by beautiful girls etc. :)
Both of them take setting in student council, with only one male student and some girl students. While Yakuindomo focus on dirty jokes and slapstick, Ichizon got some nice parodies and a little romance in it.
not exactly same, since Seitokai no Ichizon contains harem portion, but if you want to watch jokes...
Main male characters in both series are the sole male member in their respective student council. Though surrounded by high-spec girls, both characters have to deal with the teasing and problems in their student council life.
Tone down the perverse nature a tad
Have the male protagonist being perverted
Add more girls
and you have Seitokai no Ichizon.
If my brief description was not enough to convince you, at least watch an episode or two so you can decide for yourself.
Both are sitcoms featuring a boy in an all-girl student council with no particular plot and random jokes
Well it has the same similar settings as the main character. It has the same overall feel and atmosphere of the animes. Both animes are really funny and easy to get into.
Seitokai no Ichizon seems to have a more parody like comedy with well re-used jokes. There is a lot more moe in this anime as well.
Seitokai Yakuindomo has more comedy based on mature "things" but its still nonetheless friggen hilarious.
They both have a female-dominant cast. They both take place in a student council. They both have "Seitokai" in their names.
Both have LOL moments. In both, the male protagonist was part of the Student Body Council for different reasons. And the female cast for both love to mess around and make jokes. In a way, the Student Body Council sometimes takes there work seriously and the other times, have fun like the teenagers they are. Seitokai no Ichizon has more drama, and Seitokai Yakuindomo has more comedy with mature jokes XD
Taking place in the school grounds, it follows the daily lives of the high school students in a student council room, hence the name Seitokai meaning "Student Council." Their meetings are somewhat enhancing their school with improvements, and structuring themselves to make it more appealing. One unique segment about the shows is the main male character where romance make things interesting or a comic relief character.
Seitokai no Ichizon, is basically a parody show, somewhat moe characters, and a perverted main character. Seitokai Yakuindomo, features tall teenagers, enhancing school content, and perverted jokes, with the normal male character.
BOth are comedies about student council consisting of females and only one male. Both are comedies with dirty jokes, but Seitokai no Ichizon has also reference jokes.
Cute girls in school comedy, the same sense of homour and a lot of parody.
Being a parody show, seitokai no ichizon is made with the full awareness of lucky star. The first episodes steals a few screens from lucky star as the show is fully expecting the viewers to cross over. To not have seen LS is to miss the very language of the show and its references.
Cute girls and it parodies other anime.
Both are parody and reference anime. The club thing isn't there, but its moe and loli all the same.
Seitokai no Ichizon are much inspired on lucky star. Both have a group of 4 main girls (In Seitokai no Ichizon plus a male in group), much anime parodies, mainly for suzumiya haruhi. School life and slice of life themes also.
Also, Seitokai no Ichizon parody lucky star.
When i saw the anime, I quickly thought "it's so much like Lucky Star", they both have anime parodies and no plot. :P lol, really fun to watch!
Seitokai no Ichizon has the same silly humor and a load of parodies (that aren't censored out :D) If you're looking for a nice, new, light-hearted anime, this is for you ^_^
Both animes are pretty much plotless
Both have a lot of female characters
Both have tons of moe
Both have a lot of parodies of other animes
Both have some really funny moments :3
These anime are both really random and they both have a lot references.
These two shows are very similar in the make tons of references and give great laughs for all true Otakus.
Seitokai no Ichizon have a lot of parodies of others animes, as Lucky Star. The two animes are very funny ^^
Both with lots of anime references, with many from Suzumiya Haruhi. The characters for both shows fall into the moe genre. Both are very light-hearted and funny shows with little to no plot advancements.
Ichizon also had a direct reference to LS.
Both of these animes feature a group of cute girls, their main focus is humor, and use various references.
A bunch of girls making liberal use of meta-humor and making references to other anime.
Cute girls that do absolutely nothing within the span of the anime's showing. Each girl in both series feature some sort of archetype, and they all reference various anime from various places. (They reference Haruhi a lot for some reason). A fun way to kill time if you want something not so serious.
