Both are exactly same kind of anime, I feel that shinchan is the newer version of Hagimaru. Both the character designs are same, same kind of background, same kind of dirty jokes. The only difference is there is some slice of life moment in shinchan while it is absent in Hagimaru. Switch off your brain and laugh while watching these two shows.

They have the same 'crazy nonsensical' comedy and both also have the same profound way of interaction between characters.

Both Chibi Maruko-chan and Crayon Hagemaru revolves around the daily lives of a youngster (Maruko-chan being a 9 year old and Hagemaru a 4 year-old), including their relationship with their family and friends. They are also both funny. Switch off your brain and laugh while watching these two shows. Both are slice of life shows. Both have stupid type of characters. Both are comedy and slice of life. Both are about kids in a small warm family. The art style of both series is cartoony and unique. Both have main character with a unique personality. Many of the jokes in both series are occasionally weird  read more
