Same director, similiar plot trops, very detailed graphics, similiar atmosphere.
- Both center around Japanese politics.
- Both are about special policing units within the country.
- Both have top notch action sequences.
Both animated and directed by Production I.G. who give these movies great depth and insight into future political turmoil.
They both share a very similar style, atmosphere, use of music and fantastic animation. Although the stories may differ, they together create the same feelings and deserve to be seen.

Both have dark futuristic setting, similar artstyle. Both revolves around terrorism and riots. A good amount of action and drama is present too.
Both are action dramas that deal with the police struggling against underground civilian forces after a major war.

Every time I saw the Sorcerists in their armor, it reminded me of Jin-Roh. Two action flicks, although Jin-Roh has a slightly better story and is much more gut-wrenching. Would recommend either.

Both are dark, desolate, depressing examinations of human politics and nature in a dystopian society with a slow pace, beautiful animation and incredible ending.

Both of them are made in no-anime style. I don`t mean graphic ( but in Jin-Roh it`s more realistic than nice). These works resemble serous movie so much like director didn`t find any good actors and decided to make an anime.

Both are military, science fiction-like and highly psychological. The athmosphere of Jin-Roh reminded me of the Ghost in the Shell TV Series.
You should see both at least once!

Both are movies that are fictionally adapted from stories that we all read/heard as kids.

While they have somewhat different settings, i think they share in essence the illustration of inhumane warfare with drastic animation. Jin-Roh takes a more serious and realistic approach, but Pumpkin Scissors can be convincing as well.

Both are fast paced, deeply philosophical, and bloody, action-packed dramas.

both tragic in its twisted, bloody way...

Both movies feature a great soundtrack, a dark atmosphere and both feature similar characters; in both design & personality.

The Sky Crawlers and Jin-Roh have very deep an intricate plots, drama, love, and of course talking. There are both great action scenes in both movies. Both movies are made by Production I.G., also, so they share a similar art style. (one little easter egg: there is actually a character in The Sky Crawlers named Jinroh)
