Another Cultivation Donghua Review

Story: (6/10)
It is a typical cultivation donghua where everyone discriminates against the MC in an unfair manner and even his own relatives donot like him. He also has to take revenge on his Uncle for killing his father and making him and his clan slaves and saving his sister from prison.

Animation: (10/10)
It has one of the best 3D animations that I have seen in a Donghua until now (may be cuz I watched it in 4K). Every character and scenes are detailed and looks awesome. Fight scenes look nice even if there are a lot of things going on.

Characters: (7/10)
The MC learns ... a secret technique that enables him to defeat a lot of stronger opponents even with a low cultivation level. He has a character arc but there were some eps where I disliked him for doing a few things that he should have considered the consequences for.
Also, it goes without saying it is a HAREM series; I could count 2 characters that may have further romance developments in future.

Entertainment: (8/10)
This has a lot of fight scenes with a super animation; So, I definitely enjoyed it. There are not much comic moments which I missed here.

Overall: (8/10)
This was a great donghua with super animation and an OK-ish story but the fight scenes are awesome. I have not read the Manhua but I definitely recommend it if you are an animation-only fan.

The original story is pretty good, but this show is disappointing. I've read through to about chapter 1200 in the novels.

It's a typical Chinese cultivation story start where everyone discriminates against the protagonist and they rise to the top from there, with everyone unfairly picking on them for no real reason.

The story has been modified enough that I'm a little confused about what's going on. Certainly I don't remember any amnesiac ice girls in the story. If she's who I think she is, she shouldn't show up for hundreds of chapters yet.

The action scenes seem to ba a CGI fiesta, but it's often really hard ... to follow what's going on. It needs more emphasis on the plot and less on the animation.

I'll stay with it for a bit, it may well improve. It's probably better if you haven't read the novel. It mightn't be so bad if you've only read the manhua (manga) as that skips through so much of the early story that you won't have known what's going on anyway.

Just from the first episode, the CGI animation was hard to watch physically, so much that it actually gave me a headache. Too much action in frame at one time, too much frame movement/zooming, lots of dark/light contrast -- maybe it gets better later, but it isn't for me.

As a reader of the manhua I agree that the story has been modified such that I could not follow along. My preconceived notions of the story line made it harder to understand on top of the animation issues I mentioned above. I always try to give a manga/manhua adaptation a chance, but I don't think I'll ... be able to with this one.

For now, I will stick with the manhua to see how Luo Zheng progresses.
