The Highlights
Animation: Improved quality; same beautiful artwork.
Story: Different from original; more focus on action and fantasy.
Ending: Trails off...

In some aspects the TV series was better than the OVA – in others worse.

Of course the series is stand alone, yet I feel that fans of Oh My Goddess! will have seen the original prior to this 2005 production. Spanning 26 episodes, the television series allowed for further development of characters, including side characters such as the other Goddesses, Urd and Skuld. However, this costs the viewers side episodes that have little relevance to the main story. Not that those episodes aren’t enjoyable in the fashion you’d read more

Keiichi makes a phone call and then suddenly a Goddess appears before him. Ah My Goddess is an instant girlfriend romantic/comedic slice of life that's actually done right. There are a few fillers here and there and it is not as plot based as some other romance series but overall it just gives a positive impression overall.

The drawing style is very colorful with strong greens and blues creating a very peaceful (Earthy) feel that blends well with the music and OP. Though the drawing isn't as crisp as 2010 series, it is still fairly good. Belldandy and adult Sculd are drawn nicely and yes you read more

You know the scenario. A lovable loser of an otaku (in this case the obsession is vehicles, motors, and machines) has a beautiful, mysterious woman enter their life by some magical circumstance, and this person begins to help them solve all their problems and realize their faults, and then somewhere along the way love blossoms. Reading the summary when I discovered this show was almost enough to turn me away right there, but something compelled me to have a go of it, if only to see the main work of the character designer Kosuke Fujishima of the great Tales Of series of video games. Surprisingly, read more

The story could certainly be hard to describe without spoilers, however if you have already watched the anime, heard about it, or simply read the synopsis, then please read on.

The story advances at a steady pace, however sometimes it can be slow while sometimes it can be fast. I personally thought the story was interesting, and it intrigued me to watch more and more of it. There are no filler episodes, as each episode contributes to something within the story. Thankfully no episodes have extremely long talks, nor do they have "no action". There will always be a little bit of action, and comedy in read more

Anime: Ai Yori Aoshi
Both series are lightly comedic romances (with harem elements) in which a fairly ordinary college student is suddenly visited by a beautiful yamato nadeshiko type woman who becomes his romantic partner.

Anime: Onegai☆Teacher
Same funny story about a guy who gets visited by a women..same slightly sexual humor as well. The only difference is that in ah my goddess the women are goddesses but in onegai they're aliens.

Anime: Sekirei
Very similar set up, Hot girl appears, she has magically powers, they start living with each other. Later other magical girls appear. They have adventures and battle. While the main character (a simple man) and the magical girl have a funny relationship etc.

Anime: Love Hina
I both anime there is one boy surrounded by many girls in the same house. both main boys in these series are really unfortunate most of the time, but they make it up with speaking from the heart.
both anime are focusing a lot on comedy with a hint of romance. if you like one of these you'll surely like the other too. :)
