A beautiful girl with magical powers accompanies a mysterious bishounen with a mysterious past and a dark agenda on a journey. Compared to the girl in Hatenkou Yuugi, Hakushaku's girl is a little more timid and her powers are more passive than active (she can communicate with fairies, but she can't cast spells--at least, not as of the first episode). Also, whereas in Hatenkou Yuugi, the girl is genuinely a companion for her two bishounen friends, in Hakushaku she is more a servant of the duke, and at his mercy.
Female leads have very strong personalities. Both series are specific comedies with a lot of magic elements, bishounens and of course both are romance.
Both stories mostly made of romantic line as a background to some adventures. The main heroine doesn't seem to be taken seriously by main male characters. Btw th romantic line is partially indefinite (no clear-cut love and kisses ending for you).
Both main characters are lovable, and in both you can find supernatural beings ang lots of magic. Not to mention similarity between main male characters, in behaviour and irony. Although romance in Hatenkou is more hidden, one can also clearly see it, Hatenkou is also a bit darker in themes and plot.
In both animes, the female (main protoganist) has a very strong personality, insisting to achieve her personal aims, heartwarming, not the typical disturbing high-school girl; more the thoughtful person.
The two main characters as well share their two bishounen-surrounders, with whom she experiences a lot of 'adventures' - also romantice situations, though these are unfortunately just hinted. Both Females own some sort of magical power, though one is more physical and the other rather psychic.
For short: Both animes, just like the characters have got quite the same feeling and share lots of simlitaries and share quite the same genres (comedy, adventure, fantasy).
The characters felt the same and both travel with two guys on a adventure out of the extraordinary. both are great anime to watch

Set in 19th century England, both have bishounen, some supernatural and magic element. Both are comedy with a little bit of action (in Kuroshitsuji there is much more)
Raven and Sebastian are quite simmilar (something for "Yes, my lord." fangirls).
Earl and Fairy will make you smile and Kuroshitsuji will make you cry but both are worth watching.
Sebastian and Raven are both devoted butlers with demon-alike abilities, English nobility everywhere, XIX century setting and I guess that's all.
Raven and Sebastian are very similar. Both are butlers with demon-like abilities that are extremely loyal to their masters. Both of them are mysterious and 'cool' and are there to help whenever trouble arises.

Although a totally different age and setting, the blond male protagonist struggles throughout the anime to seduce the reluctant and female protagonist. Both are nicely embroidered with some light romance and comedy
Though the setting is utterly different and the atmosphere as such have a different feel for each, there are many similarities in the characters and their chemistry. The male lead is a handsome blonde with ties to wealthy families and mysterious past who seems to be openly infatuated with the female lead - and are. The female lead on the other hand is a smart, independent woman who doubts the sincerity of the other.
Hakushaku to Yousei has more of a deeper storyline and is more serious or intense (is set in the 19th century) while Kaichou wa Maid Sama is lighter, a lot funnier and doesn't have a hugely important storyline.
Both anime have a strong female lead character and the male protagonist is mysterious yet charming, though Earl and Fairy is fantasy unlike Kaichou wa Maid-sama!.
Both have a girl who doesn't trust men. Edgar and Usui are similar in many ways, but the plot is original enough to keep the anime interesting.

same english, vintage-style culture in both, beautifully portrayed. both have supernatural elements and contains fantasy (to an extent). and edgar and howl are both quite similar, in appearance and kind of in personality, both are extremely HOT!!!
Indeed both share an evident and delicate romantic and magic atmosphere.
- "Hakushaku to Yousei" has Lydia, "Howl's Moving Castle" has Sophie, both girls are brought into magic adventures by an handsome blonde guys (Edgar / Howl).
- Still, both anime are inspired to an old-england style in a past epoch (which may easily be around year 1900).
- Similar as well the gentle and gold-hearted personalities of the involved characters in both stories ♥
If you loved one of those yet, you'll definitely fall in love once again for the other!
I think that a good word to describe their magic stories is: Sweet.
Female lead characters are weak initially, however through trials they become stronger, and learn how to deal with the male leads. Both were way too short; Hakushaku to Yousei seemed incomplete, and in Howl's Castle, Howls personality did not seem clearly developed enough for me.'

The male lead is blonde with no powers, whilst the female is the one with magic.
Both of these storylines contain light-hearted romance and comedy throughout. The male protagonists in both are blond and handsome, from straight-laced upbringing while the female protagonists have a connection to the magical world. Both are embroidered with delicate animation and lovely art, I recommend to anyone who enjoys a light and refreshing plot.

Edgar is just like Tamaki (dazzling, handsome, blonde and self-centered) and Lydia is a little bit like Haruhi (natural and easy-going). Great romance comedies both!
Both series have the same humor. And if you liked tamaki from ouran then you will like Edgar from hakushaku too and of course if you liked edgar you will love tamaki. Both animes made me giggle all the time when I watched it. And I fell in love with both the main characters.

Both anime deal with English aristosracy and its morals.
Both have blonde bishounen as the main hero involved in some kind of contract with supernatural heroine. By the way Oz and Edgar have also dark though loyal servants.
And genres are the same: romance, shoujo, reverse harem.
For those who are charmed with English exquisite aristocratic atmosphere, both anime would be the best option.
Very similare to Hakushaku to Yousei.

shoujo romance anime with multiple bishies/love interests surrounding the female lead.
Both are reverse harem
Both main character cheerful and smart girl
Both of the story are somewhat complicated

If you're a fan of stories set in Europe or with a European theme and about nobles, you should check this out. Also, both art are beautifully drawn.
Both these anime take place in history, although Hakushaku to Yousei more recent. Both also have that touch of magic and out-of-the-ordinary that will make you just love both of these stories.

The plot isn't very similar but the drawings are very alike and the relationship, when the main characters become closer, reminds of the one which Yuuki and Kaname has. Even though they aren't close from the beginning, when time passes by, the guy protects the girl.
The main female leads look extremely alike and are surrounded by men , and the animation of these two shows are similar overall. Both animes have a lot of bishies as well.
Both are about determined females involved with magic and have talking cats for sidekicks. Kiki's delivery service is more light hearted, but both do have humor as well.
In both series, there's a similar atmosphere with an English like tone with majestic backgrounds.
The main characters are dressed elegantly and have a sense of style. The main male protagonist also seems tough, independent, but also cold to people at various times.
Both series has fantasy elements as well as comedy, drama, and sense of innocence at various stances between characters.

this anime has similar romantic feel to it.
It's similar because it is both about fantasy, magic, love and riddels. It also plays it the same time. It are both wonderful anime's and I really sugest to see the both.

Cute girls with tempramental guys, the story has magic and fantasy. Both anime has romance, comedy and a bit of action.
The lovelyness are the same with magical creatures and actions with slice of humor, only that Earl and Fairy has a slice of romance between two characters but who knows what Shining Hearts will have lest's watch ^^
Being a very magical anime with the Tranquil atmosphere they both create, it is truly a great experience to have watched these series who go very well with each other.
There are a few bishounens, and the artwork is great! The earl looks like half Kei and half Tamaki, so it'll remind you of special A everytime!
Both are involved in magic. One involves fairies, the other natural elements.
They are also very similar romance wise.
Gorgeous Victorian costumes, romance and blond bishonen are in both series.Yousei has supernatural elements where as Emma does not, but both heroines do not immediately give themselves up to the guy and are refreshingly not whiny.
Both the animes have action, but not over-the-top.
Both animes have love and romance and deal with being confused about their feelings.
Both are fantasy too.
Both are fantasy adventure stories with romance.
Both of these series are reverse harem series involving a girl with special powers helping a noble and his retainers. The concept of Noblesse Oblige is central to both series.
They also both have a Victorian style setting and a cat mascot.
Other than the fact that 3 of the leads are voiced by the magnificent Mizuki Nana, the stories for both are short and changes in arc occur every few episodes. Both are rather dramatic in nature, with Hakushaku to Yousei being more fantasy type, and Allison and Lillia more adventrue type.
Personality wise the main characters have a lot in common. Edgar and Yano are very confident, popular, good looking and untrustworthy. Lydia and Nana-chan both have self-esteem problems, as well as being kind and thoughtful. The overall drama and relationship progression are similar too.
Both are reverse harems with a very good selection of male characters. They're both fairy tale esque and have just enough romance without being over or underwhelming. Neither have amazing stories, and can never be called masterpieces but they both have a certain charm that will keep you coming back for more.
Well, they both are romancey, (with Earl & Fairy being more of the romance type).. And they both have the phrase Nobliss Oblidge (exept in Earl and Fairy its said like 2 times). They both have the main male become a king of some sort. Also, the people are cute in both ^^;;
Both shows have a strong female lead who is surrounded by bishies, and both shows have some supernatural element to them.
Both are period shoujo animes that deal with royalty, fantasy and romance. I watched The Good Witch because I thought that it was a lot like Hakushaku, but I personally prefer the latter.
The overall feel and cuteness level are the same. Likewise being big on the eye candy factor.
The female protagonists are alike too. They're both social outcasts due to their appearance. Sawako is believed to have supernatural powers where as Lydia actually does.
*both deal with fairies and the comunication between them and the humans
*different genres, but beautiful art
*the main heroine in Hakushaku to Yousei resembles the one in Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita
