Endless Eight Arc - Enough Said?

The entirety of the season can be summed up almost in much the same way as the first season, so i am going to focus my attention on the Endless Eight arc of this season. This arc seems to be the part most mentioned in reviews and in most cases negatively so. It is also the most prominent memory we have of the season when you mention the 2nd season.

Eight episodes of the same events, over, and over again. Everyone can agree that this was not a cheap measure to save money. since the animation, clothing, and scene of every read more

There have been a lot of negative reviews on this site, which I can agree with to an extent. However, most of them focus entirely on the Endless Eight arc, while disregarding the rest entirely.

I can't say I disagree that the Endless Eight arc sucked; Having to sit through so many episodes of what was, for the most part, the same thing was somewhat annoying. The first time it happened, I had to check to make sure I didn't accidentally rewatch an episode. The changes are subtle enough to miss if you don't watch the episodes back to back.

However, I do like the fact that read more

After three years (of what seemed to be a long time of waiting) the second season of Suzumiya finally came out. What we weren't expecting was a troll from Kyoto Animations. But hey the message boards were extremely fun to go on when this show premiered.

What made this Suzumiya season so "special" was that there was no announcement about it. One day I was surfing the web and people were screaming all over the message boards. "OMG NEW SUZUMIYA." I laughed and quickly scrolled down, until someone told me it was actually true. I was like, "WTF KYOTO ANIMATIONS WHAT." And behold a new season read more

okay so ill make this short because this was an anime i absolutely will never watch again or think about again.

-was mediocre. fair enough i didnt see them in chronological order which made it hard to keep watching, but i expect atleast the episode's to suprise me a little. boring boring boring.

- good art i have to say i liked it and it was almost the only uplifting point in the anime.

-now the characters were okay main was the one who i ofcourse liked the most because of his personality of being "smooth" or not fucking around like a twelve year old. the read more

Anime: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
both main plot is about a part of the year that is repeated many many times and the main character have to discover how to stop the repetitions. The difference is that in Higurashi are shown the different repetitions and in Haruhi is only shown one repetition again and again

Anime: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
The Endless Eight episodes will definitely bring back memories if you watch this excellent horror anime.

Higurashi has an eternal June, while the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya had an eternal August.

Both are solved by the most simplest/unlikely of solutions.

As well, everyone will definitely enjoy how the end results of Higurashi actually DOES change (unlike in Endless Eight, where Yuki Nagato states how some things were omitted, but those changes where never actually animated).

Anime: Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei
the endless 8 ark in Haruhi goes back in time in each episode and Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei (or Tatami Galaxy) goes back in time in each episode both for a silly reason that the main character forgot to do something

in Haruhi no yuuutsu there aren't many changes but in Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei most of the episode is different

they also both give you that de ja vue feeling

Anime: Steins;Gate
Involve a repeat of time, somebody who remebers every timeline, and they are very good.

Anime: Twilight Q
Episode one is another story, but part two of this interesting work shares many similar themes, particularly with the "Endless Eight" arc.

Tales of high school a particular high school club, consisting of exactly 5 people (2 boys and 3 girls).

In both clubs, MCs investigate and ultimately resolve some supernatural occurrences.

Both focus on the relationship of members of the club.

*By Suzumiya (2009) I meant watching all 28 episode in the order aired on 2009.
