Kaleido star is a much better version of the whole girl reaching for a goal/dreams.
kaleido star has better comedy and character development and animation for sure.
Both are about girls pursuing their dreams and both are about artistic sport.
The story is somehow similar
GK is MUCH better, but the plot is quite similar.

Both are fun loving comedy type anime's that involve the main character trying to become a "Star" basically. Each finding her own way to becoming famous while going through bumps in the road.
Both anime's portray a deep sense of passion and desire for following through with your dreams. In both the main girls must overcome obstacle after obstacle pushing themselves forward, befriending and competing with there rivals, and inevitably, making it to the top. They are both fun and very uplifting and make a great watch for any fan of one of the series.
Dang.. Black haired Layla xD

These two shows are extremely similar, both focusing on a teenage girl with a big dream and trying to make it. The only difference is that in Kaleido Star they focus more on things like gymnastics and dancing, while in Glass Mask it's about acting.
To reach one's dream, one's goal. Many obstacles stand in their way, but they forever push on.
Kaleido Star is an ever optimistic series, whose clear message is to keep trying and aim for their dreams. Sugary and upbeat, little kids will love it, but it's not too much that older people can't watch it.
Glass Mask (2005) is an adaptation of a famous (at least in Asia) 70's manga, set to a more modern setting. Less upbeat, and much more dramatic than Kaleido Star, but it's the same "reaching for their goal" genre. Probably appeal to more older fans, but most people will enjoy both.
same type of story. both are about girls trying to succeed at something and there's lots of boys around too ;)

both about reaching your dreams. Kaleido star is nowhere near as poignant and its romance isn't developed nearly as far as full moon but you can honestly enjoy every episode unlike full moon in which it starts off really boring/light and gets really dark and interesting.
The story is alike, both shoujo and are sometimes funny and sometimes sad.. both drama's
They love to perform and a dream to become better. With help from spirits, they pass challenges. The main characters are optimistic so they befriend their rivals even though they show hostility. Full moon is more romantic but kaleido star can give you a good laugh and also at times it gives a slice of life feeling.

both of them are very good anime and has a similar point in the plot ( if u never give up on your goals/dreams, u can always reach them)
It's strange to express this feeling, but I trully enjoyed both shows. Sora is just like Akari a very optimistic girl who wants to do everything to realise her dreams together with the help of her friends.
Both shows are also full of touching moments and will result in some moments where u will have tears in your eyes ^^.
Although the setting in both show are both totally different (circus in KS and becoming an undine in Aria), I still recommend everybody to check out the both shows. They are very underrated pearls and you won't regret watching either of the 2.

Angelic Layer is very inspirational and motivating, like Kaleido Star. Kaleido Star and Angelic Layer are about trying hard, believing in yourself, doing and being the best.
both of the enter as rookies but at the finale of the series they are the top starts. both of the are very motivational

Similar, both focusing on a teenage girl with a big dream and trying to make it

Both series incorporate the idea of the sky/flying. Main characters aim to be the best and make everyone shine and move. Both have extremely cool triks.

Regarding their stories these two are COMPLETELY different, but the relationships between Sora/Layla and Sheryl/Lanka as well as their personalities are very similar. Layla and Sheryl are both seasoned performers, who feel threatened by talented newcomers Sora and Lanka. Even so they eventually become friends and work together to achieve harmony. If you like strong Female characters that chase after their dreams while never giving up, than it's likely that you'll be able to find something you'll like in both these anime.

If you like series where the main character follows after their dream, then Kaleido Star is another good one. With a more colorful palatte (it IS A circus after all), humor and charming characters, Kaleido Star goes along way with Sora reaching to be a star at the Kaleido Stage. Both series similarly have a standing rivalry between girls, Sora the one starting from the bottom and Layla, the one already on top and still reaching higher. The relationship is the same in that they both push each other farther and develop a bond closer than friendship. Humor, drama, and pushing yourself to the limits really makes this series endearing. The performances at the stage are always great to watch.

both have like action/sports/excitement thing going on, and anna and chris are similar and awesome. both have similar themes.

Both anime follow the journey of somebody who keeps fighting on to make their dream a reality. These journeys both include plenty of training, victories, and a few defeats. But what really makes them similar is the style of comedy they use on the side.

both have that classical music or whatever going. (kaleido star has a part that has the swan theme going.)

Both these animes feature a young girl who wanna acheive they're dreams to be top areobatics/Gymnasims, Kaleido Star has Sora who wants to become the best Aerobatics on a magical stage, and Hikari no Densetsu features a junior high schooler named Hikari who wants to be the best Rythmic Gymnastic

Though Sora doesn't have a sad past like Asumi, they're very similar...
Both of them are optimistic girls fighting for their dreams - to be a Kaleido star (Sora) and to be a rocket pilot (Asumi) -, both of them have a friend that nobody's able to see (Fool and Lion-san), and, mainly, both of them never give up!
