Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows

For those that don't know this movie is a complete revamped story of the original Eureka Seven series. I will admit that this review will be a bit bias since I myself am a avid Eureka Seven fan boy. Basically the story is set in a somewhat alternate parallel universe from the original Eureka Seven Universe. Even though the story has been completely changed, the same exact characters were used, and some of the integrity of key characters was not maintained "Mostly on Eureka's part". This film still managed to captivate me as did its predecessor.

The animation was superb. It read more

Despite what everyone is saying that this is another universe, a revamped story and whatever it needs to be said in order to separate the original story with this movie... well, I got news for you, it's not.

It still involves the universe of Eureka Seven, however, it seems that not many people are paying attention to the date of the events.

This movie tells the story of how everything came to be before the events of the anime series. This movie is set in the 21st century while the anime series takes place many, many years later.

The original Eureka Seven series is basically an altered story set in a parallel universe in correlation to the movie.
Both movies are derived from series full of religious and mystical symbolism. Both are about a conflicted adolescent boy piloting an alien bio-mech, in love with a half-alien/half-human girl, who come to conclusions about authority, their own identity, and their love in the middle of a prophesied apocalypse.
