They are both in the Samurai category. Samurai deeper is packed with action. If you loved Rurouni Kenshin, then you can't help but love Samurai deeper!
in this 2 animes we can a samurai. (Too funny to remove -SY)
very similar in terms of kenshin, the whole samurai feeling and the support of companions are quite similar. Also, kenshin has his 'battousai' side and kyo also has two sides. Samurai deeper kyo has a more serious atomsphere compared to kenshin. Overall, if you liked kenshin you might enjoy samurai deeper kyo, but in my opinion kenshin is better in every aspect.

These two Anime are set around the same time period of a certain age of war and chaos.Their primary characters portray the image of being the bearers of a supernatural power that only themselves or their own clans are able to naturally inherit.
Another point to note is that Shura no Toki's main character(s) resemble the easy-going, joyfully spirited 'good half' of SDK's main duo combination.
The OP & ED songs are pretty similar in the genre to suit the Anime. One more aspect to mention is that the openings of both Anime give a short briefing of the main plot just before the opening song begins to start the Anime.
Overall, I can be honest to say that if you enjoyed watching Samurai Deeper Kyo or Shura no Toki, you will definately want to see both Anime at some point of your feudal Samurai experience! Please enjoy!

These are two of my favorite Samurai series. The art work is beautiful and both the stories are wonderful and drama filled as well.
