Shuukaku no Yoru is definitely not your average urban hentai, the story takes place in a decayed no-man-land where the sight of gangs feasting on each other blood with them knives and rapists enthralled by the dew of virginal blood are everyday doses.
These city hyenas compete for power and women, when 2 gangs confront, and a winner arises, the winner gang can dispose of the femmes in the rival band and of course, the leader gobbles the best slice: that's when the action comes out, you better expect lots of malevolent and sadist sex between these sexual scavengers.
Basically this synthesizes the plot involved in this series, my main problem is that the continues flashbacks tend to wear my mind and I end up confused, the argument need a lot of improvement (it doesn't matter if you see both chapters unadvisedly), the animation is average, the character most of them spoiled brats, so bottom line: didn't feel any satisfaction after seeing this so I recommend it if you're onto this kind of scene. read more
I started this series confused and in the end, I was still confused. This felt like a horrible adaption, as the story makes little to no sense. They don't care to elaborate what is going on, it's as if you cut in right in the midst. The story focuses on a city, separated by a bridge. One side, in which this takes place, is gang infested and the other is a supposed ticket to freedom.
Beyond that, I couldn't tell you. One of the most confusing parts of this is the old homeless man speaking of his memories past, how everything used to be wonderful. This man is emphasized but never once explained. Not to mention why Honoka keeps coughing up blood and passing out. Given the type of series this is, I doubt there is a underlying message. Truly surprised to find this wasn't an adaption, because that would at least be a reason as to why this goes sour so fast.
That aside, the animation isn't what you would expect from a low grade hentai such as this. It is very well done, certainly not poor. But the content is for a select audience as is contains legitimate rape scenes partnered with a continuous amount of violence. Not hard guro, just bloody, and enough to draw someone back. There are a few consensual scenes but if you don't like the first OVA, I can guarantee you won't like the second.
Purely as a form of twisted hentai material, it is satisfying with miles for improvement. It's very free sexually, the women do a lot of sleeping around and no relationships are formed. There are even some yuri moments. The story flaws will be distracting, so don't even try to get it. Just don't watch this with any high expectations and you'll be good.read more
