Both these anime have to do with fighting demons, plus the cute ears are defiantly a plus! They are also similar in the aspects of characters that are out of their elements...Kugen in the human world, Kagome in the demon world...
Both have almost the same theme and focus on battle against demons, and main characters that looks the same (Inuyasha = Tenko, Kagome = Noboru, etc.).

both involve youkai's, and have a similar feeling, except natsume yuujinchou is not as lighthearted as oinari sama.
Both has a male main character who finds a spiritual creature (in wagaya a fox and in Natsume a cat) that end up protecting them.. they also share that both creature know a person related to the male main character, who is also had a spiritual power..
So they are pretty much the same..

Both of them use chants to kill the demons or at least render it powerless. They have very powerful animal spirits that help them get rid of the demons. They are both going to be successors to the head family shine...
Both anime deal with supernatural beings straight out of japanese mythology. Main characters are also part of magic families and are protected by powerfull spirit.

Both anime are about schoolboys having to deal with supernatural beings. Both are set more or less in our own time, in our own world.

Both involve the relationship between fox spirits and humans.
Wagaya no Oinari-sama has the edge as it's a TV series, so there is more in terms of plot and character development.

|
Both series have a supernatural world with gods and spirits superimposed on the normal world. This will then make the life of spiritually sensitive school kids slightly more complicated than it should. Also, in the both series the gods and spirits are more silly and comical than impressive and threatening.
