although in the exterior they look very different,Aria and Clannad are quite simmilar
Both of them give the viewer that heartwarming feeling after watching an episode.
Also both of them teach the viewer morals through the storyline.
Aria is anyway much more less dramatic, because while Clannad can be very tense at times,Aria is always laid back and relaxing...
anyway, these 2 animes are both a must watch, especially for the comedy/slice of life fans out there
Beautiful stories evoking emotional response
Both shows have the same feel to it. Watch the prequels first.

Aria is more light-hearted and not as deep as Haibane Renmei, but they truly are two of the best slice of life anime ever made.
Both shows evoke emotions, have subtle character development and take place in astounding settings. Haibane is darker though, while Aria is way longer, features a bigger cast and is episodic for most part (requires the two previous seasons).

As for now those are two series which are most similar (yes I'm counting also OVA)
both fluffy and warm slice of life, with slow tempo and nice scenery
also I've choosen Orgination as both of them show main character developing and changing.
Both have the same relaxing feeling and atmosphere, and both deal with how characters spend their time in everyday life.

Both series fall in the slice of life genre which lets you relax and enjoy the many little things that you won't find in others. Both series were created by the same person (you can tell from their overuse of "cats" in the show)
Sketchbook and Aria are the same thing. Different stories, settings, and characters, but the same show. You can't possibly like one and hate the other.

Both series:
*are about 3 girls that are friends
*teach morals through the story line
*are very relaxing and simple(no drama,no action...just slice of life and a bit of comedy)
*in both series the girls travel to various places and have nice encounters with different people
*have great/appealing characters, really good BGM and nice design
on overall...if you enjoyed Aria then you will enjoy Kokoro Library, trust me :-)

Both are a great lighthearted slice of life show. Both also present nature with a beautiful scenery and have a fantasy feel.

They are both comedy. Both are story about friendship and happiness. They also have the same clumsy main character. Well, if you like K-On!! you'll surely love this.

Both series are very bittersweet, with plentiful moments of light-hearted comedy and emotional drama. They share the theme that nothing lasts forever, and that is what makes life so precious. Both have an incredibly memorable cast of characters, as well as a dreamy watercolor art style.

It's the Fictional, yet somewhat believable environment they're both set in. The slow going pace of each episode and the small dosage of humor here and there. If you enjoyed the slow, "refreshing", movements and random story line, then Mushishi could be a nice choice also.

Both AMG and Aria are upbeat slice of life anime that have a very positive outlook and while AMG is a bit more action oriented than the extremely laid back Aria, they are both very sentimental series that never fail to bring a smile to my face.

Actually, these two series are nothing alike superficially (plot, characterization, story devices, etc.), but with Kamichu, you slowly start to notice this nice, tranquil, slice-of-life feeling in their town. Scenes that depict Kamichu's town (ever-present in every episode) reminded me of Aria slowly revealing more and more of Neo-Venezia throughout its episodes.
The relaxed, yet full-of-life environments coupled with pleasant music, picturesque scenery, and idyllic everyday life make for a pretty nostalgic, yet original experience in both. As well, the main characters in both works are a group of three radiant girls with admirable friendship.
I just have a feeling that if you liked Aria, you'd probably also like Kamichu. IMO, Aria loses to Kamichu in the number of meaningful plot-events, character depth, and plot, but of course: nothing compares to Aria's trademark atmosphere and environment.

When I see Kimi ni Todoke and appreciate its peaceful and charming atmosphere I only could compare to Aria series atmosphere.
If you really want to enjoy both series you must let go by these unique and so slow, charming animes and their proposals.

Both are episodic slice of life tales, and whilst Aria may the more popular, Binchou-tan has a charm all of it's own - a worthy rival to the series.
