Yukari is a typical high-school student who listens to her parents and attends school everyday. As she starts to question her way of life, she encounters a group of fashion design students who have a clothing label known as "Paradise Kiss". The group needs to find a model to showcase their designs in an up-coming fashion show and decides to pick Yukari. Initially, Yukari is reluctant to be associated with this seemingly eccentric group, but eventually she realises they are really nice people. Furthermore, their passion and enthusiasm to follow their ideals and dreams make Yukari realise that she has not been enjoying her life and thus motivates her to pursue her own dreams. The story follows Yukari as she gets involved in the group and eventually falls in love with the leader, George.

So there are very few anime in this world that can satisfy you completely. They give you everything you want and then some delivered in a neatly wrapped box with a bow. This anime does nothing but deliver from the very first episode up until the last few seconds of the series. But let me be frank; If you're looking for a cutesy series that sugar coats all of its drama in anime cliches then get out and don't let the door hit you on your way out. This anime is not for you! With that said let's move on.

Cool is what rules in this anime. Everything in the artwork, characters, attitude, and even the story just emanates cool and they even do it with an attitude. As you already know it's about a girl named Yukari thats not to sure about her future. Just by a chance encounter on the street gets discovered by the most unsuitable of characters.

Story - (Outstanding)
The story is a typical love drama, but the setting, characters, and personalities are what make this completely different from the rest of group. It takes a more realistic approach toward drama. Something you'd see read more

Looking for a quick 12 episode show to watch? Paradise Kiss is just for you. Sure, it's a little more for the "Shojo" audience, but it has plenty of stuff to keep any guy entertained. So, what'd I think about it?

Meet Caroline, the girl who doesn't really know what she's doing with her life. She happens upon a group of college students that need her to be their fashion model. Interesting premise, and doesn't sound too farfetched from what might happen in real life. Good ending that actually makes some sense too.

A little funny looking at times, but the art is definitely nice. Sexy looking read more

The Sensations of Paradise Kiss

That kick that comes in the pre-ED when you hear the vocals of Franz Ferdinand blaring over whatever dramatic punctuation that they’ve set up for you. Of all the pre-ED kicks I know these are just about the toppest of the tops. When I think of Franz Ferdinand I think Take Me Out and the post-punk chorus that stiffens into crazy machinery that you just have to pump your feet to.

The little dance that cartoon Yukari does in the ED. While usually I skip EDs and OPs, I always watch to that part somehow, and usually beyond that. That this ED read more

Anime: Nana
Nana and Paradise Kiss are similar in that they're both done by the same producers. This leads both shows to have a similar "drama" appeal. You're not quite sure what will happen to all the characters, even all the way up to the last couple minutes of the last episode. Both are directed toward more of the "girl" market, but they're entertaining enough for any type of drama/romance fan.

Anime: Kuragehime
Anime adaptations of josei manga with an emphasis on fashion. One would assume this means most males should run far away with their anuses clenched and never look back, but no: they are strangely accessible and appealing even to the more manly males that frequent this site, such as myself. Seeing adult(ish) characters mentally dealing with the highs and lows of AN ACTUAL SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP IN ANIME!!111! is appealing in Paradise Kiss. Princess Jellyfish's fujoshi-in-a-boarding house freakout gag humour makes it more of a comedy than a drama and even more male-accessible as a consequence. And the fashion aspects are presented from the respective heroine's  read more

Anime: Beck
They have the same feel, animation, and general story line. While Beck seems to appeal more to the Male audience, Paradise Kiss seems to be more towards the Female aspect

Anime: Gokinjo Monogatari
Both of them are written by Ai Yazawa so the ambiance feels the same : a group of people making clothes themselves while trying to figure out their dreams. Romance is involved in both, and we follow more the relationship of the male and femal main characters. same kind of humor. If you liked Paradise Kiss, their is not doubt you will also like gokinjo monogatari.

Anime: Sukitte Ii na yo.
Both are about highschool girl that isn't close to anyone and just lives her dreary life until she meets the guy that shows her the joys of youth and helps her come out of her shell.
Both focus on teenage girls feelings.
ParaKiss is more about fashion, Sukinayo is more school-ish

Anime: Skip Beat!
I'd say Paradise Kiss is a more abstract version of Skip Beat, honestly. There are a few differences though. An example would be that in Skip Beat, the protagonist is an aspiring actress, while in Paradise Kiss, the protagonist is an aspiring model. As for the similarities, both protagonists originally have no interest in what they eventually begin to pursue.
