I myself am a huge fan of the game, so it's hard for me to give low ratings. The story isn't that complicated and I thought it was quite original, but I haven't seen that many anime's so I might be wrong. The art is just beautiful, dark colors are used and it suits the story very well. If you're a fan of the game, watch this anime. You won't be disappointed. But for people that aren't... interested in the game, skip this. Only if you're into pretty graphics I suggest you watch one or two episodes.
But you could always ignore what I say and watch it anyway, fans are always welcome. read more

Noted as a prequel to the stunning God of War -like PlayStation 3 game, Heavenly Sword. This 5 episodic animation brings insight upon a game, which hasn't done before, at least for a video game console in the 21st century. Having been released much earlier than video game... release, this gives viewers and future buyers of the game a taste of what kind of story to expect. With vibrant colours and clear sound, and the various formats officially available, this certainly doesn't disappoint. If you are a fan of the game, this is an anime you should archive on you PlayStation system for keeps. If not, but planning to buy the game, this is a must-watch if you want a clear view of what the game will be about. If you don't plan to buy the game, please stay away or find out on your own why I just said that now. Overall, this is made for hardcore Heavenly Sword fans that were waiting for the game before this anime was even released and hopefully those of you who read my review are those fans. read more

Aug 16, 20085 of 5 episodes seen 1 of 3 people found this review helpful ok so it is just a few short minutes, like 2 per episode but if your just wasting time at work or tired of doing something else. this is an awesome little series. the storytelling is amazingly reminisent of 300 and the characters really make you feel for them. the art is alittle ok, more like concept art then anything else but still is alittle lacking. i really enjoyed watching it though from someone who hasnt played the game.
