Golden Boy is about a twenty five year old guy, named Kintaro, who had completed all credits for college but dropped out right before graduation. He has decided to study all he can learn about life. He now specializes himself in day-dreaming, temporary part time jobs dealing with different areas of interest, and lets not forget, beautiful girls. Kintaro travels on his trusty pink bicycle, keeping notes about what he learns about life in his notebook, and living his life in the happiest of ways. Kintaro is a very caring guy, always trying to help out and learn new things from different people. Even though read more

Golden Boy anime review by realanimefan.

First of all, you have to be a little open minded if you want to fully enjoy this story. Second be prepared for some perverted moments. Third, if you've overcome the first two get ready to laugh your butt OFF!!!!

Guys might enjoy this series a lot more than women would, and i being a guy of course enjoyed, no loved this anime series. I found it hilarous and entertaining. The main character Kintaro Oe is one of my favorite anime guys of all time, he seems to be able to say or do the things that all guys think or read more

Golden Boy is one of those OVA series that, if you were watching anime in the 90s, you’d probably fondly remember. And for the most part, it holds up very well. This review will be talking about the English dub, so if you’re not a dub watcher, go check out another review. I should mention off the bat however that the English dub is actually really good. Doug Smith is hilarious as Kintaro in a way I can’t describe. I’d urge you to give the dub a go just to see if you’d like it, and if you don’t, go ahead and watch the original read more

Golden Boy revolves around 25-year-old Kintaro Oe. Kintaro is a freeter. In case you're like me and have no idea what that means, he basically travels all over Japan on his trusty bike and takes various odd jobs to survive.
Kintaro is one of the smartest, most resourceful guys you'll ever meet, but you'd never realize it by looking at him. He has a dopey voice, an over-eager attitude, and a perverted streak a mile long. All that belies his true self, however. He dropped out of Tokyo University before obtaining his law degree, even though he had already passed all the necessary classes. His desire read more

GTO and Golden Boy are extremely similar in style and humor - both feature honest and hardworking leads who will go to great lengths to make a difference in another person's life. And both are prone to trouble, especially when women are involved. The two shows have their differences though - they're similar enough that I'm absolutely sure anyone who enjoys one should watch the other, but not so similar that either feels like a ripoff.

Golden Boy can be considered as Colorful with a plot and much more variety in humor. Sure, it's still ecchi but there's also a lot more to it than just that.

So far, in the all the time spent dementing myself with Japanese cartoons and comics, Junk Boy is the ONLY title similar to Golden Boy I've come across.

The basic gist of Junk Boy is this: an average, horny guy finds himself in a line of work that allows him to interact with/seduce babes. With his ability to get a boner at any time/lift tables with his boner, no woman can resist his idiotic, surprisingly seductive ways for long - not even an idol he once masturbated over being safe from his clutches.

Just like Golden Boy, it's sure to piss off those  read more

Both animes are filled with perversion of the same level, and filled with Ecchiness, so if you like Ecchi anime, you'll definitely like Golden Boy. Golden Boy is indeed an much older anime, but it's a classic.

Both Iketeru Futari and Golden Boy revolve around pointless ecchiness and a semi-retarded male. With aging art in both series and a lack of any real interest, fans of one series will, more than likely, finda similar interest in the other.

The main character in Dragon Knight is voiced by Doug Smith (the English voice actor for Kintaro Oe from Golden Boy). Both of them are very perverted and goofy.

Opening Theme

"Opening" by Joyo Katayanagi

Ending Theme

"Study A Go! Go!" by Golden Girls, Hiroyuki Kitakubo, Saito Kanji, and Tadamisu Hiro.
