Mixed Feelings
This is fine. Another anime-original episode that doesn't reach very far. It's a Detective Boys mystery, so it follows the basic formula of "they start an innocuous adventure and something goes terribly wrong, kickstarting a mystery." The mystery was a small stakes-raise, and we never get details on what the villain's motivation was, but it's resolved quickly and they have lunch afterward. On the other hand, the innocuous adventure had a lot of doting Haibara moments that I appreciated. Honestly, I'd love it if they went a bit further with that and had Haibara be more of an advisor to the Detective Boys rather than ...
