Both are whacky, surreal comedies that involve female, human-like creatures who never get explained.

Both stories depict the not-so-boring everyday of a small community with a good bunch of random elements and comedy. Yet Hare+Guu is set in a strange Jungle and Nichijou in a quite abnormal modern Japan, both share silly characters beyond stereotypes and a strong sense of humor and expression, that eventually drives the series on surprisingly serious situations. At last but not at least, the art direction in both is simple and refreshing with chubby charadesign and minimalistic sceneries, yet Kyoto Animation goes on a far higher level of animation with Nichijou.

A rational person has to deal with a weird group of people. You get to see that rational "straight guy" character squirming in both series. It gives a sense of a Comedic Duo stage act. While both still has a small sense of an overall plot, it's strength is in the comedy. They both have a few references to pop culture of the time, video games, or anime. And occasionally drops a serious tone in the series, so it isn't just on an endless escalation of laughs.

These two anime are really alike. They have identical type of humour And also characters are similar: Kemeko reminds me of Guu and Sanpeita is like Hare. In both anime there is a bit of fanservice. If you liked one you will definitely like another.

Both shows have a lot in common. If you just go based on the plot synopsis the two shows seem very different, but I defy you to sit thru an episode of each show and not see the similarites. Same voice actors (at least for the english dub), same animation style, same dark, quirky type humor. Basically if you like one show you'll almost certainly like the other.

Hare Guu is another rare, character-driven Comedy that takes every little detail seriously. Hilarious everlasting.

Style of comedy is absurdism. Has one logical character, while the rest are absurd. In the sense it's like a comedy duo, one "straight man", while everyone else is bonkers. The settings are vastly different, but it makes no difference. Since mainly where the story is set is rarely used as the setup for the joke, rather than that it is just a stage. Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu is closer to a comedy duo, as it focuses mainly on Hare (straight man) and Guu. It's comedy is on it's 'Saturday cartoonish' aspect of weird things happening. Cromartie High is based in a delinquent high school, which seems to  read more

Same type of slapstick humor, ridiculous and pretty random plot.Similar main character in both shows, both of them have refference to an other anime. And of course both of them are ridiculous and funny as hell!

These two are not from the same era, and they have very different genres and topics. But both are about a young boy meeting a mysterious girl, being annoyed at first, but also a little fascinated, and then having their relationship slowly evolve. There are also some similarities in the comedy, which relies a lot on the fact that the girl has the upper hand in their love-hate relationship.

This series are pretty crazy both. Both have a few unusual heroines and Haruko Haruhara is very similar to Guu in my opinion.

The lack of common sense, the randomness, the split personalities, and the living veggies are in both anime.

Contains lots of slapstick humor and two outrageously dissimilar characters.

Very similar random type of anime - you keep asking yuorself: "Wait, why did this happen?" They're also both immensely funny.

These two shows share the same off-the-wall sense of humor, incorporating sometimes hilarious, sometimes mind-boggling surreal events like you would never expect to see in real life. Both series have two main characters, who in the tradition of Japanese comedy, play the "straight man" (Hare/Naoto) and the "idiot" (Guu/Beckham) respectively--one performing most of the unexpected comedic gags, the other responding with horror and struggling to stay sane in the midst of it all. The love/hate relationship between these two characters is also a feature of both shows, as is the cast of recurring minor characters who seem to have no problem ignoring the "idiot" character's  read more

Hare and Watanuki are very similar characters as well as Guu/Weda work the same way as Yuuko. Both are funny in their own weird way^__^

It is a very similar comedy atmosphere. You can imagine Guu as Unihiko, Ureno as Hale, and Usahara as Weda.

Both shows are based in slapstick comedy and have sadistic young children. The humor in both is a bit adult, yet accessible to those with mature palates. Basically, both are crazy funny.

Hare nochi Guu is funny and extremely random like Keroro Gunso is. If you like randomness in your animes, then check this series out too!

You want to see some sort of sarcastic-absurd-comedy anime, which turns out to be treating some serious and past-laughter subjects? You're on the right path then. Check these two.

In both the main characters are non-human girls who are extremely special and who are spoiling the main male character's life living next to him and doing extraordinary things. You're gonna laugh a lot in both.

These two have similar comedy styles, and are full-on comedy at every opportunity. The main characters in both series have a similar love for video games(particularly JRPGs), and both have done RPG-related parodies. The protagonists of one are mostly small children, and the other are teenagers who act like small children. If you love the immaturity and silliness of characters, you will love both of these.

both hilarious, like they'll have you rolling on the floor laughing not just a chuckle or a smile

Both have hilarating sense of comedy and silly characters. The one takes place in a japanese classic city, the other in an hypothetical crazy jungle, and both main characters are insanely appealing.

Characters... Hare and Guu, aswell as Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro both feature a torment, inhuman character attatching themselves to an unfortunate youngster. The unfortunate youngster has no choice but to put up with their new 'friend' and is fully aware of this individuals vast range of supernatural abilities. Both supernatural characters litterally have more then one face and can portary a cute 'I'm just an innocent tag along' exteriour towards others. Both regular characters are fairly balanced individuals; they're not sickly sweet, they're not too quiet and they're not push-overs either. Story wise... Both have a good balance of; plot foundation, odd humor and character development.

Both shows are over-the-top silly and while one has a character who loves video games, the other IS a video game. The main characters for these series are both the types who get hit and smacked around a lot, while asking, "WHY CAN'T THINGS BE NORMAL?!", with a sidekick who loves to tease and torture them.
