Synopsis Higurashi Kagome, after being pulled down a well by a demon, finds herself in Feudal Japan, where she learns that a powerful jewel has been reborn inside her body. After the jewel shatters in an attempt to retrieve it from one of the many demons who was after its power, Kagome must join forces with the half-demon Inu Yasha (also after the jewel's power) to track down the shards of the jewel before its power falls into the wrong hands.

Overall, Inuyasha is very enjoyable. The art is brilliant although in the movies the art does slip because Rumiko Takahashi (the mangaka) helps with the drawings.
The storyline is basic and very easy to follow, however the story does seem to drag on, so if you have patience with animes this could be for you.
The characters are pure genius, each with their own running joke. Each character (with the exception of Kagome) has a dark and kind of upsetting past often including the death of a loved one. My favourite is Miroku by far. He is a perverted womanising monk who flirts with pretty much any girl. However, some characters, like Shippo (an adorable fox demon), have a minor role with little or no fight scenes. (Then again that's a small part of his jokes).
The fights are good, lots of blood in some places. However the fights are short and it seems to always be Inuyasha doing most of the work. (As he has stated a few times). The others seem to be back up and use the same moves. For example, Sango, a demon slayer, uses her Hirakotsu (a giant boomerang often used hitting Miroku when he flirts with other girls or touches her butt) but she has a sword which rarely gets used. I think I've seen it 3 times and then I can only remember when she is about to use it on Kohaku (her little brother who has no memory of killing their whole village because he's being controlled by the main bad guy).
The romance is my favourite part in all of the series. It's more sweet than it is romantic. But it's the sort that makes you feel all warm inside. I'm sad to say that the romance barely progresses. (Apart from Miroku and Sango). And there is a really big love net. But like I said, it sweet in a LOT of places.(Oh, for you fan girls, I know Sesshomaru, Inuyasha's brother, is a favourite. Oh, I'm not a fan girl.)
All in all, Inuyasha is a good anime (and my favourite). Watch it if you have patience and love a good laugh, fight sometimes full of blood and sweet romantic bits in an anime.

Inuyasha started off very well, it is fairly entertaining at the beginning of the series, with the story progressing rapidly at the start, coupled with lots of humour by Kagome. However, the series quicly deteriorated when the fillers start kicking in, and even in the later stages, many of the scenes and jokes were repetitive, not to mention the lack of plot development.Probably the only exceptions were episodes relating to Kagome's life in the present world - these episodes were definately worth re-watching.
After the intoduction of the fourth protagonist ( Sango), apart from a few side-stories, the plot essentially deteriorates into a viscous cycle. In a few occasions it seems there will be some new development, but I was dissapointed when the same-old thing happened again. The fillers were heavily Naruto-like, admittedly better.
Overall: I think the series can be alot better, but if you like extended series, this could be for you.

Same creator, same stuff... I just tend to love this type of stuff. XD
This is very similar animes,even same devloper,Inuyasha and Kikyo voice actors,here as Ranma and Akane,both have action-romance and comedy, even same personality ^_^
Same mangaka, similar graphics, same seiyuus. Wanna hear Yamaguchi Kappei again? Then you should watch this.
it's just like inuyasha but more like the love side. it doesn't really have any blood. and ranma 1/2 is just a little more silly =P
Both are by Rumiko Takahashi and the relationship between Kagome and InuYasha is very similar to the relationship between Ranma and Akane.

The characters, story and art are very similar. What else do you expect if it's made by the same creators? Though the genre is not exactly the same thing. They added action (Not matrial arts, but fighting most of the time monsters) and adventure to InuYasha, so Ranma 1/2 has more comedy. Ranma 1/2 is also older, they made InuYasha after Ranma 1/2. So the art looks very similar, but InuYasha's art is better.
There are some characters with almost excatly the same personality..
Akane Tendo - Kagome Higurashi
Ranma Saotome - InuYasha
Ryoga Hibiki - Koga
Cologne - Kaede
and probably more.. InuYasha and Kagome's relationship is almost the same as Ranma's relationship with Akane.. It gives me the same feeling.
If you liked Ranma 1/2 I strongly recommend you to watch InuYasha.
If you you watched InuYasha you might think Ranma 1/2 sucks because its old. That's what I thought before watching it, and now I'm really glad I've tryed this series.

The characters are very similar and both series since they are written by the same author. Each series is on the lengthy side and although there is more story in InuYasha it still follows a similar comedic and romantic pattern with Ranma 1/2
there both great animes that idk they just remind me of eachother in many ways. they love tringals-the fights-realistice in some ways to real life (not by much in some situations but anyway XDDD)

Both are long stories that are mostly about the main couple and their fight against a powerful foe. They both have their funny moments as well.
Both are similar because they involve a modern girl who gets transported to alternative feudal Chinese world. They also appear to have some of the same historical Chinese myths and legend occasionally. Both are fantasy anime but Fushigi Yuugi seems to involve more dramatic plot turns, deeper romance between the main characters, and occasionally serious subject to bring depth to the character and expose their psyche. Overall Fushigi Yuugi and Inu Yasha both have good characters and are both humorous and entertaining anime.
Both are Are "Magical Girl" (Mahō shōjo) Animes and Mangas, with the main character being transported into a "Fudal Era" alternate world. I prefer Fushigi Yuugi over InuYasha for the fact that all though it is a long running series, the series does come to a conclusion! In both the Manga and Ainime...
in both of them there are priestess that have a mission and role to complete and on their journey they both make friends with some more people.
I think they are both similiar in such a way and maybe in the plot, another thing is that the both priestess came to this world by a magic entrace and live in their own modern world.
I think Fushigi Yuugi contains much more romance and cuteness and I liked it so much, if you liked Inu Yasha and want something with a little more romance Fushigi Yuugi is the Anime for you :)

ITS got the whole "you are a priestess who will save us" thing and the whole forbiden love and 2 lovers for Inuyasha thing. The dub is better but thats for you to decide. There isnt very much bad language in this as there is in Inuyasha but they are sooooooo similar i think i will die! there arnt as many episodes in this but its still awesome!!!
The show is in feudal time Japan. It has many different genres like action, romance, fantasy and more! This is my favorite anime and Fushigi Yuugi remind me so much about it. (There's a monk in Inuyasha too; Except he doesn't say "You know" a lot but he rubs girls butts enough!) Please watch Inuyasha AND Fushigi Yuugi they're both REALLY good animes!
Both of these titles have a female lead character who travels back in time and falls in love with a guy from the past. They also have a following of people helping them out. The key difference between the two is most likely that Inuyasha is less "romantic" than Tamahome, and Kagome can actually fend for herself, unlike Miaka.
Well, in both there's a girl who travels to a different world. Also, there are some similarities in the plot if you watch them both all the way through. Also two of the main characters have a thing going on.
Here's a tip about animes: wait until at least the 5th episode or so until you make a finaol disision on whether or not to finish an anime.
They have both school girl who come from a other world and fall in a old era.
The relationships between boy and girl slowy warms up in both anime.
Monsters to fight, and they travel white people to find something.

The female leads live in modern day Japan and then enter ancient times through different means to different places, however, the main characters still deal with an ancient evil that needs to be exterminated only by journeying throughout this ancient domain with their newfound friends that they meet along the way. The female leads each find a romantic interest that keep them tied to their new found realities. They also juggle their lives in modern Japan and journey back into ancient times.

They both have the same plot. A girl falls into Ancient times, both fall in love with an ancient character from back then, both are clumsy and weak, and both are very loyal and loving to their friends. Only fushigi yuugi came first before inuyasha.
Both animes have a girl who is capture by a powerful magic and goes to a "different world"! They are both Mikos, with a important role to do in that world... Have, also, a love triangle, fights and comedy.
