Synopsis

Unwritten
Junior high student Futaba Yoshioka has always despised boys—she thinks they are all way too rowdy and annoying. The only exception is a boy in the class next to hers, Kou Tanaka, who seems different from the others. Through frequent encounters, Futaba and Kou exchange shy glances and awkward words with one another. Having had no experience in romance prior, Futaba has no idea what her growing feelings for Kou are supposed to imply.

During their second year of high school, Futaba and her friends go to a summer festival together. While the other girls decide not to wear yukatas, Yuuri Makita does as she is determined to get closer to Kou. Caught off guard, Futaba can only watch from afar as Yuuri and Kou seem to grow more and more intimate. At this rate, will Futaba be able to make progress with Kou?

This is a great little add on to the Ao Haru show, it literally "wraps" the main story with episode 1 being a prequel of sorts and episode 2 being an add on after the occurrences in the main title. It definitely feels just like the parent show- simple and sweet. I recommend watching this after the main show, even though chronologically the first episode of the OVA comes first, because it messes up some of the foreshadowing and character exposition in the main show.

Animation:
Not too much to add in this section, feels just like the main show. I'd forgotten that Futaba's hair has so ...

Ao Haru Ride OVA should be definitely watched right after season 1, but the most important part of it is ep. 2. From my experience, the first season ended with a cliffhanger and of course as a viewer I had a lot of questions, which got answered here. Nevertheless, they give u another cliffhanger right in the end (that's why you should watch the last episode till the very end and pay attention to what they say).
Atm (2021) there is no season 2 and I don't think there will ever be, so the best option would be to pick up the manga and start from ...

Well, well, well, what do we have here? It's the Ao Haru Ride OVA, or as I like to call it, 'The Ride That Goes Nowhere.'

This anime is like a romantic comedy on a merry-go-round. It's cute, it's sweet, and it's going in circles. The characters are charming, but the plot just keeps spinning its wheels.

Don't get me wrong, there are some heartwarming moments and plenty of laughs along the way. But if you're looking for a satisfying conclusion to the story, you'll be left disappointed.
