Preliminary Spoiler
Oct 7, 2014
First of all, I'd like to say that the key to truly enjoying M3 is having an interest in a series that not only showcases sci-fi/fantasy elements but also has the tendency to go deep into the characters' psyche, exploring their personalities and how they came to be like that. I'd go beyond that and say it's not so much about the story but the journey these people go through and the very simple yet effective and truthful message it’s trying to convey about what connecting with others truly means.

Story 8/10

It starts really slow and sligthly confusing. I'd say this is the main downfall ...

Mixed Feelings
Ok, so I've just finish watching this 24 episode anime and quite frankly I have mixed feelings about it, so I'm gonna cut to the chase and just present my ratings for this anime:

Story: Decent 4.

The problem with the story was that it has too much in it that the plot and the story-line itself wasn't easily understood, especially when it has a mixture of sci-fi mixed with supernatural, in my opinion the two genres are like oil and water that don't mix, it also has a combinations of "SOMEWHATS" and SOME SORTS"and I do mean "SOMEWHATS." First of all there is that somewhat of ...

I do not know why people dislike this anime, or the amount of hate I get from people watching this, maybe because this is pretty slow-paced, so most watchers didn't continue to bother watching this series. First of all I'd like to say that watching this anime episode by episode will only bore us, and that's why I think most people dropped this show. Maybe they don't find it appealing enough, or because of the slow start, forgettable characters, and the mediocre animation. So I advise everybody who plans to watch this anime : WATCH THIS STRAIGHT.

The story is good, the synopsis explains that ...

Preliminary (11/24 eps)
If there is one thing that drived me trough this anime it was it´s deep and intresting story, truly one very unique and for me the first of it´s kind.
Its backstory and premise is fantastic although unfortunatly the characters of the show does now support and help the story very much, except for Akashi and the crazy researcher wich name i forgot. The characters just feels like very onesided paths that you walk without any change in the way you walk.
They felt dull, boring and sometimes it felt like the atmosphere around certain characters where just outright emotionless or depressed.
The action sequences is very ...

Mixed Feelings
Communication. Understanding. Connection. All things we as humans struggle with. To truly know another person is difficult on its own; some would say impossible entirely. That, however, doesn’t stop us from trying, no matter the pain. Pain that births from failed attempts of understanding, thinking you know someone but in truth do not. Sometimes, trying to connect to another is more painful and can hurt more than trying to cause them misery. But who hurts more: the person who tried and failed, or the person on the receiving end? Can comprehension of others truly be had if we are separate beings? And should we even ...

Spoiler************(in characters)(not a big one)
ahh. M3: Sono Kuroki Hagane.... Lets star off at the good.
Sound: The music was great. I loved the intro and outro score, it was a very interesting tune. I watched a subbed version so I enjoyed the speakers alot. and the robot action sounds were good too.

Art: I also enjoyed the art alot. It was very serious, which i enjoy alot.

Now lets move on to the rest....
Story: The idea was interesting, but the execution of the story I thought in my opinion was bad. It was slow. Now as a fan of Fate Zero. I should know that I shouldn't ...

M3 Sono Kuroki Hagane is a surprisingly very good psychological oriented mecha anime set in a dark atmosphere.

- NO SPOILER -

The anime focuses on a team of young pilots using giant machines to discover and explore a mysterious dark and disrupted zone appearing on earth.

While brutal action packed fights were expected, surprisingly this anime delves very deeply in the emotion and psychology of the characters. Another surprise is that this aspect is treated with real intelligence and maturity. The psychological issues are addressed gradually with subtlety, finesse and poetry.

I would like to stress this, not only as an anime fan but also ...

It will be a short review:
I watched this a few monthes ago while I did see a bad rating for the score of the anime I don't see any explanation as to why (only one review tries and has a bad score)
If you want to watch this anime for action skip
If you want to watch it for a realistic story ( on the technology point of view) skip
To be blunt it goes well in depth on a psychological side, the characters if not too complex ( which would make the anime totally uninteresting because nothing would justify it, "normal" people don't have a really ...

If I want to describe M3, I will say, it is “everything is dark, mess up and fully depressed” kind of anime, but as you follow through each episode, you will gain some insight about each character. M3 is kind of an anime which focus more about the characters personality, their past event, their personality, their perspective, and their characteristic, which is not many anime didn’t go to this route.

One might say, this anime is dark and depressing which leads for those who watch it will ask themselves to continues watching the series or not. And this is true by the way since I have ...

A combination of horror and mecha what could go wrong? well in this show case almost everything.
If you ever asked yourself this question "A mecha show cannot be boring,it has giant robots right?"
Then this show is the answer to that question,it spends hours and hours of dialogue, useless flashbacks that repeat themselves over and over again,a bunch of scifi-horror jargon that never gets fully explained, unlikeable and annoying characters and the only two decent characters were never given enough screentime to carry the show. The mechas and their weapons feel weak through the whole show, they look like they are shooting water bullets, the main giant "enemy" is overpowered and ...

This was something I had grabbed because I wanted to watch another mecha show. (And it was recommended from the Bokurano page, so yet another downvote for MAL recommendation givers.) I really should have grabbed almost anything else.

The characters are about as unlikable as possible, and the stilted and awkward dialog does nothing to help with that. I was actively rooting for the big bad to kill all of the kids off, but only after the grownups had been piled up and burned alive so at least some of the screaming would actually have a purpose behind it. The plot is inane technobabble stirred ...
