Tokyo Ghoul addpermalink

If you enjoy one you're likely to enjoy the other. Both great quality. Both about a male lead who has part of his humanity taken away without his consent. Both main characters go through a few similar things. The fighting in both series doesn't vary much, with Parasyte being a bit more tactical / realistic, and Tokyo Ghoul being a bit more over-the-top.

Both MCs discover that humans aren't the on;y intelligent beings in the world and get mixed up with human devouring "monsters". To make things worse, they end up as half hybrids.

Not human and not "monster" they need to find a way to fit in and deal with upcoming danger.

Kiseijuu is more horror and philosophical while Tokyo Ghoul if more action/shounen based.

This isn't going to be your regular happy anime with the MC fighting and surviving on friendship magic. nope, the MC's (who are typical meek and introverted folks) are about it enter a whole new world right in front of them, whether they want to or not, and it's bloody, full of carnage, with little to no forgiveness. not recommended for new anime fans or people weak to possible gore.

I'd also like to point out that Parasyte came in the 80's and tokyo ghoul being fairly new. their extremely similar. the only difference which will bring out arguments of which is better is how the studio's animated it...if they did at all. a lot of the stuff that happens can happen in manga, but in anime its a whole new thing. read more

Both maincharacters from Tokyo Ghoul and Kiseijuu has a sudden life altering experience quite similar to each other as the characters in different ways now prey on humans. They must also find a way to live with their changed bodies.

This series resonate with Tokyo Ghoul as the main characters undergo a change that makes them more powerful but also less human at the same time. The stories revolve around a normal boy who was attacked by supernatural beings, forcing them to become something inhuman themselves.

Bith series feature a new species. Some people have become what you could call monsters and acquired new powers due to this. The series have a lot of fighting, blood and gore in them. If you like these kind of series then you should check these series out as well.

Both titles star a young men who have their lives changed overnight when they are attacked by bizarre beings (Parasytes and Ghouls respectively), yet survive the ordeal and end up having said creatures physically bonded to them as a result. As a result, both main characters feel the need  to use their newly gained power to fight of the dangerous threats posed by more of the dangerous beings inhabiting them while trying to maintain some semblance of their ordinary lives

Both stories this time deal with the main character, and his difficult life after being 'infected' with bizarre organism which is able to rebuild their bodies and minds from the beginning and turn them into 'monsters' but somehow they still manage to keep their humanity ahead. Kill/prey on humans is a must-do to these organisms but the main character totally refuses. Grotesque, gory scenes, dark atmosphere, drama and a lot of suspense.

Both anims have darker themes, struggle with humanity, and gore. Each main character is half-human, and half-other... and this half 'other' is the source of their troubles.

Both are about the MC having to deal with some weird beings who eat humans.
The MC has this desire to prevent meaningless loss of life. 
However Parasyte MC is much better than Tokyo Ghoul MC.

Setting for both anime series are same like:
1) Human being are treated as Live Stock by Parasyte/Ghoul
2) Protagonist for both characters are half human , half Parasyte/Ghoul.
3) Both series has bloody fighting scenes.

An ordinary wimpish kid has suddenly transformed into a person with a special power that is capable of killing everyone. Others with this powers are different than he is. Others are like that at birth, while the main protagonist here obtain it in there teens. After gaining this new power, they try to stay human. However, they slowly drift away from other humans towards to Parasyte/Ghouls. Both anime show something about life. 

Parasyte: Shows a lot about human's true nature. 
Tokyo Ghoul: Shows about how other species are treated by humans, just for the actions of some. Can show how other animals feel.

Both very thrilling to watch, and can't get enough of it. read more

These shows are thematically similar; the protagonist is suddenly thrust into a hyper-violent world and forced to question what it means to be human. However, the two draw very different conclusions from this scenario. I feel each of the shows form a solid counterpoint to the other, while still finding common ground.

As an aside, you may want to read the Tokyo Ghoul manga to pick up on all of the nuances that the show doesn't delve into.

In both anime's the MC gets a unknown virus or organ inside their body and feels confused at first but gradually gets the hang of fighting along with their new powers. Both anime's also have this dark athmosphere and and has a lot of gore scenes. And the "Monsters" have to fight each other to survive like: "The Strong Wins,The Weak Perish" thing.

So if you like Tokyo Ghoul then you might also like Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu.

A teenage boy is inflicted with part of a monster, which in turn turns him into a monster and makes him start slowly separating from society. With his new powers, the main character must now fight off members of the same monsters he is now a part of, or risk losing all his friends and family.

both are about an ordinary high school boy who acquires some kind of evil unknown power and wants to get rid of it, until it accepts it at some point. both with a lot of gory elements as that "evil power" has the tendency to kill people.

Both are horror animes with quite the amount of blood and a twist in the main characters life in wich both do not fully become the "monsters" in each respective anime and each of them try not to "fall" to the level of true monsters in a very psichological  way.

Like Ghoul, Parasyte has creatures that look like humans that eat people, a main character who is somewhere between a normal human and one of those creatures, lots of violent action, military type groups that try to kill those creatures. And Parasyte did all these things about ten times better.

The protagonist of both series becomes a half human/monster and struggle to keep hold of their humanity after being fused with one of the monsters they encountered. Throughout the series both show how the protagonists changed over time by the monstrous beings within them from personality to looks and how these protagonists finally accepted who they have become and ultimately uses their newfound powers to fight the other monsters they encounter.

If you like an anime serious/dark, gore, simple, straightforward and with barely any fillers/fan service storyline you would like both.

Both animes involve a type of monster killing and eating people to survive. Both animes also include the MC getting a sort of superpower from these monsters and slowly becoming one of them.

Art: Both animes have a similar art style. The blood, killings, and fights are also drawn similarly. Both are really good.

Sound: Both animes have a great soundtrack to them. Also, the sounds in the background or during a fight scene are perfect.

Story: Both stories are about the MC being semi taken over by the monsters in the show. (For tokyo ghoul, the main character is half human, half ghoul. For Parasyte, the MC has a parasyte in his right arm but is slowly starting to think and act like them) They involve the MC wanting to fight back against these monsters that they're up against and hopefully save those who are close to them, but slowly start to change themselves.

Both animes have a similar feel when it comes to the art, MC, and so on. The fighting and blood, gore scenes are similar. I recommend this anime to those who enjoyed Tokyo Ghoul. Parasyte is still on going so it's definitely a show to watch to fill in a thursday every week.  read more

The two shows revolve around the main protagonist having his life transformed and his body somehow affected by a supernatural force, and follows him as he adapts to his new life with this new hindrance.

These two animes are very similar to eachother. They both show a world with monsters who the human kind wants to get rid off and in both of these shows the main character becomes such a monster and they have to make due with what they got and survive against the odds.

Both these animes are very gory and mess with your mind a little. If you like the fact that Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul) is very timid and a good boy you'll also like Shinichi (Kiseijuu). Their reactions when they receive the "powers" are very similar since they don't believe in what has happened to them. The OST (Official Sound Track) of both anime are just perfect... Trust me, it's a must.

Both main characters fight a lot, except in Tokyo Ghoul, the protagonist is cold, emotionless and kinda boring tbh.

Both protagonists are human but at the same time they cant be considered 100% human.
They are both fighting for the survival of human race (partly for Kaneki).
The protagonists started to be physically weak, nerd and anti social students. But as the anime progress their personalities turned 320 degrees.

Tokyo Ghoul and Kiseijuu both involve a fictional universe where there are supernatural beings, which are natural predators to humans. These 'aliens' both take human form, although parasites are naturally not very human-like at the get-go. The male protagonist in a huge dilemma in both titles, as he is transitioning from one species to the other, while still trying to maintain his humanity in the process. Both anime have as well dark colour palettes, and great , catchy ost's.

Both are dark, supernatural, full of action, great story and soundtracks.Both MC's have to see the new world and adjust there, facing their inner demons and doing what they never thought they could do.Really good character development as well as animation and art.

Both shows cover the theme of "what it means to be human" after an accident makes the main character a hybrid between two species. I feel as though Kiseijuu does the job better with more character development and a better crafted story. Kiseijuu is superior in many ways, so if you liked Tokyo Ghoul, you most likely will like Kiseijuu more

Both anime feature some form of human vs fantasy struggle. Parasytes and Ghouls both need to feed on humans in order to survive, which makes humans their prey. Overall atmosphere is dark in both shows and feature development of Parasytes and Ghouls and how their lives are impacted.

They are both stories featuring a MC dealing with a transformation into something stronger and also more evil. The MC's both start out weak and turn stronger and stronger, as well as more cold hearted, as the series progress, this is seen especially in the second season of tokyo ghoul. They both feature monsters feeding on humans and have a similar underlying purpose of giving us a perspective view of how it might feel to have someone above you in the food chain. Both series have great animation and similarily gorey action.

So after watching Parasyte, I'll have to say that I got reminded of Tokyo Ghoul quite a number of times. Mainly because both protagonists seems like an average teenager to anyone, but yet they aren't fully human. When they first became half-human, they were struggling to control themselves and pretty weak, but as the story goes on, they will become stronger and realise that there are more of their kind then they expected, and they have to be prepared to fight for anyone against them. They also have to hide their secrets and still live a normal live. And of course, they will lose people whom they care for. read more

Theese anime are similar considering there are humans fighting against "monsters". And the main character is in both sides so it makes the story really catchy

Both shows have these lethal beings of unknown origin who are a threat to the human race, the MC on both shows merge with these beings which in the process gains them enhanced abilities which they use to protect mankind. Both the MC go through tragic experiences forcing them to change, becoming cold hearted.

The anime's are both about people that change to an monster which they are controlling for a part. the main characters have something attached to them which makes them monsters but actually both the main characters of the anime's are good people that destroy their own kind of 'monsters' to make the world better or protect others

Early in the series, both protagonists' bodies are taken over by creatures/species. The protagonists serve as bridges for both the humans and the creatures. They try to hide their secrets from the people that are most important to them. Both series do an excellent job of showing the new struggles for the protagonists, as they must adjust to their new lives. The protagonists receive big-time character development. From being weak and frustrated of the situation they're in, to becoming stronger, confident in their powers, and accepting what they really are. These series show what it's like for the human beings to be prey and hunted by stronger species. Both also question what it's like for these species, sometimes representing the show in their perspective, and whether they deserve to exist or not. Tokyo Ghoul deals with this concept more often and also better than Parasyte did. Tokyo Ghoul is more action based and shounen-like than Parasyte, as Parasyte deals with more thinking and is more philosophical-like. Both are great watches and very enjoyable and I highly recommend both. read more

The MC in both shows become involved in a standoff between man eating creatures and humanity. They both become something in between the two species and have a unique perspective compared to the other characters. The two shows give off the same suspenseful feel and are both sort of gory (if you find the uncensored versions).  I recommend Parasyte more than Tokyo Ghoul, because TG fell flat after the early episodes.

Both starts off with a human main character which becomes more or less than a human in Kaneki's case it's that he becomes a half ghoul and in Izumi's case it's that he becomes merged with migi. Both series are very addictive that will make it hard for you to stop in the middle of it after you've started watching it.

Tokyo Ghoul and Parasyte are both very similar animes due to the fact they have these changes happen to them. In Parasyte, Shinichi  is burdened with his right arm being taken over by a parasyte by the name of Migi, while in Tokyo Ghoul Ken is burdened with becoming a ghoul. Each character does not choose this path in life but they both must deal with it. I find the only difference is Tokyo Ghoul is a much darker anime while Parasyte felt a little more funny. In the end both characters accept their new selves and take on their respective journeys.

Are you a fan of Tokyo Ghoul? Are you looking for a cartoon like Tokyo Ghoul? Then Parasyte: The Maxim will be a good cartoon to watch. Wiith a big chunk of the universe (or even just our own world) still unknown to humanity, no one knows for sure if any life-forms, other than the ones we know, really exists out there. Extraterrestrial life or aliens, as we call them, might or might not be there existing for all we care. But, when these so-called aliens come manifesting before us from out-of-the-blue, can we truly say we're ready for them?
 Parasyte: The Maxim narrates the account of how  "Parasytes" comes to invade Earth. One night, while 17-year-old Izumi Shinichi was sleeping, a parasyte attempted to crawl to his brain in order to take control of his body. But, as Shinichi was wearing earphones at that time, the parasyte failed to invade his brain and instead dug into his arm.
From that moment on, the parasyte was forced to live in a mutual relationship with Shinichi (having have to work and sync together) as an arm with a mind of its own. read more

If you like Parasyte you'd like Tokyo Ghoul because Tokyo Ghoul was heavily inspired by the old 90s Parasyte manga. They both have a half human half monster protagonist that used to be a wimpy nobody. In addition, they have this dark tone that makes you feel awful about what's happening to the protagonist.

The similarities in plot, and characters make it to where if you like one the other will bring you enjoyment.

In this two animes the lead character is a male that undergoes a change in his body (changing into a ghoul/ having a parasyte) and don't really know how to deal with it at the begining. in this two animes there are epic fights and lots of gore.

Tokyo Ghoul and Parasyte are very similar, because

-Both of the main characters are very similar
-Both end up as half-breeds
-Both parasytes and ghouls eat humans
-Both shows are psychological 
-Both main characters are always freaking out at first but later become strong
-Both shows are bloody, dark, and discuss politics

The anime deal with similar ideas, a human main protagonist partially turning into a "monster" of some sort, and being denied by the humans and "monsters". They are both fairly gory and have the protagonist facing human and "monster" enemies to try and survive. The anime also deal with alienation and the question of what is considered to be human and what isn't. The ending of Kiseijuu (Parasyte) may have been fairly annoying, however the series is still enjoyable.  Overall the concepts are similar and they are both good anime, and have pretty damn good ops. 
Also be warned that both series are not particularly for the faint of heart. read more

OP: Tokyo ghoul is more popular, so if you liked TG check Kiseijuu out, it's really good, some people say it's better  than TG xD. I don't really care, myself.  I'm happy that there are 2 infested/bio/mutation series, in stead of one :P.

Both feature a male teenage protagonist who starts out as something of a wimp becoming "half-human-half-other" against their will. Both protagonists recognize that they are "the bridge between two species". Both feature something of a power struggle between humans and creatures that prey on humans and are far superior in terms of strength and natural defense mechanisms. Both feature dialogue/internal communication between the 'human half' and 'monster half'. Both feature creatures that look mostly human until they fling their sharp, freaky tentacles all over the place. Kiseijuu is the superior anime in my opinion.

Both anime is about the main characters being changed into a different type of human without them realizing. I guarantee that if you like one of these anime, you will like the other. Both characters got changed into something more than human, both anime shows the story of how these characters cope with their changes. The only difference is that tokyo ghoul is with humans and ghouls while kiseijuu is humans and aliens. To me, kiseijuu is like a complete version of Tokyo ghoul because it is just so similar

Ok, so to make it short,  parasyte is like tokyo ghoul, but done right.

It haves the same premise of "the enemy among us" , similar main character , tactical fights, etc etc.

Both are based in a world in which humankind is endangered by another species which feeds on it without being dystopia related i.e the world is not as affected as you would think. The difference is that Kiseijuu focuses on the parasites existential crisis whereas Tokyo Ghoul tries to extract sympathy for the ghouls from your heart.

- The fears and confrontations of both characters are very well explained and developed;
- Art design almost flawless;
- Amazing soundtrack;
- Tear jerking moments;

The main reason why I like both of these animes so much is that it makes us think and reflect on what we are. Not only does the plot have a good pace, but also carries a very big emotional punch. Is the human species really good? What is our reason to be alive? Where do we come from?
I see myself asking all these questions and bringing them to the real world. We might not know how to answer them, but we still continue on living because "I think, therefore I am". It doesn't matter if we are human or not, Earth doesn't belong to us and it must be shared by all. 
Maybe both are that kind of anime which makes us grow and help ourselves on the journey of life... read more

Both have protagonists who are struggling with their new found powers and also struggling to keep their humanity intact. Action filled and a bit emotional, this is the closest you'll get to experiencing something as parasyte:the maxim.

kiseijuu can make you cry ike tokyo ghoul can XD and thats not just a little. ^^ it's also similar because in both anime series, the main character turns from wimp to badass :)  and they both have monsters in it. so if you liked tokyo ghoul, or kiseijuu, than you should really watch kiseijuu, or tokyo ghoul :)

4)	Both animes questions and exposes the true revulsion of human society by tracing that of its defects and their nauseating behaviour towards that of an abnormal yet weaker organism. Both series explores that of morality. 

5)	Both protagonists become more conscious and mentally stronger when they discover the truth behind society by experiencing the life of the organism. 
6)	Both protagonists are only a half of the organism; half breeds technically (Half-ghoul, half-parastye, etc.)

7)	Both organisms presented in the animes feed on humans
8)	Both protagonists done nothing wrong and are forced to live their new lives

9)	Both protagonists have someone dear to them, thus protecting them.

Differences

1)	Parasyte has an organism where they are capable of thinking for themselves. In other words, once they overcome a human’s mind, they place their own mentality within (They are like mini beings) they can also morph themselves in numerous modifications.

For Tokyo ghoul however, this is not the case.  The powers of a ghoul are not really alive (like breathing or maintain mentalities of their own) albeit, it does change the human’s mental and physical state itself.

Tokyo Ghoul is more battle-focused and action-packed, while Parasyte is more body horror.

Similarities between the anime is the existence of creatures are eating humans and are parasites and ogres. Both main characters go through a few similar things. The fighting in both series doesn't vary much, with Parasyte being a bit more tactical / realistic, and Tokyo Ghoul being a bit more over-the-top.

Parasyte tells you a story about a young man named Shinichi Izumi, who is struggling to find his strength (similar to Ken Kaneki's problem) and how he adapts to living with a monster inside his body.

Watch it both. XD But seriously, I just can't compare the two since they have their own uniqueness in displaying the story. But all in all, they're both good.

They are both about a different species that devours humans and will both make you question your morality in the sense of which side is actually hypocritical. However I would say Kiseijuu does a better job with character development, plot and  all in all showing the feeling of the parasites.

Kiseijuu and Tokyo Ghoul are similar, as either show makes you think a little bit about humans' role in this world while comparing humans to cattle. Another similar point is the main characters' struggle to maintaining their human concepts.

Both are horror/action anime filled to the brine with amazing fights and various moments where you get to decide who's the bad guys and who's not. Whereas Tokyo Ghoul has a more violent and gory premise, Parasyte is much more calm and tries to relfect on the main characters decisions more.

Tokyo ghoul is similar to this anime because the main character is a boy who turns into something inhuman. Also I think this anime is worth watching because it doesn't have too many action scenes which is good because an anime with too much action can get extremely boring. It has an interesting story and some of the characters are very unique. I would recommend this anime to anyone you likes action, cool guys and mysteries.

Recommendations regarding anime like Tokyo Ghoul are many but still I believe that I should add my personal point of view.So,first in our list ,we have Kiseijuu:Sei no Kakuritsu or in english Parasyte:the maxim.I have watched this anime for about a year now and really have to say the best.The battle between being human or parasyte is just amazing.The opening and ending are just amazing and this goes for the soundtracks as well.All the characters are unique,in their own way and the graphics of the show too.I am not going into detail,regarding the plot of the show,but to be similar to tokyo ghoul,you know what this is about,right? read more

Both Tokyo Ghoul and Parasyte contain a male lead. The protagonist both have their humanity taken away without consent. In Parasyte the story is more about development in friendship with migi and lesser on the fighting, while in Tokyo Ghoul the story focuses on the fighting to keep the character development moving along.

Mutations, gore, two races battling for Earth. They're practically the same show xD Of course there are some obvious difference but whilst watching them I found that the protagonists were extremely similar. They went from nerdy, soft guys into cold and heartless half-humans. The similarities are almost uncanny. If you enjoyed either of these then make sure you watch the other if you loved that type of anime :)

They both have very similar messages, just that it's easier to sympathize with ghouls opposed to parasites. Both bring up questions people, in general, dislike bringing up and both have fairly philosophical aspects. They also both have main characters who eventually become stronger. I'd say more but I won't spoil anything lol

They are both related to a genre called "body horror", where the protagonists' bodies turns into something else -- in Tokyo Ghoul, a "kagune" sticks out of a ghoul's back; in Kiseijuu, the protagonist's right arm turns into another life form.
Both are psychological animes dealing with the protagonists' mental and emotional states as they encounter dangerous situations one after the other due to their body change.

That being said, Parasyte has a more sci-fi horror vibe whereas Tokyo Ghoul has a more dark urban fantasy vibe. While I didn't enjoy these two animes a lot, I can tell that fans of one would like the other.

Action shows that are pretty much shonen with some horror elements. The protagonists have to accept that they arent normal ppl anymore. Tokyo ghoul is 12 eps and badly paced. Both pretty entertaining.

Shinichi (Parasyte) and Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul) are very similar characters in that they both start off as weaklings at the beginning of their respective stories. Its not until after they gain their monstrous powers that they change into stoic, aggressive badasses who fight against other monsters in an urban environment. They also both deal with the inner conflict of balancing their human nature with their new monstrous nature (be it parasite or ghoul). Other similar elements between these two series are body-horror and gore, so if you like either series chances are you'll appreciate the other.

Both characters are half human and half monster. In the case of parasyte, Shinichi is half human and parasyte. While Kaneki is half human and half ghoul. The concept is quite similar because ghouls are being hunted down by humans just like parasytes are being hunted by humans.

If you enjoyed Tokyo Ghoul then I recommend you to watch Kiseijuu, the protagonist is a male lead as well that has the same problem that went through similar to Tokyo Ghoul also featuring supernatural by the name of 'parasytes' devouring human mankind. Both anime show the invasion of human eating "monsters" on sociaty while our protagonist is forces in between the sides. The main similarity for both anime comes from the fact that both their main characters are unlucky enough to face life-changing events that may totally alter their human ways. Kaneki Ken has to deal with his abrupt transition as a ghoul, while Shinichi Izumi has to live, co-exist, and survive with an alien who has merged with his hand. In either case, both main characters have to struggle and fight for their lives as their new predicaments deal with the mysterious unknown.

i am a fan of both and i would say tokyo ghoul is inspired from Parasyte
more over i would go ahead and say it is a rip off (tokyo ghoul: re is a different story)

Its kind of weird, throughout this anime I kept thinking of the similarities of this and Tokyo Ghoul. Both have characters that start off naïve and transform and its interesting to see where they go. Maybe a little edgy but in my opinion I actually enjoy that. I recently just watched it and binged it in two days and I'm sure you will too. If that doesn't tell you how good it is I don't know what will. So defiantly check this one out.

So you have Tokyo ghoul an embarrassing adaption of a series that takes on the topics of the morality behind eating meat when a new species becomes higher on the food chain than humans. Then we've got Parasyte which takes on the same topics, the protagonist who becomes half of this new species and half human must live in the middle where he wants to stop the man eaters but along the way becomes more like them. Tokyo Ghoul and Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu are pretty much different takes on the same story. Both have a human become a hybrid. However, after S1, Tokyo Ghoul starts to decline to the point where I felt angry at the anime staff for ruining the manga’s storyline. On the other hand, Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu is much more consistent, and is overall a much better anime. Tokyo Ghoul fans, watch all of Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu and read the manga if you really like it, and Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu fans, just watch S1 of Tokyo Ghoul’s anime and then switch to the manga afterwards. Both Tokyo Ghoul and Kiseijuu are very similar in some aspects . If you have seen one of them , you got to see the other , the similarities between the two are just to such an extent it's kind of unbelievable . Both anime have a dark plot and both are based in a world where there are other species who are like humans but need to consume Human flesh to survive . Just like Ghouls need to eat Humans to survive in Tokyo Ghoul , Parasytes need to take over human bodies and eat other humans to live . And the main characters also have a similar story . Just like in Tokyo Ghoul , the protagonist is a weak character who gains the powers of a ghoul , in Kiseijuu , the nerdy protagonist gets the power of a Parasyte after one parasyte fails to take over his body . Both anime have some intense character developement and many more similarities which I cannot mention without spoilers . Kiseijuu is shorter , darker and more goory , while Tokyo Ghoul is longer and less goory . Even the endings are very similar and satisfying , if you take into account the entire Tokyo Ghoul series . Both shows are about the coexistence between humans and "monsters". They make you rethink and question your life for at least a week. I highly recommend both shows!!! In my opinion teh protagonists Shinichi and Ken are similar because they transition into a new life with new circumstances. They contain a lot of gore and violence in general so be prepared!!Lastly, I want to mention the psychological aspect, but ... I'd rather let you figure it out for yourself ... you will understand after watching.

Yes, you might see other recommendations but LET ME CONVINCE YOU if you REALLY like Kiseijuu, you must watch Tokyo ghoul, but I recommend you to watch the 1st and 2nd season, you could the manga for the rest. Both the main characters turn into something they dont like. For example, Shinichi from Kiseijuu turn into parasyte and Kaneki turned into a ghoul. Both have character developments and quite powerful.

Both have a similar plot in which the weak main character is transformed into a monster and then from a monster to a badass monster who fight against other man-eating monsters. Both Animes contain one of the most satisfying and most badass scenes in anime history. Tokyo ghoul has 4 seasons each with 12 episodes and Parasyte has only 1 season with 24 episodes.

If you enjoyed the first season of tokyo ghoul and the root A, then i highly recommend you watch parasyte, it has similar concept, great animation, awesome fight scenes and a great narrative and story line. It gets boring at times and the character development is kinda bad but it's a great anime nonetheless.

The two stories are set in Japan, where on the one hand humans and on the other side there are humanoid beings, which have special powers that make them more powerful than humans. These beings are a threat to the human race as they eat humans. In these cases they put us ghouls (Tokyo Ghoul) and parasites (Kiseijuu sei no kakuritsu). Humans fear and hate ghouls and parasites and try to get rid of them, so there is a continuous will between both sides.

They focus on two boys, particularly university students, with a relatively normal life. Until they become half ghoul / parasite.

Parasytes and Ghouls are quite the same. Parayste is more philosophical and realistic where Tokyo Ghoul is more action-shounen based. Main characters undergo a physical chabge which boosts their powers but also changss their mentality and becomes less human.

Both are modern anime adaptions of classic manga. In both anime, the main protagonist has a monster inside of him and are struggling to keep their humanity intact while fighting monsters that can morph into humans. - Modernisations of an old classic

- E D G Y factor off the charts, inevitable really considering the source material

Both can comes of cheesy at times because of the age of the source material, but Devilman takes that in its stride, almost mocking itself. Parasyte tries to be more serious which sometimes backfires.

Both anime deal with pretty much the same theme. They have a human protagonist who suddenly becomes part-monster and must make difficult choices in regards to their morality. Both weave philosophical themes in an action-packed plot, filled with violence and gore. If you liked one, you'll probably like the other too.

Both deal with interactions with non humans prompted by the protagonist merging with what would in any other circumstance be his mortal enemy. Parastye obviously taking inspiration from the original devilman manga with none of Go Nagai's unnecessarily edgy gore sequences and none of Masaaki Yuasa's weirdly placed sex scenes in the adaptation.

Regular guy has to deal with a beast inside of him, fighting other monsters that are similar to him spreading among the world, starts off regular and becomes strong quickly, also alot of gore, crazy fights and drama, and the OST's are also similar with alot of eletronic dubstep style soundtracks that are very unique

The shows both have characters that are start wimpy but progress, extreme gore, monsters taking over peoples body's (with extreme bending), heavily EDM based OSTs, and a very character driven plot.

they both have similar theme,im pretty sure you will enjoy it if you enjoyed devilman
they are both:
Violent and gory
The main characters are both schoolboys and they were weaklings in the start
Also they fight monsters similar to those inside them (parasytes and devils)
Some of the monsters are trying to fit into humanity but they are treated with fear
and finally these monsters want to destroy humans in order to gain control and the MC's are trying to stop them

Shinichi (Parasyte) and Akira (Devilman) are very similar characters in that they both start off as weaklings at the beginning of their respective stories. Its not until after they gain their monstrous powers that they change into stoic, aggressive badasses who fight against other monsters in an urban environment. They also both deal with the inner conflict of balancing their humanity with their new monstrous nature (be it parasite or devil). Other similar elements between these two series are body-horror, gorey violence and social commentary on human nature, so if you like either series chances are you'll appreciate the other.

Both have monsters that occupy the human body. The main character becomes strong because of this and has to decide whether to fight for the human race or the monsters.

They both have the same exact premise of a different "species" taking over humans and hiding within society until the time when they can take over. The main characters also go through similiar changes and confront some of the same challanges throughout each series. Devilman is definitely the darker of the two but still pretty much mirrors Kiseijuu until the end where each show goes on a different path, which is cool because you can see two very different outcomes to basically the same story.

Both are horror-action series using the 'monsters in human clothing' gimmick in a metaphorical sense. They're well animated, modernised adaptations of their manga originals that uses it's premise to say something meaningful, with a good cast of characters, great OST and radical fights.

Alien beings are attacking the earth and taking the bodies of humans, but the main characters manage to use the power of those aliens to fight off the invasion. There are a lot of gory scenes, with a very dark tone throughout the shows, which is especially present in Devilman.

Both are terrific shows and both deal with pretty existential themes throughout. I watched Devilman: Crybaby first and fell in love with it right away. The large amounts of violence and gore plus a good story really tie together the whole show. I then watched Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu and was gripped in the same way I was with Devilman: Crybaby. Both have a very similar vibe to it, and have plenty of violence and gore, but backed by a story that can get you hooked fast. I highly recommend both if you are a fan of gory anime.

Both series are based off of older manga, and modernize the setting. Both series also follow a male protagonist in high school who gains access to powers by having his body possessed, and uses those powers to fight monsters in order to protect his family and friends.

Both are about teenagers who are pushovers and are weak, but both protaganists gain powers that are not terribly strong, but enhance the human body (superhuman), these powers don't bring them joy though, both characters are incredibly depressed and see themselves as outcasts to the general public, both are great, in terms of visuals Parasyte takes first place but in terms of story I think Devilman wins.

Extra: Both animes have awesome soundtracks, devilman crybaby's has a 80s Retro vibe where as Parasyte has a Dubstep Soundtrack

Devilman: Crybaby and Parasyte -the maxim- are set up similarly, The themes they explore are comparable: humanity’s weak grasp on power and the internal struggle of containing one’s inner beast. In terms of graphic content and hidden symbolism, these two anime are the most comparable to each other. In Parasyte, aliens from another world can disguise themselves as humans, and in Devilman, demons do the same. However, Devilman offers a lot more pathos and storytelling, while Patasyte focuses more on the inner struggles of characters. In terms of main characters and protagonist, Akira (Devilman) and Shiniki (Parasyte), have similar beginnings in their respective shows. They both are somewhat weak teenagers, and even after gaining powers, they aren’t particularly strong either. Both series question human morality and include many philosophical themes. These shows have characters with unique powers. The experience is fresh and not something seen before in other anime. The story is quite dark, innocent people die and the story is mature and realistic. And the best of all is that you always want to see the next episode. Sometimes there is so much tension that I have to stop myself of reading the manga to find out what happens.

-If you think Tokyo Ghoul is the most similar anime to Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu? Think again!
-Both get same “sorts” of powers, just one has a parasite and the other is turned into a killing machine. 
-both have main characters that act and think VERY similarly. 
-and much more, as for which one is better, I’d go for Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu, but Inuyashiki is very close.

Aliens come to earth and modify an ordinary person with an ordinary life, making them superhuman. Both are action-packed and gory. A big theme in both involves the main character trying to keep his humanity and learn what makes one human despite superhuman changes. They are both very tense and fast paced as well, with cliffhangers each episode.

The first similarity between the shows is pretty obvious. Two human main characters have been altered by alien involvement, which has completely changed their lives. Each now have a lot more power and a lot more responsibility to handle. Both anime are willing to show the grittier side of action. Admittedly, Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu has a lot more blood and definitely pushes forward a tenser environment. That’s to say you’ll probably get scared more often while watching it. Even the faint of heart could probably get through most of Inuyashiki, even though Hiro’s presence will always have you on edge.

Here me out here. They are similar in most cases. For instance, they are both about a somewhat "weak" protagonist that suddenly gains amazing superpowers,that only he can use, and must save the world. 

  They both are the only individual capable of these superpowers, and both of them gain the power randomly. 

Both of them are extremely gory (inuyashiki being more gory), and are tragic. 

 Generally, both of the, have a similar theme, also, just a side note, inuyashiki's op is fantastic.

In both shows, the protagonist and antagonist(s( for parasyte)) have some super-human capacities, making them stronger. The two of them tell the story of the protagonist trying to save people and the ones he loves against the evil, who has no emotional reason to kill them. The artstyle is also similar and very realistic, although Inuyashiki makes use of CGI a lot to animate the machines.

A foregin life form invades human society and starts infecting the population. Faced with thes alien creatures, the lines between man and monster, and good and bad start to shift. 
While these shows quite differ in characters and atmosphere (Shiki is a dark fantasy/mystery and Parasyte is more sci-fi and action oriented), both ultaimtely tackle same, age old question: What makes a human human and what differentiates us from animals/monsters? Parasyte goes one step further and gets a bit enviromental, questioning man's relationship with Earth, but not in an annoying, preachy fashion.

There are heavy existentialist themes in both of these shows that explore the question of what differentiates humans from monsters. They both have some terrifying imagery and death scenes. The characters in both of these shows are three dimensional and warring with internal demons while they take on the external plot.

Mysteriously in both series people end up becoming the other species, some find interesting ways to use their new found abilities. New forms of life invade a city/town and people start dying. The whole premise of both Anime is that humans often consume animals or other species but when they are the prey they ignore that fact. I feel Shiki gives us a better perspective and is more representative on the theme. Meanwhile Kiseijuu is more about trying to co-exist.

A foreign lifeform invades human society and infects the humans that it comes in contact with. Those lifeforms are trying to multiply and take over human society steathly at first and more openly later on,while some of the humans are aware of this and are trying to stop it from happening.

What makes humans superior to other species? Isn't it okay for predators to hunt humans? We eat livestock, how is it any different than an alien species thinking of us as livestock? In Parasyte, the main character Shinichi Izumi's right hand is taken over by a parasite. Pretty much, the parasites try to take over the human brain and they can morph whatever body part they took over. After taking over the body, they eat other humans as their source of food. People are dying around the world but they don't know what the causes of the deaths are in Parasyte, which is similar to Shiki, since everyone is dying and they don't know why. In both anime, there is a threat to the humans and the humans have to figure out what to do. Both Shiki and Parasyte do a great job in exploring topics that we don't usually think about, and they both have great character development throughout the anime. read more

Just like the relationship between Tokyo Ghoul and Kiseijuu, Shiki and Kiseijuu are similar in almost the exact same way. It's essentially a transition from humanoid creatures to very much alien creatures. Still, I think it's worth watching them both. Just as a warning, Shiki is technically a part of the horror genre. It's not gory at all, but the atmospherical tension is intense.

Feels. If you want anime where plot is great and at the same time you need some attachment or say feels to the anime then Parasyte The Maxim is what you're looking for. Both contain strange creatures suddenly appearing in their town and then shit goes down (damn that rhymes). Both Have Great OSTs. Both Have Great Suspense. Both have some amount of Horror. Ending In Both Animes will leave you mesmerised. Thanks.

Both are about mysterious creatures invading somewhere, in Shiki it's a small town whereas in Parasyte it's the entirety of Japan or even the world. Both are about a young man that is in some way affected negatively by it. Both feature characters that are curious about the creatures and experiment with them in some way, and those characters meet the protagonist later in the story, though the way it is executed is different in the two shows. Both shows feature a long brutal scene that happens because of the creatures. Both shows never really disclose why or what is causing the creature infections. The way the creatures function in the two shows are very different however, whereas in Parasyte anyone infected turns into something completely else in Shiki it's a form of vampire. read more

We're the real monsters according to these two anime. Shiki has the same theme of questioning humanity as Parasyte. They both show the cruelty of humans to the monsters, especially at the later half of both, and monsters to the humans equally and doing a good job at questioning if humans are right. They both also have a lot of monster and body horror if you like that. The major difference between the two, especially when starting both is that there's more fighting against the Parasyte's in Parasyte while there's more of a mystery aspect to the Shiki in Shiki.

Ajin is the new Sei no Kakuritsu in my opinion because, the key about these two series  is the suspense. Kei reminds me about Shinichi in some ways like :The poor main character who wants a normal life but, BOOM something comes on and change his entire life. Also,while Shinichi has Migi, Kei has his phantom or whatever it is.

Dark and cruel world.   A fight between humans and parasytes/Ajin. 
Both anime have a school boy who's pretty much innocent and naive, and finds himself to be the parasyte/ajin. 
Lots of action, violence, gore, fight between humanity and ajin/ghouls. 
Psychological, questioning morals of what's good and bad/right or wrong, and humanity. 
Shinichi has Migi,  Kei has IBM ( Invisible Black Matter) who fights and protect them.

In both there are humans that need to hide because of supernatural stuff. The Ajin need to hide because of their abilities which the government wants to exploit and experiment on. In Kiseijuu the parasites are aliens that want to hide because of their plans and the main character is someone that kept control over his body and is all by himself like the main character in Ajin.

Both are involved/confronted with others of their "race" what want to harm humanity. And they don't want to work together with them. (Which means they need to hide from other humans and from others of their "race".)

Politics are involved in both. In Kiseijuu the parasits infiltrate political positions. In Ajin they Ajin try to influence the politics through fear and terrorism. read more

If you like Action, Horror, Psychological, Seinen... And of course Fantasy (Kiseijuu is Sci-Fi, while Ajin is Supernatural), you'll enjoy these animes. 
There are big changes in high school students' lives, when they realize they aren't ordinary humans anymore. They're trying to live peacefully, while humans are hunting "monsters" (parasytes or demi-humans) and monsters are planing to take governance in their hands. But things aren't going as well as protagonists wanted to... 
And both animes have similar atmosphere, so if you liked Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu, you should watch Ajin.

Both animes have a premise, death note being the death note, and parasyte being the parasyte. Both shows have characters that build and develop around this premise. which in turn also creates a thicken plot and interesting set pieces of story.

In both shows the main character stumbles upon a supernatural power and has to hide it from everyone. He uses that power for what he thinks it's good for humanity. He also is accompanied by a cynical supernatural being that comes with that power and he is mostly the only one who can speak to it. 
These are dark, psychological shows and have a very similar atmosphere.

I really found my self that i was rewatching Death Note with different Plot. Like
1) Cops are suspected of Light for being **** (censored) , same case for protagonist of Parasyte.
2) Human are being killed in both anime and cops are trying to solve it.
3) Shinigami Ryuk can be seen in terms of Migi (Parasyte, right hand of Shinichi) that no one know but him for both cases.

They both tell the story of a male high school student acquiring the titular power, which belongs to a supernatural being who proceeds to guide/support the protagonist as he uses this immense power with good intentions, with said power gradually and radically changing him. He keeps his power a secret from most people and is hunted after because of his association to it. He consequently gets increasingly involved with the police.
With this same premise, they convey such different stories, as each anime has a power, a set of characters, and a progression, that is unique to their respective anime.

Both stories follow someone who suddenly comes into possession of an extraordinary power.  Both protagonists fight to conceal their powers from others, while using the powers for various reasons.  Both anime's also aim to make you question your values and morals as a human, which I found interesting.  Both anime's also have an element of investigation of sorts.  Death Note has a lot more involvement with the police, but Parasyte has a decent amount as well.  My first recommendation, but I couldn't help feeling like the two were similar as I was watching Parasyte.

Both series have a rather low amount of "randomness" where foreign elements are added to the story that completely change the course of the story and could feel very unnatural and unnecessary to some people, people who like their stories to have a fair conflict with believable progression from point to point will probably enjoy both series.

Graced by alien. Death Note and Parasyte both follow a high schooler who ends up in getting paired with an unearthly existence. In this period, the students must stay undercover from the looming threats these unearthly beings have given.

DN has Light take one of Ryuk's death notes, thus, becoming a serial killer. Parasyte has Shinichi having a parasite, Migi, live within him.

Both are good anime featuring the same character progressions. Though DN is a supernatural, Parasyte is sci-fi. Both brought to you by the same studio Madhouse.

Everything hits the fan several times.

Both anime feature a good amount of violence and disturbing imagery as well as  a lot of themes about humanity and the characters fighting for it. They intrigue you by making you want to find out more about the monsters they star and then just when you think that you've figured it out they flip it on its head and change how the monsters can and/or do act. The level of threat that both anime manage to build is very real and the when the intense scenes come, BOY are they intense. Neither show holds back on what they will and won't throw at you. On top of similar themes, the main character and his motives for fighting these creatures are also somewhat the same as are certain mysteries in the show - so go ahead and check it out! read more

Both anime involve powerful alien-like creatures that have a directive to kill humans. MC can use these powers to fight back. The moral dilemma "am i turning into a monster" is very present in too. 
Gory brutal action with a fine dramatic story in a different setting.

In both anime, a dangerous creature threatens humanity and the main character somehow gets hold or becomes a part of the group that threatens humanity however with his naive rightousness and sense of justice, he finds a way to use the creature to fight it’s own kind.

I feel like attack on titan is a shounen take on Parasyte, or vice-versa, so if you'd like to see a more seinen approach to a monster/ action/ thriller series, then Parasyte is a must watch.
They both tackle the core concept of, "what makes someone a monster" and if you enjoy that psychological aspect of attack on titan, and how that moves Erens character and shapes his development, I can garantee that you will like Parasyte, as this concept is the key theme used to show how most of the characters develop in parasyte.

Midori no Hibi addpermalink

Midori is the EVEN MORE bizarre romantic equivalent to Parasyte's grotesque parasitic broship. They present the same problems - namely, how it's too awkward to masturbate with a talking hand - but go about them in very different ways. One involves a lot of death; the other involves a lot of love. 

The 'hand' in Midori is more like a female talking hand-puppet that JUST HAPPENS to be joined to the lead's arm one morning when he wakes up... and is the girl the lead has a crush on, ofc. On the other hand, Parasyte has a transforming alien life-form that, initially, had every intention of eating the brain of its host. So, slight differences. But these are the only two series in known existence that deal with a symbiotic person-hand relationship and all of the WEIRD bonding that occurs as a consequence.

Watch Midori for laughs and Parasyte for disturbing action... and Migi. How can you/guys not like a right-hand with a mouth and Aya Hirano's voice? read more

A symbiotic relationship between parasite and human exists in both anime. 

Coincidentally, both take place with the protagonist's right hand. But in the case of Midori no Hibi, the so called parasite is an actual girl. Whereas in Kiseijuu, it is an actual parasite.
 
Both have to learn to adapt the current odd situation that either of them have no actual idea how they ended up in.

Parasyte is one of my favorite anime of all time, the way it portrays the character development of Shinichi by forcing him to literally share his body with another entity is amazing. Personally loosing a hand or an arm is a great fear of mine, it would change so many things about the way that I live my life. Most importantly at least for a while after that life changing event I would feel robbed of one of the most important things in my life. Agency. Shinichi's journey throughout the show has always resonated with me, however while Parasyte attempts to show us what it would be like to coexist with a completely alien entity, Midori no Hibi attempts to show us something entirely different, what if your hand was a waifu? Both shows have similar, somwhat dark atmosphere, are packed with action and very fun to watch, while at times pondering on more serious topics. 
Both have supernatural elements, and [minor spoiler] deaths of many characters. 

One of the similarities is also main character that undergoes a change in his life and acquires abilities that he's never dreamed of, suffers, changes forever and learn more about what it is to be human. 
And both OSTs are amazing, animation is solid (jjk's animation is more impressive imo, but Parasyte also looks amazing)

Both Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu and Jujutsu Kaisen have the main protagonist sharing a body with a supernatural force. In Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu, Shinichi Izumi gets infected with a parasite, and in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadora gets infected with a curse.

Both are dark action horror anime, with Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu leaning on the seinen side, and is much darker as a result. But both are still pretty similar. Both are 24 episodes as well (Jujutsu Kaisen will have more seasons in the future, however), and the same character designer worked on both.

While the storyline and tone are very different, Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu and Jujutsu Kaisen (TV) both have the main protagonist go through a big change. The art styles are slightly alike due to a shared character designer as well. Both have great animation and music as well!

Similar to Shinichi Izumi, Igarashi Ganta comes to possess new supernatural gifts after the mysterious murder of his classmates. Both characters end up in a life or death struggle against others with similar supernatural abilities and contemplate the morality of the actions of those around them as well as their own. Both Parasyte and Deadman Wonderland discuss the overall themes of humanity, power / control, and whether the ends justify the means. Similarly, both shows have an element of the supernatural and center on gore / death as a plot component. Both anime's have a very similar sort of powers, both of which are forced on people and they have to live with it. Well that is one boy named Shinichi Izumi who came in contact with a parasite but was able to stop it taking over his brain. Now they must co-exist and the comedy is very well done, taking the p*** out of most cliches and anime relationships. This is one of those anime's that get better as they go on with a great ending that leaves no questions un-answered.

Unearthly students. Deadman Wonderland and Parasyte both follow students who gain an unearthly feature. With this feature, they must pull through those who are out to get them because of this power.

Deadman Wonderland has Ganta with his deadman powers, Parasyte has Shinichi with Migi living inside him.

Both are good action sci-fi horror anime with Parasyte having deeper character development than Deadman Wonderland.

The MC is overpowered to the police and military. Bloodshed, gore, violent and intense battles. Good story. In Kiseijuu, many people are affected by the virus. In Elfen Lied, the people who has this power is caused by an experiment.

There might be some obvious gore and violence in Parasyte: the Maxim, but if you haven't seen Elfen Lied, you haven't seen it all! That's because Elfen Lied is a much higher ranked anime in the gore department, especially with it's (in)famous first episode. Both species slash and dice, but Parasytes can't stand a chance to the Diclonius.

Inhumane. Parasyte and Elfen Lied both follow individuals with strange bodily powers, both of who end up getting hunted down due to the threat they propose to humanity.

Parasyte follows Shinichi and the merged Migi in their daily life of being chased down by both parasites and humans. Elfen Lied is the same with being chased down by both the diclonii and humans. Both stories also give the MCs Lucy and Shinichi alike the descendent to a cold nature having little empathy for those among them.

Both are good action anime, with themes of psychological and horror.

Elfen Lied and Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu both focus on a new type of species that is being hunted down by humans. There is a lot of gore and messed up stuff going on in both anime. Both anime are quite tragic as well. If you are looking for a tragic anime with some good content, check these out.

Both involve a species which is a threat to humanity, and in turn is threatened by humanity. Humans use brutal strategies to fight back, but can you blame them? Humans are being slaughtered. But species is intelligent and also wants to survive.

Both series involve a glasses-wearing main character being infected by a strange virus/being that threatens to take over their mind. However, in the nick of time, they manage to keep the intruder out of their bloodstream and save their humanity by cutting off their own circulation and blood flow to the brain. As a result, they are now half-bonded with whatever wanted to take over their entire body, giving them a unique set of powers. Both series are packed to the brim with blood, gore, horror, and action elements, set in worlds where humans aren't at the top of the food chain.

Both anime involve quite a bit of blood shed, questions arising concerning the protagonist's human-status, and some of the strangest characters you will ever see in anime. Shinsekai yori addpermalink

Two competing factions battle for survival.  In both of these series it is humans vs some kind of perceived monstrous being.  However, soon you realize both are simply vying for survival, an instinct every creature has.  This further blurs the line between good or bad.  Although I think Shinsekai yori does an immensely better job at this than Kiseijuu does, there are parallels and in the end you wonder who is the real monster.

If you like mature and dark animes like Parasyte, I would suggest Monster. Like Parasyte, it is a great horror and seinen anime. It is a little different than parasyte as it is not about supernatural beings but about a serial killer. Monster is also by Madhouse Studios (the same studio that is making Parasyte).

The main characters of both series are very similar. Both heroes have similar names (Shinichi and Shuichi), lose the need to use glasses, and start off as shy nerds and turn into cold fighters.

Both series also deal with an alien race coming to Earth and affecting the lives of the characters when they come into contact with humans, although in Gleipnir they are mostly in the form of inanimate objects.

Both have alien beings that form respective parasitic/symbiotic relationships with humans, the way these humans combat each-other is very reminiscent. The metal screw type protrusions of alien 9 as well as the bladetype things of parasyte and the way they are applied in battles are very similar. Both involve the main character entering this relationship with the alien against their will.

Both shows are about understanding, or at least trying to understand others (humans and humans or humans and arbiters in Death Parade, parasites and humans in the case of Kiseijuu). Excellent execution in terms of art style, animation, and sound for the two shows. If you've seen one, then you have to watch the other so as to gain more perspective on the whole coexisting and mutual understanding concepts both share.

Both main characters are thrown into a battle involving the supernatural, and must fight in order to protect innocent people who are inevitably caught up in the conflict.  Both have to deal with moral dilemmas of what is right and wrong, how far should one go to protect strangers, and the purpose to fight.  In both anime other characters challenge the MC's way of thinking, as every character attempts to progress his or her agenda by killing his or her enemies.

As both anime are action anime, one would enjoy both series for their great fights and duels between either servants or parasites, although F/sn: UBW has the superior animation by far.  While both have dark themes, the serious action is often juxtaposed with carefree, peaceful school and family life as well as romance. read more

Both of them are horror anime with their main strong point being the plot. The gruesome killings from the Kiseijuu can also be found in Higurashi or even more. There is another strong resemblance with Kiseijuu but it's a huge spoiler so only those that watched Higurashi will understand.

Both titles are based on sci-fi manga from the 1980's. Both focus on the main protagonist who is merged with an alien power that gives superhuman abilities and use their powers to fight off other evil alien monsters disguised as humans and both kills their enemies with gruesome attacks. The differences between the two is that The Guyver is more sci-fi action oriented while Parasyte is more psychological horror. If you like, you should enjoy the other.

In both anime, the main protagonist has a symbiotic partner with their hand. D has Left Hand and Shinichi Izumi has Migi. Left Hand and Migi have their own unique personality and has a bond with the main character. They are also horror action-packed anime with blood and gore. Both titles are also animated by Madhouse. The difference between the two is that Parasyte has aliens while Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust has vampires and other monsters. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

Both anime have something that is hidden within the human which emerge and leave a bizarre scene. Is it evil? I don't know. The main villain can sometime feel similar too.

Bio Hunter is more mature and leave many questions unanswered but is worth watching if you are not looking for a great anime or a masterpiece.

Well,these both anime has a creatures seems as a normal human but actually they're a monster that disguise as a human (Yoma in Claymore and Parasyte in Kiseijuu). (sorry, bad english)
And then, the MC in these both series are a half-human and half-monster which in Claymore some people are like that too.
Both series are have a Violence, Gore, and Horror inside which Claymore is most likely very very darker and more gore than Kiseijuu ..
Yeah, if you like the one,you will like the others ...

Just like Mirai Nikki, Kiseijuu has a lot of gore and bloody scenes, the plot is original and the graphic is awesome just like Mirai Nikki. Both animes have unexpected turns of situation. Also, you may like that little drib of romance inside it that makes the character grow little by little.

The entire time I was watching Parasyte the Maxim all I could think of was Birdy the Mighty. Both series have this aspect of alien/mutants who wear the skins of human race. Both series in turn have the same element of monsters who eat humans. Both are pretty dark and action packed border lining that of a horror series.

In the case of Birdy the Mighty, the main character who is a male has a brush in with death, by the main character female who is an alien warrior of sorts trying to hunt these monsters among men, in her mission she accidentally kills the boy having to fuse her consciousness and body with his. He wakes up thinking its all a dream until she makes herself known, with one twist she can take over his entire body. He of course has to balance normal everyday life in school and family while keeping her a secret. As they also battle insane mutant monsters. (just simply describing this is a lot like describing Parasyte the Maxim.) 

Both are amazing series that have captured the good, bad and ugly sides of human vs monster. Both are dark and horrific at times. Birdy the mighty was on of those "cartoons" my parents bought for me as child because they thought it was only a "cartoon". Incidentally it was scarier then most horror movies I had managed to sneak and watch as a child. 

Watching Parasyte the Maxim for me was like a blast from the past redone, remastered, and downright amazing. I haven't laughed, cried, and be genuinely so focused and made to feel uneased by a show in a really long time. I couldn't take my eyes of it. Highly recommend both. read more

They are both done by studio Madhouse. They share many of the same genres: Psychological, Sci-Fi, Action and Seinen. They have a very similar art style too in my opinion. Also, they both have some brutal death scenes and are overall fairly violent. The main characters in each anime did not want to be put in the situation they are in.  Finally, EVERYONE WANTS TO KILL THE MAIN CHARACTER!

"Parasyte" and "Another" feel very alike to me. Not only are they both horror anime, but Kouichi feels a lot like a slightly younger Shinichi- nice guys who are initially a bit of a wimp but overtime gain a strong resolve to protect the people close to them and do what's right. Migi and Mei both initially appear to be hostile and start off as cold and distant but slowly warm up to Shinichi/Kouichi, and generally go unseen by most people.

In a way, Mei fills the roles of both Migi and Satomi, being not only Kouichi's closest ally but also his love interest.

Ultimately, while both are worth checking out, I can't really think of anything about "Another" that "Parasyte" doesn't do better, except for maybe the romance, though "Parasyte" does have the advantage of twice as many episodes. read more

Both series are slightly existential and cover heavy themes, both deal with the survival of humankind, and both contain supernatural elements in a semi-realistic world. For similarities concerning the main protagonists, both end up in situations where they must unwilling fight in order to live, both are condemned by almost everyone in their lives once they know the truth about who they really are, both have problems with their "girlfriend", and both have a few metal breakdowns throughout the series.

This may seem like a contradictory recommendation, as the two reside in different genres/tones/story styles. To put it simply: Parasyte: the Maxim is a sci-fi horror-thriller and Mob Psycho is pretty much the opposite. That said, the core of both of these stories is in parallel. They are both stories about compartmentalizing and stifling ones emotions in order to navigate ones life and experiences. Both protagonists grow by finding a way to get in touch with their emotions and accept themselves for who they are. They learn how to process their emotions and their respective genres and worlds serve as a landscape to showcase this journey. It's my first recommendation so sorry for any kind of mistake. I will try my best to not spoil story. 

I watched parasite the maximum a long time ago and when I watched 86 i feel like both anime trying to show same thing like love, thing's that r wrong, how selfish a human can be. Borth story's focuses on a different world. In 86 it's focused on struggle of becoming free from dark side of society  the brutal nature of war, racism and oppression. And in parasite the maximum  it  focused on dark side of human. You just became connected to character. 86 takes time for world building so don't drop it watch until the end u will like it.

A new entity comes to earth, for unknown reasons and they are trying to find out what their existence means. At first it only lived by following its natural instincts, but as the events unfolded, this new entity began to learn to use reason and logic. Although these two anime tell a different story premise. The approach taken by Fushi is more of a drama, while Parasyte is more of a horror-tragedy.

Art: The dark grungy atmosphere and presentation of the animation are almost the same.

The stories both revolve around highschool students wich follow the goal of protecting humanity and their loved ones from the antagonists of each series. While they have some in common they do have some in uncommon, like the love story between Shinichi and his girl, a love story that isn't in WorTri but a story of Osamu doing all he can to protect Chika wich is like a little sister to him.

Kiseijuu is a very macho show, a story about masculine virtue, about solving problems with your fists but also contain a surprising amount of heartfelt drama. s.CRY.ed feels the same. 

I like s.CRY.ed a bit more but both are great shows.

     Despite being anime of totally different genres with somewhat different tones, both Parasyte and Land of the Lustrous have one major thing in common; the use of body horror to bolster their horror aspects, world-building, and dramatic sequences.
     Parasyte is horror through and through, but it comes, in my opinion, not just from both the actual horror of the monsters killing people, but even more so the general body horror plot device. Land of the Lustrous lacks the first by and large, but is plentiful in the latter, so if you find yourself drawn to a struggle in which the participants don't play by the rules of the human body, with a horror aspect to boot, Land of the Lustrous may be exactly the show you're looking for. read more

If you are like me, then you enjoyed Ao no Exorcist for the overall concept of the show.  I love the idea of a character struggling with an inner evil that they had no control over receiving, so they must keep their struggle a secret.  Parasyte deals with a wimpy teen who can't figure out what is wrong with his hand, until one day he jumps out into the street to save a little girl from getting hit by a car, and he suddenly sees an eye and claws grow out of his hand that completely stop the car in its tracks.  He keeps his sudden development a secret from everyone and starts to loose his own identity as the show progresses.  The anime is in a type of horror style and is very addictive/binge worthy. read more

I never gave much thought about the similarities about two shows after i rewatched them twice. In fact, they have an internal similarity about:
 "two minds sharing one body" and 
"how it works out for the two characters". 
Sounds interesting? It should. :) Anyways, Kiseijuu has some gore elements but Hikaru no Go is quite light-hearted in that matter. Both shows are quite deep in the relationship i mentioned earlier. If you are interested, check them out, both are very well written stories.

The main male protagonists from each of these series must come to terms with losing his humanity and turning into an inhuman/supernatural being. Araragi and his vampiric powers; Shinichi and the sensory/physical bonuses he gains from the parasite symbiote in his body. On top of that, glorious, well-done animation and sound design.

Just to get it out of the way: this 'recommendation' would get a tad technical if it focused on arm loss. In the manga, Kurokami's lead, Keita, loses his arm at the start and has it replaced with someone else's as part of a life-saving contract. In both Parasyte's manga and anime, its lead, Shinichi, also has his arm replaced by another lifeform. So, a superficial similarity exists. HOWEVER, this becomes confusing due to Kurokami's anime being a bastardised version where, instead of arm swapping, HEARTS are exchanged. And in Parasyte... /spoiler

...but I'm not here to compare the two based on arms/hearts. That would be daft. You see, the true similarity is how main characters from seinen manga were altered in more shounenish adaptations. An ignored detail of Parasyte's anime (due to its popularity / ignorance) is how, early on, it was 'modernised' to appeal more to otaku. In the manga, Shinichi didn't wear glasses, nor did he ANGST over Migi's existence. Girls did not gather to blush discussing him. In fact, manga Shinichi acted similar to Kurono Gantz: an average guy dealing with an almost black comedy situation. EVENTUALLY the anime had Shinichi act like his badarse manga counterpart as the two versions sync'd up, but even now it's irksome how the female characters' design / PINK EARPHONES and personalities were altered in order to appeal to... a wider audience.

Kurokami's anime is more of a complete butchering. Firstly, Keita: he's lowered in age so he can attend high school (he's an adult moocher that programs games, in the manga) and changed from a very human arsehole (violent and abusive; usually comically so) to some kind of internal monologuing emo whose only comfort is riding a bicycle alone in the dead of night. ALL of the appeal and comedy is drained by Mr. Average Nobody replacing someone with a naturally dickish yet strangely likable personality. It becomes a different, far inferior series because of this alone. But, unlike in Parasyte, the entire structure of the story was altered and it went anime original BAD. The early Shinichi edits in Parasyte have nothing on how the entirety of Kurokami was ruined: fights even being shortened to the point fighting styles are removed! 

TLTR: Seinen manga get an added shounenish edge when turned into anime as their main characters are changed to appeal more to... a certain type of male viewer. You need only listen to Parasyte's opening song in order to gain an understanding of what demographic it was targeted at.  read more

Both anime feature the main protagonist facing shapeshifting creatures that can disguise themselves themselves as people. Both are action-packed anime featuring gore and blood. If you like one, you should like the other as well.

Both titles feature the main character (Shinichi in Parasyte and Ryo in Project ARMS) that has a mutated right arm that gives them superpowers. In both series, the main hero has another life form that lives inside their right arm (Migi in Parasyte and The Jabberwock in Project ARMS) that can change forms depending on the situation. The main character in both shows dislikes killing, but will do so if necessary. Both shows also have a good mix of action and drama. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

Both titles are based on sci-fi manga from the 1980's. Both are action-packed anime with blood and gore. They both focus on the main protagonist who is merged with an alien power giving him superhuman abilities. The main protagonist in both anime use their powers to fight off other evil alien monsters disguised as humans. The differences between the two is that The Guyver is more superhero oriented while Parasyte is more psychological horror. If you like, you should enjoy the other.

The main protagonist in both Blassreiter and Parasyte must struggle to control their inner monster while keeping their humanity intact. They are also action-packed anime with a similar dark and gritty atmosphere filled with violence and blood. If you like one, you will enjoy the other.

But mushishi narrative style more like in parables and each episode tells completely different story with some lessons for viewers (which he should find and learn by himself). Both main characters deal with the struggle of not allowing people discover their secret power. Nyanko Sensei and Migi, the Protectors to both Natsume and Shinji, are only their to protect their masters in order for their own personal gain. Although reluctant at first, Both Natsume and Shinji develop a relationship with their protectors later on in both shows.

Both products often have scenes in the main character's family house. I don't know exactly how explain it, both products gave me a strong sense of the human social life and they showed me his beauty. I can understand that the similarities are a bit tiny, but I was unable to ignore the strong vibes of Aku no Hana that Parasyte continuously gives me.

Although appearance wise they may have nothing in common- one about parasytes and the other being a mecha and such, the first thing that came to my mind when finishing Parasyte was Eureka Seven. They have strikingly similar themes. 

They both deal with Earth and nature and the bond between two species. Their endings are pretty similar as well ^^

Both anime presents a story about humanity trying to co-exist with a different life form that not only challenges human identity but also human morality. In both stories, the main characters has to juggle the complex issues that rise as these invading species try to blend into society.

Both animes treat about a normal teenager who one day is involved in a fight against a monster (a chiropteran in Blood+ and a parasite in Parasyte) and is helped by a character who later turn into its inseparable partner (Haji in Blood+ and Migi in Parasyte). After this moment, both protagonists develops supernatural abilities and decides to fight against the monsters to protect their loved ones after losing one member of their family. Meanwhile, the monsters conspires and mix up with the human society, planning to domain the world. The army is also involved in the story.

However, Blood+ has a more slow pacing with traces of the story being revealed little by little, while Kiseijuu is a more fast paced anime, with more action scenes and with a somewhat environmental message. read more
