I also include a briew review of Blue Dragon: Tenkai no Shichi Ryuu at the end end of this review.

Story
The story is good it's Dragon Ball meet Digimons. Because our heroes are kids that control monsters., our heroes go from town to town to get closer to the enemies's headquarter. and gather allies. pretty standart. 6
Th story has a very good twist that you will enjoy( can't tell because it's a spoiler. I suggest you keep watching it till the end. 7

Art

PROLOGUE
Ahhh... A series with artwork by the guy who made Dragon Ball. What can go wrong? ... Surprise! Everything did. As long as there are fools who only look at the shell and not the content and as long as there are producers who take advantage of that, we will have lame series like this one who become famous because of hype alone and not because of quality.

ART SECTION: 6/10 [Dragon Ball meets Pokemon.]
A few seconds and you already see Akira Toriyama’s signature in the artwork. That is very good if you are a Dragon Ball fan. Shapes are clear, colors are vivid. For a read more

´I DON´T WANT TO LET YOU GO´ the end song of this serie´s and after watching this i REALLY DIN´T wanted to let this anime go!!!!!!! personally i had soo much fun watching it and a big laugh. Seemed that the works inspired by dbz and final fantasy influences was not in vain, at least for fans of the genre´s. The ONLY minor thing about it was the fast build-up of the charachters at 1till episode 8 or so, and some behavior the charachters have, but as the serie progresses it leaves it more to the background. I had no idea that a entertaining serie´s read more

Anime: Naruto
At first glance they probably don't look like they have anything in common but both have similar characters

two boys who both have incredible power in the form of a beast in them that they didn't know about. They learn about their power due to another intervention whose interested in helping them become stronger and helping them learn how to control the power. Both shu and naruto interest in becoming stronger leads them to find a rival in their team mate. jiro and sasuke both have a painful past that motivates them to fight so the can gain revenge.

Anime: Dragon Ball
If you'd seen Dragon Ball, it's highly suggested to watch Blue Dragon because the characters as the history line is very alike, including the animation and the use of the characters, you with find it almost as if they were the same but in diferent anime, with a diferent develop.

Anyway, it is a diferent universe, with a diferent end.

But a good history they made...i liked it a lot, in some parts.

Anime: Pokemon
Both involve using monsters to fight and have collectable card games and such.
also both based on video games.

Though blue dragon has a more interesting story (not vastly)
and reaches some sort of conclusion rather then just dragging it on and on
for many years.

It also has characters designs by the man who made dragonball
and music from the composer of final fantasy games which should hopefully get you interested

Anime: Dragon Ball Z
They are both from the same creaters and the characters in both anime look like each other

Anime: Digimon Savers
Both have some type of beasts, one has digital monsters as trusty side kicks, one has a shadow beast but both beasts are combat worthy yet friendly with a sense of humor
Both have a simple (not so simple if you watch them but...) light vs darkness scenario
Both have a "Friendship is power" feel to them
Both have epic feel battles and great finales
Both make the finales very very "all hope is lost" in one way or another
