War over books..
well.. can't say it's a war in read or die, but it almost a war..
The plot in the second half of each of these animes is similar in many aspects. In both shows, the "bad guys" are cowards who try to change society by brain washing or conditioning humans. Both these shows carry messages in relation to freedom of thought and the resolution of human conflict but R.O.D. also explores the concepts of education and culture. R.O.D. deals with a few more questions but it also leaves many unanswered, whereas Black Cat, despite its simpler plot, provides more closure.
Both anime are mystery and about crimes. The characters and stories are great. There are also some comedy scenes.
It's funny how Code-E reminded me of Read or Die straight from the Opening. The art style, the feeling... it's really hard to explain how they relate. Supernatural abilities; being controlling paper or emitting electricity from your body... that's the most logical part of what both shows have in common. If you're watching Code-E and like the 'feeling' of it, R.O.D. is a must for you! If you're watching R.O.D, you might have some interest in Code-E (but I must warn you, it's a step down from R.O.D!)
In both series, British Empire is restored to its full might and seeks for dominance over the whole world. Both series feature alternative history, supernatural abilities, school stories, drama, lots of action, loads of cliffhangers and the constant feeling of the impending "end of the world as we know it".
Both anime show the value of family despite not being related by blood. HTe characters are 'siblings' that care deeply for each other.
Though the main characters aren't the same but its still the ova.
Both anime's are similiar in where each character develope's a new power, only difference is in mai hime. They controll hime's and in ROD you can controll the power of the 5 elements of nature.
