Space☆Dandy

-Both feature bounty hunters -Both have a disfunctional space crew -Both had Shinichirō Watanabe as director of the series. 

Both of these have similar character designs and overall atmosphere to them. They both know not to take themselves too seriously and manage to both be extremely entertaining. Basically it's Redline without cars and in SPACE. 

They are both completely random, not requiring any concentration, with big explosions and over the top fights accompanied by an upbeat sound track. Space Dandy is a bit easier to understand but if you enjoyed one, you'll probably enjoy the other.  

Outrageous space opera. The male lead is a cocky and self assured type. 

An episodic storytelling format, beautiful flowing animation by Bones, quirky background music and wonderfully-written characters are what make these two shows come alive. Both are short, 12-episode journeys through the everyday lives of the characters as they live and work alongside otherworldly creatures. Though generally lighthearted, both Kekkai Sensen and Space Dandy have enough emotional mini-arcs to pull at your heart. 

Shocked ?! Well, maybe because both seems to show a middle finger to whole recent anime industry trends ,and instead they carve their own unspecified niche where total lack of sense is your everyday plot device. Nevertheless, somehow both make you crave for more. 

The main characters from each are very much alike; they are immature adults who can are ruled by their vices. They're both Sci-Fi shows and the aliens in both are typically humourous in appearance. The style of humour is relatively similar too, although whilst Space Dandy is more goofy (in a manner similar to Lupin), Gintama is more deadpan and revolving around anti-climaxes. The stories are sort of similar too. They both feature a nearly broke team lead by the protagonist who in Gintama, do odd jobs and Space Dandy, hunting for rare aliens. They both have hearts that will overcome their overwise prominent greed and are willing to go broke if it ensures smiles on faces. However both shows are more-or-less episodic thus the prior episode has little bearing on the next resulting in many short stories but this works well in both. Definitely check out the other if you like one, the similarities are great but they tread fairly different terroritory in their theme, as whilst Gintama also has Sci-fi elements, the Historic late 19th century Japan themes are usually more prevelant whilst Space Dandy thus far has been purely Sci-Fi. Both are about a wacky trio experiencing episodic adventures in space and share the same goofy, light hearted atmosphere. Even the way how the antagonists are presented is similar. While RobiHachi is heavily based on silly conversations with local inhabitants for its humor, Space Dandy has a greater variety of set ups thanks to an more action oriented approach. 

I feel that the way space is designed and the ridiculousness is similar. In a good way.  

Retro space hijinks and glorious alien babes in two of the most visually impressive TV anime of their generations. 

Both have a cunning, wacky, and perverted gunslinger as the MC. The MC is being hunted after by a powerful organization because of a secret he holds. Both anime are episodic but with a overarching plot. 

Watching these two series will feel like taking on an adventurous trip. In essence, they both chronicles the stories of a main male protagonist who is known for hunting various beings across their perspective worlds. The one thing they both have a weakness and love for is - women. Throughout their adventure, they meet other characters that influences their lives in various ways. Yet on many said occasions, there are moments when our adventurers find their lives in danger. Both series also takes place in a futuristic setting. 

in both of these titles the main characters travel to and explore creative and whacky worlds. while Abenobashi has underlying serious elements Space Dandy is purely comedic, though both are a lot of fun to watch. 

Both feature aliens and space travel to some degree. Level E is more focused around the Earth, though some of its story-lines involve space. Both are lighthearted and funny at times. 

protagonists travel the galaxy and visit many different planets. some episodes of space dandy feature very similar art styles to kaiba, along with similar stories. both are incredible 

Lupin VIII is Lupin III...in space. And space makes everything better. Both are '70s-tastic and feature a smooth operator in space. 

In terms of variety, tone, and irreverent comedy, Space Dandy feels kind of like an updated, much more polished version of Excel Saga. The most obvious difference is that Space Dandy has much nicer animation,and has some more serious episodes, but otherwise they are practically siblings. If you found one funny you will probably like the other, too. 

Lupin III: Part II was one of Adult Swim's first anime, and a great choice. In 2013, we see Space☆Dandy simulcast on AS. Space☆Dandy's main character is similar to Lupin in that they're both tall, lanky men with black hair. Both enjoy women at times and gentlemen in most others...and top their fields in seeking out rare treasures while the show goes on in an over-the-top way with a focus on gorgeous women and outrageous treasure/aliens. They're both extremely '70s-tastic and unapologetic about it. 

Tiramisu may as well be a parody of Space Dandy. The similarities are very obvious, watch an episode and see. 

Both anime are short episodic-ish series that involve a main character who is often dragged into wacky adventures. Both series can be enjoyed from a pure comedic standpoint or can be seen through a more intellectual lens. For Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, this takes form as a critique on human society and behavior whilst for Space Dandy, this is shown as life lessons that the characters go through on their adventures. I recommend enjoying a bit of both and letting the anime take you on an adventure without having to think too hard. Both of these anime are rather quirky and fall into the hit-or-miss category, but if you liked one, you should definitely check out the other! read more 

Of course Nichijou and Space Dandy aren't much alike, however. The way these anime handle their comedy struck me as awfully similar, There's a lot of randomness involved. Having two totally different settings it's hard to compare the two but I still find myself trying. Have you ever laughed at something but didn't know exactly what was going on, not grasping the situation? Do you like the element of surprise in comedy? Then you might want to give Space Dandy a shot! (Please do not be turned off by the fanservice, it's hilarious) 

Both combine action with comedy, jojo is more action than comedy and space dandy is more comedy than action. Bizarre at their own way. Colorful Space dandy's first season as diamond is unbreakable first episodes don't follow a main story, every episode is something different. Dandy resembles part 2 joseph joestar 

both are insane but at the same time, have a deeper meaning to them when you continue watching them. 

Just a bunch of nonsensical fun with a vibrant cast of different characters.  

A very well animated spectacle that overall doesn't have the deepest themes in it, but each episode provides a well flushes out story that can be viewed independently, much like Space Dandy. Has a small but likable cast of returning characters that fit the mood of the show. Packed with lots of emotional moments along with some fun ones. 

Both about adventure and the routine of pathetic "bounty hunters". Some fan service, but it never falls into vulgarity. If you like over the top characters doing ridiculously awesome stuffs all accompanied with quality animation, try both of this shows. 👌 

The protagonists are very similar because they are both the "lame" lady-killer types that are secretly really smart and at times really sensitive. Lupin and Dandy both do odd-jobs for a quick buck but Lupin is definitely more successful in his adventures. They're also kind of similar in the sense that they are total opposites - one takes place in a futuristic space setting and one takes place in a historical-looking modern Italy but both have an underlying mystery/adventure style. 

A sci-fi anime with both protagonist have similar behaviour 

Both are about grand adventures and battles in space.  

Both are very well animated and the comedy is the strong point in both of them, the action in space dandy is also good and in my opinion is even more funny. I feel that people that love one punch man can love space dandy.

Both of these shows have a wacky, dynamic and art. They are both similar in humour and style. I hope that if you liked one of these shows, you would also find enjoyment with the other. :)

Episodic tales in space, each instalment featuring new staff and a different directorial vision. Neither anime has much if any coherence i. e. an overarching plot (aside from the recurring crew of Space Dandy), but the draw here is seeing how much can be done in a limited runtime and in what is basically an inexhaustible setting. 

OST and especially the surreal psychedelic imagery are all very similar to Space Dandy. Both series use the "Show, don't tell" tactic and I think that's very unique. They'd rather immerse you into the story rather than explaining it, it leaves on the viewer's own devices to figure out what is truly happening.  

Nowhere near as funny as Space Dandy, but the visual style of balls-to-the-wall abstract animation and alien/spacey feel is really similar in both of these. If you like your anime super psychedelic and wacky, both of these are worth watching. 

Looking past the visual change in time and location, both these series share a nearly identical style of comedy thanks to the involvement of Shinichiro Wantanabe, the man behind both of these titles. Both series follow a mismatched trio through a wildly varying world as they dip their feet into the stories of the people they pass. Both series have small plots taking place over 1/2 episodes, but Champloo manages to deliver something of an overarching plot to go with this. Many people want to recommend Wantanabe's most famous work, fellow space anime Cowboy Bebop. However, you'll soon notice that Champloo actually has much more similar tones to Dandy, despite the location change! read more 

Both series have a lead characters who go's through struggles, but later on gathers friends that help support them. Both series are episodic that tells hilarious adventures and crazy situations the main characters get in. Both have amazing animation and funny character designs.  

Both series are episodic with a reoccurring cast that helps new characters in each episode. These secondary characters are given their own stories and importance that shape the main characters into the people they genuinely are. Jigoku Shoujo however, is a modern Japan supernatural/psychological anime while Space Dandy is a futuristic space scifi. Both series however are executed to create and solve mysteries episodically. While Space Dandy has much more comedy than Jigoku Shoujo, when the series does take a serious turn the atmosphere can feel very similar.  

Taking on a journey. Gun x Sword and Space Dandy essentially follows a young man on a quest of discovery and purpose. Throughout their journey, encounters with both allies and foe earn them experiences they will never forget. There's a similar feeling with their setup that adapts an adventurous tone combined with sci-fi elements. Gun x Sword takes on a more serious notion while Space Dandy has a more relaxed method of executing its presentation. Yet, their journey takes the main characters to places beyond their imaginations. 

When looking at their genres alone, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and Space Dandy couldn't be more different. However, if you like anime without a solid plot and with gut-busting comedy, you'll enjoy both of these titles! 

Recommending Space Dandy season 1 and 2. Both series offer episodic stories ranging from comedic to tragic, fun and/or heartwarming, zany or surreal, or a mishmash of all or two of the above.  

Both series are comedies, with a main character who's a bit of a bum but is forced to fight against (and aside) all kinds of crazy sci-fi creatures and aliens. Space Dandy tells much deeper and more memorable stories while Tentai Tenshi Sunred is gag and one shot comedy shorts, but both series have some memorable and funny creatures.  

If you mix Space Adventure Cobra and Cowboy Bebop together, you get Space Dandy. It has a space setting similar to the one in Cobra and a goof who loves well-endowed women. 

One is a bounty hunter, the other is a federal agent, but they both hunt alien. Action packed series with old school vibes, strong SF pulp influences, groovy soundtrack and really stylish animation. 

Both are high energy, sci-fi/comedies, with bizarre characters and excellent animation.  

If you want to see off the cuff and non-sequential humor, Space Dandy seemed to have taken a cue from the so-far-off-the-wall series. 

Poputepipikku is a bit more disjointed than Space Dandy, but they're both totally off the wall and poke fun at numerous anime tropes. There's little to no continuity in either, and each is full of cartoon antics--exactly what animation was meant for! 

Both have the same sexual innuendo element and both looks like that they are good at first but become chaotic later on. 

They are both episodical anime with story around a main character that has to travell because of his job. They both excel in both visual and story part and each episode brings something new and original. While Mushishi is fantasy and Space Dandy is sci-fi, if you liked one, you´ll surely like another. 

If you like the futuristic space aspect of Carole & Tuesday, consider watching Space Dandy! Both have really great animation and music, and cute robots. they were also both directed by Shinichiro Watanabe! the plots are wildly different however, although carole & tuesday has one filler-esque episode that feels similar to space dandy. 

-Both were animated by Studio BONES and utilize animation techniques not often seen in anime. -Dandy, the main character of Space Dandy, is similar to Reigen in the sense that they are both deadbeat adults that are always looking for ways to make easy money but are still very charming and likeable because of how humorous and sometimes absurd their antics are. -Despite their humorous nature however, both shows can be quite emotional at times, when they focus on human relationships and the loss of one's loved ones. -Some key differences are the settings (Space Dandy is in space, while Mob Psycho in a small town) and the relevance of the deadbeat adult, in Mob Psycho he's just a secondary (but still relevant) chararacter, while in Space Dandy he's the protagonist. read more 

These two series both have fourth-wall breaking, shout-outs abundant, a lemony narrator, and a goofball protagonist. Space☆Dandy could be summed up as "Hayate in Space." 

The main casts are always on some insanely hilarious journey where they'll probably forget what they set out to do by the end of the episode. Both have primarily stand alone episodes chock full of random comedy, so you don't have to remember what the heck was going on last time if you haven't watched in a while. Every major character has a running gag. There are pop culture references galore! Both introduce silly but memorable one-episode characters that interact with the main stars. Each features a cosmic cast that will likely never accomplish what they set out to do, whether it be taking over Pekopon or registering new aliens. You'll find Keroro obsessing about Gundam as much as Dandy with Boobies. Overall, the shows don't take themselves seriously so you shouldn't either. read more 

Two very stylized anime that try to radiate cool. Dandy (an alien hunter) and Johnny Bolt (a super crook) have three desires in life - making money, sexy women, and looking cool. With the help of their crews, Dandy and Johnny will try to hit it big. Note that Space Dandy is a very episodic series while Super Crooks has a linear plot.  

Both shows have similar style of animation and character design. Both shows use comedy and drama. Although Space Dandy is more comedic, where Lupin the Third is more dramatic. Both shows have present strong element of criminal underworld, but Lupin from perspective of criminal and Space Dandy of detective/bounty hunter. Space Dandy is set in futuristic world, and Lupin in past era likely 60´s or 70´s. 

“Space☆Dandy” and “Seihou Tenshi Angel Links” are science fiction action series surrounding an odd crew operating a space ship that adventures to random places in the galaxy. On these adventures, the cast of characters get into shenanigans that lead them into awkward situations and, of course, trouble. The lead character from both shows are headstrong and often makes sudden decisions on important matters without giving much thought. Furthermore, these two anime dance around the subject of romance regarding the main characters but it is never the direct focus of the show.  

These two are different from each other but both look very essence conparten some similarities such as that in a single chapter llegarte achieved in the depths of your soul and like the characters and ecenarios using them in short time periods are used but in spite all you manage to completely fall in love with them.
