Air and sola have similar moods. Reincarnation appears to factor into both shows as well.
this show is very similar to air, first in the plot line, that when you go on you find out the rest. and secondly you may like it like i did' this is great stuff :)
I'm not going to spoil either one. If you liked Air, you'll probably like Sola. The end.
Fantasy and Romance with bits of Comedy thrown in
Sola = sky
Air = air
...need i say more??
Air is so similar to sola it's not funny. I can even compare them and say this character has the same personality as that character between the shows. Both are also about the sky in some way. In sola it's about being able to stand under the sky, and in Air it's about being in the sky. Both shows are very similar, and I highly recommend if you've seen Air you should see sola and if you've seen sola you should see Air.
As those before me said, these two animes are very similar. Both revolve around the sky and everything about it, both are filled with heart-breaking moments sprinkled with a bit of comedy here and there and both are truly drama masterpieces.
I dunno, theres just something about Sola that reminds me of Air :S. Anyways, if you liked one, you'd probably like the other, if not at least a bit.
Sola and Air are both tragic love stories riddled in mystery and supernatural abilities. A very short watch so if you prefer more drawn out anime then perhaps this is not going to be your cup of tea. If you enjoyed the way the writers choose to progress the story on an emotional level in one series then you're going to love it in the other. Similarly, if you hated how the director relied on mystery to keep the shallow love story alive in one anime you'll probably hate it in the other.
Both have a "past" story arc and deal with the sky.
They're both very sky obessesed lol, in a gd way
Its a bit different, but if u liked Air den you will totally like Sola.
Both Sola and Air are supernatural anime that involve a story from the past that connects to what's going on in the present. Air and Sola both are romance anime that have sad endings, so if that's your type of thing you'll enjoy both of them.
They're both very sad, and yet beautiful at the same time. They also both have a girl main character that enjoys looking at the sky who is not human. They both revolve around the sky a lot.
similar art style, both have sad endings and and some supernatural parts.
The plot of these two animes show a lot of parallels and the tone is similiar, too. Well, you will see what I mean when you watched both.
Many many similarities, exactly the same genre, I sincerely recommend this .First of all both have a very deep and symbolic connection with the sky. Then both of them have the same type of female leads, sweet, innocent and lovable.
Furthermore these two animes have an arc about the past(like a flashback). Finally a very big part of the plot consists of mythological elements that you should get used to( these elements seem to be part of a much greater mythology that the writers keep hidden from us).
They both just have the same atmosphere. They both deal with the sky and although Air seems to have a bit more romance, they both have that ending that just keeps you thinking...

Both of them are dramatic and exciting
Both are pretty good anime drawn around one boy and both have their fair share of action and drama. Sola has a little more action and kanon has a little more drama. Both like talking about hopes and dreams though.
I watched Kanon 2006 and it was great. After starting Sola I realized that the anime was quite similar and just as good. If you liked Sola you love Kanon. And the same is true if you started with Kanon. ^^
Sola reminded me a lot of Makoto, Mai, and the theme of running or chasing their pasts.
Both of the shows have a romantic/mysterious feel to them.
Written by the same person (Naoki Hisaya), both shows are intense and often painful romance/drama stories with a hint of moe tossed into the mix.
nice art and supernatural things in both.nice characters and both ahve drama and romance.
Both have a good amount of romance and drama, with a little bit of fantasy. Kanon definately has more comedy, but both series get more serious towards the ending.

i only started watching sola, but the 1st thing that came to my mind was ef... they feel so similair, esp how miyako (ef) is similar to Matsuri (sola)
Similar relationships between characters. Both series are dramatic.
The plot and characters are all fairly similar. Some of the genres are also the same, making ef ~ a tale of memories very likable, especially if you've seen sola.
Both have a very similar feel to it.
The story is kind of like 1/2 of "ef". Ignore Chihiro and Renji's story.

both have the slice-of-life drama with slight comedy moments and a touch of darkness and mystery. sola also has action and magic too.
same kind of story. guy goes through events where he discovers something about himself, and decides what to do next.Watch it and you'll know what i meen.
They're both really mysterious and are about a weird girl meeting a special boy.
Both anime involves magical elements (sola is heavier) and romance. Both anime's have easy to love characters and smooth animation. If you liked sola, then you must absolutely try H2O!

I had strong "deja vu" feeling while watching one anime after another.
Both Elfen Lied and sola have similar plot development.
One boy, student, who lives without parents (Kouta/Yorito), have the girl who helps him at home (Yuka/Mana). One time he finds strange girl in the seaside (Lucy/Matsuri) and take her to live at his home. After that lots of harem scenes beetween girls and boy living in one house take place. But following the main storyline the boy's life changes as the girl have enemies looking for her because of her abnormal abilities (Diclonius/Yaka) and he tries to defend her till the end.
In the end reveals out that boy is tightly connected with this abnormal girl in the past. That's all.
If you liked one of this watched animes, I'd recommend you to watch another in order to compare and determine which of them have more advantages using comletely same storyline according to your likes.
Both animes are very action packed.Furthermore they have plenty of mystery and one male lead surrounded by many girls. Finally there are many supernatural elements that you should get used to them to watch the anime.
I watched Elfen Lied first, and I recognized a lot of similarities when watching sola right off the bat. In both series, there's a harem situation with girls that are a special creature, as well as a mysterious background to link them together.
Really similar setup, similar conflicts. The two shows end up playing out a lot differently though. If you liked one you'll like the other(Though Elfen Lied is more violent).

This series are similar like SOLA, main character is a girl with superpower and SHANA are too.
Ordinary male lead + supernatural girl. Romance + fantasy.

It has the same feel. It's made by the same creator, Lantis. And it goes by certain themes. Sola is based on the sky, while True Tears is based on...you guessed it...
Both animes have romantic and boy surrounded by girls. Also both have some drama and little humour too. Characters aren't that alike, but the feeling which you get from them, is quite similar.

Both offer a twist on the vampire genera.
|
|
|
sola is more slice-of-life drama, whilst night wizard is more action/magic orientated, however both have similar feels to it, and both have lots of action/magic scenes with good character and storyline developments. both a good watch.

While the story lines are rather different, there is an air of mystery about them, an unsolved part of the whole matter that while one can try guessing about the ending outcome, unless one has seen them before, done research, or pays close attention, one might not get the jest of what is going on with everything until the very end. The endings are for the most part, unexpected, or with such a twist that it is like wow...

animes have a similar feel to them, both have supernatural parts, but w~wish is older and the art isnt as good.
|
|
|
A particularity of both anime is the inaccessibility to the outdoor. Scenes take place often in hospital, and Matsuri reminds me of Rika because of their long hair.

The result of Sola Project is a team up between Da Capo and Canvas 2, since I watched them both I recommend them

Sola reminded me of Haibane Renmei a lot in terms of artwork and the direction. The settin is also somewhat similar with all the protagonists being half-immortal. The main difference I can see is that Sola has a darker tone than Haibane Renmei.

Because its the TV series of Sola!
|
|
|
myself is more drama and slice of life, whilst sola has more action and a bit of magic, but both start off with a hint of comedy but turn out to be dark and mind-blowing.

Matsuri and Horo share the same playful yet mysterious attitude. The plots both involve a relationship between a supernatural being and a human. Sola's Nakahara Mai (Aono) also appears as a supporting character in Spice and Wolf.

Sola is a little more serious than Gift and it isn't about magic but the romance part is pretty similar. It's sort of a love triangle but the guy picks one girl pretty early on and the other girl tries to steal him
