comedy parody school slice of life
Recommendations Submitted by Users
Same plotless comedy with awesome characters and original jokes.
Both series are about the everyday happenings a group of high school girls. They both follow their daily lives with anime humour thrown in.
Slice of life w/ high school girls in comedy situations. Alot of moe situations...
...and both have my favorite Cafeteria lunch time skits ^_^.
Another slice of life anime
Kind of obvious, really-- both are based on 4komas, deal with the daily life of a group of girls, COMEDY, et cetera.
Both are similar in that the main characters are all female, and similar personalities.
Both are slice of life comedies featuring a group of a high school girls and their random adventures throughout high school life.
Its both about the daily life from Schoolgirls whithout a big Storyline.
It's based on gags about School, games and Japanese Daily life.
Pretty similiar humour and feeling
Both series have similar plot lines and characters. Both are also "anything goes" when it comes to topics and are pretty episodic.
They both revolve around school, hanging out, eating and having fun.
Both is about absolutely nothing and really cute. I like Lucky Star better though, I think it's way funnier.
Similar comedy style, its offbeat and centers around the lives of a group of high school girls.
Lucky Star's comedy is mostly being carried by Hirano Aya, and the rest of the gang play off her character. For Azumanga Daioh, everyone on the team works together with the others, so they function like a group, each is funny in her own way and they play off among on another. Lucky Star is basically talking about high school nothing, ala the Seinfeld Style. For Azumanga Daioh, there are very small arcs for the purpose of driving forward humor. Both 4koma-turned-anime shows about school with Azumanga Daioh being a little more slapstick and less Otaku humor driven.
Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star are comedies that rely on slice of life moments without a definite plot. Both follow a group of Highschool girls and the humour is derived from the interaction between the members of the cast, most of which display a zany behaviour. Azumanga Daioh's appeal might be wider while Lucky Star includes some otaku jokes that might be lost to many but both titles are likely to interest the same kind of public.
Both are school comedies and don't have a real story line. Lucky Star is the otaku version.
Both are utterly plotless relying solely on the personalities of each of the characters for the comedy. Lucky star is, in effect, Azumanga daioh in a brand new skin.
Both animes are about a group of normal (or not so normal) girls just trying to make their way through high school. These series have lots of running gags and clever one-liners that you'll come to remember them for. While Lucky Star is more for the otakus since it contains lots of references to other anime and Japanese culture, both contain characters you will fall in love with and will make you look at school and life in general in a humorous type of way.
Slapstick, crazy, weird comedy. Many references to Japanese culture, high school girls, etc.
If you like slice of life anime like Azumanga Daioh but want a more wacky show watch Lucky Star.
Well, they have a similar feel to it and they're both slice of life and comedy anime. The difference though is that Lucky Star has references to several anime and to the Japanese culture. But other than that, both shows are pretty similar in following the lives of a group of high school girls.
Both are about the everyday lives of several high school girls as they graduate... Both series also offers a dynamic cast of characters!
Two titles that have completly crazy main characters with mixed unenviable history about hm... just life ...school life XD
they both pretty much gotta do with like school in some way or another and their both really cute anime ^^
Funny story about everyday schoolgirls ^^
Both these shows revolve around a group of high school girls, their experience of high school and their personal lives. But in contrast to Lucky Star's brightly colored animations azumanga's animation is more dull to put focus on the fact that it wants you to pay more attention to the jokes and the physical comedy.
Puns, Puns, and more puns. A fun way to learn about Japanese pop culture.
Both are completely random comedies set in high school, and neither of them really have all that much of a plot. The main difference is really just that Lucky Star uses a lot of references to other shows in almost every single episode, so Azumanga might be a lot easier to "get" for people who haven't seen that many anime-series before.
Very similar slice of life animes.
Pretty much what everyone else said.
Both are Slice of life following some schoolgirls using puns and gags all over the place. Both are very enjoyable.
Both have a fairly small cast of interesting characters taking part in very everyday events, and both are extremely satisfying.
Cracky comedy, extreme weird high school girl characters and a random slice of life story, these are mainly the things that these anime have in common. Quite a lot, ne?
Both have a awesome set of girls as the main leads. They follow the "Slice of life" genere with their fancy twists and turns. Major comedy in them as well. If you are a all around fan of anime, these series have lots of puns and whatnot. You can't go wrong with this.
They're both slice-of-life and about a group people who are going through high school.
It´s the same type of light humor. The series shows the life of a group of female high school friends and individual moments of them which are very funny. Also their teacher is a women maybe in her late 20's who lives alone, is aloof , single, and crazy.
Similar school environment with no real story line besides high school progression.
They both star high school girl and talks about their everyday lives and you get to learn more abotu Japanese culture!
Azumanga Daioh is basically just like Lucky Star without all the anime and game references, well, at least not as many. Azumanga is far better than Lucky Star is, though, on many leves.
Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are both lovable for the same reason: the beauty of nothing really happening. Both simply follow the lives of a small group of lovable characters in their daily lives, with tons of comedic material thrown in. Nothing super natural, no magic or space fights, nobody jumping into the air 50 feet at exactly the same time and hight as a long time rival only to kick each other's legs several times and fall...
Both are slice of lifes that circle around high school girls .
In both these anime they have a school girl life with tons of friends and laughters, so if you like one of there. You should watch the other!=3
Silly school girl comedies. Enough said.
Same genres, very similar shows, yet lucky star has a more subtle pace..
It is like - looking through a reflection of itself. LUCKY STAR IS AZUMANGA DAIOH!!! Only focused on one year of H.S., not 3...
Both deal with high school girls and a plotless storyline
It is also based on high school life. The charaters are almost the same way, but Lucky Star has Konata. She is an anime lover, a gamer, and the best cramer you'll ever meet! Kagami is kinda like Yomi. Always telling Konata to do her homework. And seems to always make her point. Tsukasa is like Osaka! Only Osaka is funnier, and Tsukasa is Stupider. Then brains with the biggest breats, Myuki! Overall i have to say Lucky Star is one of the funniest animes out there. Hope you watch and enjoy!
School, comedy and much fun! If you rly liked Azumanga, u'll be more than pleased with Lucky Star ;)
Stories about cute girls doing cute things in cute ways
If you liked the everyday life of a bunch of pretty cute high school girls, sometimes facing really odd and funny scenes, then you must see Lucky Star.
Both animes have certain quirkyness to them there both random and cute. They make you smile and laugh sometimes non stop.Well for me that is.
same Style of characters, plot, music, weirdness(^^).. surprisingly similar and great :3
It is just more slice-of-life really. But still, don't take this as more of the same. Azumanga Daioh has more of your "everyday people", leaving out otakus and a lot of cultural and anime references. It is also the closest you'll get to the "real-life" of japanese high-scholers.
They are both about a group of high school girls going through comedic scenario's. They both have small comedic acts with the teachers, too.
Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are both slice of life comedies that take place mainly in school. They're both pretty random, and they each have extremely catchy openings.
Both are insanibly cute , with humour and are sunny and are about everyday life of school girls
both are masterpieces and a must see
Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are no different from each other. Both deal with a group of girls and random encounters in daily life. Unlike Lucky Star, Azumanga had a few funny scenes.
Another all out high school comedy, and basically, about nothing, like Seinfeld.
The characters in both series are very memorable. The environment in both series is pretty similar, without a flashy "I gotta save the world" storyline, but focusing on what friendship in high school is like, and little details that we experience everyday. If you are already out of high school, it is a plus!
Both of them are comedy, school and slice of life anime with absolutely no plot. Although I think Lucky Star is better
both feature very little plot, both focus on a group of high school girls, both REALLY random, and both VERY FUNNY.
Both of these are very hilarious comedies that revolve around typical groups of friends and the things they do in and out of school.
They are both school comedies, and both are very enjoyable.
Well if you don't count the fact that both are about the daily lives of regular (but very eccentric) High School Japanese friends and the wacky adventures they apparently follow out of nothing to start with I don't really find much >.>
Both series talk about high school girls going about on their daily lives.
both are slice of life comedies, both are really funny and both have really cute and well developed characters and stories
It's funny and very random!
Just the day in the life of a school girl, no involvement of the male sex, so there is no room for silly romances but a lot of comedy. It brings about several characteristics that one may find to be similar in both series. The intelligent, the brave, the quiet or cool...etc. Both are hilarious and down right cute sometimes. If you like one, you'll definitely like the other.
they are both very random anime's, only lucky star is more for otaku's :)
Cute characters. School girls. Slice of life.
ok...lets try this again. if you love lucky star, you will love azumanga daioh. they are both delightfully spontanious, about high school girls, and are a slice of life anime. i personaly love them both, and i even can match the characters to each other.
In a simple sense, both deals with highschool life, simplicity, and randomness. Only that Lucky star is livelier than Azumanga Daioh.
Both are slice of life genre, No real plot as expected but more of a collage of just random events and awesome moments which a bunch of girls get up to. School style setting, both are really similar but different at the same time in terms of humour. If you enjoy Azumanga Daioh i expect that you'll enjoy Lucky Star.
Both are slice-of-life comedies set around the lives of a group of highschool girls. Both are episodic, and both are nonsensical at times.
If you just want to relax and chill out with some light jokes this is the anime for you! Both were originally 4 panel manga, therefore they are very similar in how the story progresses throughout the anime.
Azumanga Daioh like Lucky Star originated from 4-panel manga. Like Lucky Star Azumanga Daioh focuses around a school life genre, but is a more comical and has a larger character selection.
Both not really storyline based, just day to day activities of a group of girls, and the funny moments.
Both I find very relaxing to watch as well as hilarious.
they talk about so many random things!!! if your into Azumanga Daioh..then you really got to watch Lucky Star!!
Both are comedys focusing on the everyday lives of a group of normal school girls. Both have no real plot and are just simple, funny and real fun to watch.
A group of high-school girls and segments of their everyday lives. Features rapid-fire comedic sketches and doesn't have much plot, other than the graduation ceremony that both have.
It's very random. There's no specific plot.
Comedy, Daily Life, High School, School Life, Seinen,
Both are stories of girls in school, in which each of the characters has a unique personality and fun.
Funny situations in the classroom, school trips and trips with friends, are what characterize these girls. In addition to teachers a little "different" (not to say bizarre), but very funny.
The cuteness and randomness make these two animes similar in style.
funny school animes
Very funny and laid back high-school anime. Lots of laughs guaranteed.
- Somehow same feeling with both anime (Girls, Comedy, plotless, etc..)
- Friendship between girls (In Azumanga 6 main girls and in Lucky 4 main girls)
- Teachers also something to do with girls (In Lucky teacher play MMO with one of girl, In Azumanga mainly keep helping girls)
- Both medium long (Azumanga 26 episodes, Lucky 24 episodes)
They are clearly in the same league when it comes to characters, cuteness and humor.
Both are slice of life comedies about the lives of high school girls.
A classic Anime, in the genre of slice of life. This anime has spawned tons of memes.
If you have not seen this, it is definitely worth a look.
Both are Slice of Life. They are about the lives of girls in high school, each with their own peculiarities.
Again, centers on the daily life of school girls with some comedy elements. Lucky Star is somehow more down to earth with less weird and irrational twists. Even so, the warm, relaxed and cozy atmosphere that the watcher gets while watching the two animes are quite similar
both are funny and is an easy-going anime
They're practically the same. No real plot, but just some ordinay high school girls wanting to have some fun.
This is even closer to Azumanga Daioh than Nichijou was. Lucky Star has the same concept, girls, hanging out, asking the others abot how they do things and blablabla.
Both are about girls attending high school. Neither have much of a huge plot. Just high school girls doing their thing. They both share their cute and funny moments and have silly, quirky characters.
Everyone and their mother has made this recommendation and obviously mine isn't going to have any impact, but hey. Basically, watch Lucky Star if you want a bunch of cheap references to (otaku) culture a la Seinfeld or Family Guy, and watch Azumanga Daioh if you want, you know, actual humor.
Similar humor, 2nd plan doesn't exist, strange draw style.
Both series have topics about little things.
They're both funny, Slice of Life type anime that focus on girls in high school doing what you'd expect. Personally I think Lucky Star is a little harder to get it to due to it's starting point, and it doesn't have as much charm as Azumanga, but this isn't too much of a bother seeing as everything done right is done really well. Lucky Star's main character is an Otaku, which adds whole new comedy to the table as well as adding in reference to hard core anime fans. If you like Azumanga Daioh, i'm pretty sure you'll like this, so why not give it a shot =)
Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are very similar as they both focus on school, trips, and character personality. They both are so similar.
Life of high school girls hanging out and making the best of their years before college. You will totally be like, "I know, right?" :3
Both are mostly plotless funny slice of life animes about high school girls.
Both of these anime are of the "slice-of-life" style. They follow a group of girls and their daily life through school. I would recommend both of these to people who like a laid back anime that has good humor.
carefree girls with slice of life/school life.
Both made by KyoAni, both deal w/ 4 girls, both are moe shows
Both made by Kyoto Animation, graphic styles are similiar
both tells a story about four girls, both are school comedies
This is very similar because both animes have four main charaters and slowly start to gain more charaters toward the end. They both express chibi scenes to make childish comedy which i could help but laugh at. The only differnce is that K-on is based around learning music and Lucky star tries to referance anything they can while at school.
Lucky Star and K-ON focused more on the drama/slice of life and comedy.
So, if you found Lucky star worth watching, then so is K-ON.
There are also character that act for the "moe", the serious one, etc.
Both of these Animes share a good amount of comedy as well as being slice-of-life shows.
Not only that but all four of the main girls from each series have a similar personality. Like...
-Konata=Ritsu, both of them seem to have a hyperactive attitude and act not as normal as others. -Kagami=Mio, both share a good study habits and are really smart. Plus they can act really strict .
-Tsukasa=Yui, both of them don't really like to study that much and they really like to eat sweets.
-Miyuki=Tsumugi, they both come form wealthy families and they also have a sweet personality.
Both animes follow four average girls on their "journey" through high school. both sets of girls look rather young for high schoolers, but face similar struggles as those that real high schoolers face. Also, while K-ON! has more to do with music, both have great songs! These comedies are both so great and if u like one of them you'll definitely like the other!!! hope this helps!!!
Both shows are from the same company, and feature four girls in a slice of life
They're both a slice of life anime with 4 cute girls and are made by Kyoto Animation.
Just replace "about weeaboos" with "about people who are shitty at music but think they're good" and you basically have the exact same anime
It's humorous, sweet and beautiful look, as Lucky Star.
Randomness all over the place xD Lucky Star is better though.
Made by the same studio, both have very similar type of humor, both are about a group of girls in high school and both are moe
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the charcters from lucky star all of a sudden created a rock band? well here you go. you can even see the characteristics of each of the characters being almost he same. The seiyu are different and not as well know but they are all rising starts in the anime business.
K-ON and Lucky Star are very similar in many ways.
Firstly: the characters are similar. Examples: Mugi and Miyuki are similar because both are rich; Konata and Ritsu are similar because both are crazy; Kagami and Mio are somewhat similar because they try to control the crazy ones; Yui and Tsukasa are similar because they both forget things, sometimes important things.
Secondly: In both anime, The story is revolved around 4 girls. In Lucky Star: Konata, Miyuki, Tsukasa, and Kagami. In K-ON: Mio, Mugi, Yui, and Ritsu. There are also teachers involved and other girls.
Thirdly: In both anime, the theme is comedy and school, however K-ON is music and Lucky Star is slice of life.
That concludes my recommendation.
K-ON and Lucky Star are both slice of life moe comedies that mainly take place in school. The characters are extremely similar, for example:
Moe and funny what more do you need in any show. Both shows are lighthearted and fun to watch.
The story centers around four high-school girls who go about their daily lives, with various themes at the center. K-ON! is very similar to Lucky Star, but replace the 2ch references and otaku culture with music.
Lucky Star and K-ON! Has Similar characters, not by looks but by attitudes as well. It doesn't have the same storylines. But if you watch Lucky Star or the latter, you will feel the same atmosphere in both animes. They are produced by Kyoto Animation as well, giving you the same amount of humor, Lucky Star brought us.
They have a simple plot and they are really random. They focus on high school girls and their teachers; even the lead characters are similar.
(Kagami - Mio
Konata - Ritsu
Tsukasa - Yui
Miyuki - Tsumugi)
K-ON is pretty much Lucky Star with musical instruments. Both are made by the same company. If you liked Lucky star you will like K-ON also. (Judging by the 1st 3 episodes only)
K-ON! and Lucky Star are both easy-going, slice-of-life anime that have practically matching character personalities. K-ON has a hint of a story-line, but ends up with the pointless and random almost every episode, just like Lucky Star. If you loved one, there is no way you'll not love the other.
both animes are about skool girls
and they are both really funni
K-on is simply LS ripped off. Devoid of all its simple charm and pros. If you have to eat sweets at least choose these that won't make your stomach ache.
Same studio, similar narration and humor.
There are four main female characters (until Azu-nyan came on later in the series of K-On!) and very few male side characters for both anime. Some of them have similar traits too: Yuki-chan (Lucky Star) is prim and proper like Mugi-chan and Yui is somewhat an airhead like Tsukasa. The girls in both anime are energetic, happy, cute and random. Both anime are in the comedy genre.
They're both fairly random anime about a group of four high-school girls going about they're everyday life and having fun together. :)
both are EXTREMELY hilarious!!! just girls hanging out, talkin about stuff and doing things that makes you laugh!! the characters are very similar...
the teachers who hangs around with them have the same personality as well, the 4 main characters treats them as if they're the same age....
Sawako- Nanako (they're also teachers who doesn't have any boyfriend so they have nothing else to do xD)
If you liked Lucky Star, you'll definitely love K-On!
The characters are all loveable, and its comedic aspects and slice of life genre will definitely appeal to all viewers :)
Just as random. Lots of moe and slice of life. They're both animated by KyoAni, and they're both so freaking funny!
K-on! is just like Lucky Star in so many ways. Even though the plots are different, the main characters have a lot of the same personalities and traits and it centers around their school life. It is also just as funny as Lucky Star =P.
Lucky Star and K-ON! are just the same. They are comedy series about a group of girls having fun and enjoying their lives. Both are slice of lives, and very enjoyable. Also, the characters are kinda the same. So, if you liked one of these two, just watch the other one, and you'll know what I mean.
They are pretty similar in how they both function, I can't say "If you like Lucky Star you will definitely like K-ON" but I can say you should give K-ON a try.
Both have the school girls and the funny moments without any real drama and tons of humour about their everyday lives.
Similar characters, similar animation.
They are both moe slice of life anime about school girls.
Both are totally random animes basically about what happens in the group of friends daily lives. They are light and fluffy. K-ON! revolves mostly on music while Lucky ☆ Star is really random, without a main topic.
-Group of school girls going through high school.
-Group of friends.
-Lot's of cuteness.
-Similiraty in the cute scenes.
Note: K-On! is also about a music band.
No real storyline, just happy carefreeness
High school, friendship, randomness, you'll love this anime serie.
In the both shows there are 4 moe girls with similar personalities.
Slice of Life comedy, heaps of laughs and great fun to watch
Slice of Life comedy and stuff.
this is moe too. but k-on! is better but this is ok too
Both of these Animes are slice of life with comedy!
They both don't have a strong and solid plot, which means there's a lot of scenes that are fillers but are actually very funny. I thought I'd never find another anime like Lucky Star but then I found K-ON :) They're both wonderful
School girls enjoying life, however I feel that K-On had a little bit more structure as opposed to Lucky☆Star. Nonetheless, I think if you enjoyed one you'll probably enjoy the other.
Characters are incredibly similar:
Yui, Tsukasa, they have cute, and silly tendencies.
Mio, Kagami, they are both the ones that more or less keep things in order, but both have lapses in that attitude from time to time.
Tsumugi, Miyuki, they are rich girls, kinda ditsy and super cute in the same ways.
Ritsu, Konata, they are both hyper-active and often come up with crazy ideas.
Main characters are girls and the series revolves around them getting through highschool.
Daily lives of a group of girls and great art too.
Both series are relaxing slice of life shows which feature good friends going through high school and enjoying themselves (with loads of cuteness and fantastic humor).
Both have strong and funny female characters who you get attached to as the series progresses. When both animes end, you feel as if you've graduated with all of them. Boh animes keep you laughing until the credits, and many of the characters are extremely similar.
Both have cute group of friends who live a daily normal life at school. Genre is slice of life for both and there isn't a concrete story but just their talks of a daily japanese school student who wear cute uniforms and like to discuss about cakes and sweets! Both are really kawaii!
Both have a quirky sense of humor and don't have much of a plot or continuous conflict that builds through out the story. Both share the Slice of Life genre and usually take place in a school environment.
Moe, moe and more moe!!
Both are slice of life/comedy shows which have a four girl main cast.
If you like watching girls doing cute things and having a laugh then either is worth a watch.
They have similar casts and the quirky humor is still there. Both are also slice-of-life (like) anime.
the voice actor of haruhi is the same for konata...the best char in this anime :D
It was made by KyoAni, also.. and there are lots of references to Haruhi in there!
(And there's dancing. >3)
You've got to watch Haruhi before you watch Lucky star. There's just too many references in Lucky star you wouldnt get if you hadnt watched Haruhi. Plus theres Seiyuu and same animation company Kyoani.
There's a lot of Haruhi refences in this anime, Konata (the main role) is an otaku, and is also a fan of the Suzumiya Haruhi anime.
Also, she dresses like her in one episode, and share some of the voice actors.
Both anime are funny.
Both animes are funny and the main characters have the same voice actress.
There are many references to MoHS in Lucky Star, and they even have a few similar voice actors.
Same voice actors, funny, and KyoAni made it.
It is pretty much a prerequisite if you want to get a lot of enjoyment out of the series. Otherwise, these jokes will be lost. Watching other KyoAni titles would help, but not really necessary.
It makes alot of fun out of the melancholy, so if you haven't watched it you might find Lucky Star a bit stale (if that's even possible)
Same voice actor (Aya Hirano) for main characters of both Suzumiya Haruhi and Lucky ☆ Star (Haruhi-chan and Kona-chan, respectively), same studio, similar characters and humor.
Just like another of my recommendations. These 2 differs.. But the concept might be the same, It's what you can call slice of life. And both are very random. The two anime's is also linked in a way. So if you ever feel like watching Lucky Star, I highly recommend that you watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya first. Since some Haruhi moments will appear in Lucky Star. Same goes for the voice actors/actresses.
Excluding the fact it's made from the same company, Kyoto Animation, in almost every episode there's a Suzumiya Haruhi parody as well as parodies from other anime. Most of the seiyuus from Haruhi are also in Lucky Star as well. Don't judge it by the 1st episode, it gets better!!!
OMG!! HIRANO AYA!!! <3 <3
they are both ironic in a way, and the dance for the opening (or ending?), is kind of similar, how they're both dancing with pom poms and cheerleading outfits (come to think of it, their outfits are similar also, just a different color) and how theres like 5 or so people dancing.
These are both a 'slice of life' anime. The main characters are a bit on the odd side, but still lovable. Both animes have a strange sense of humor. These are so similar that fans have made up the names "Konaharu" and "Izumasuzimiya". In Lucky Star, many references of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are made.
I don't need words to say that these two animes are very similar.
Both shows are pretty random but are so funny. Also Lucky Star plays of TMOHS because one of the main characters, Konata, loves Haruhi and cosplays as her in a cosplay cafe.
Haruhi Suzumiya is often parodied in Lucky Star, they are both from the same studio and both have weird humour. You'll definitely like the other, if you like one of them.
Both animes are produced by KyoAni. Lucky Star has a lot of Haruhi references in it, so some of those might make sense if you watch Haruhi. Also, the main main character (Konata for Lucky Star and Haruhi for Haruhi) are both voiced by the same person. They both take place at school, too.
This anime is AMAZING! It has something for everybody in it! I can't describe it very well; all I have to say is: WATCH IT!
Both are school life and comedy animes and both have cosplaying characters and there is a good amount of Haruhi reference in Lucky Star
hmmm well lets see lucky star takes some scenes from the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya and its so funny its a must see if you like it and also stupidity makes it more enjoyable and puts a smile on your face ^^
Both have the same voice acter for the main roles, both take place in school, both star teenage girls. Same genre. Need I say more?
the randomness and the many haruhi references make it a must see lol
Lucky Star has alot of humor relating to Haruhi, and draws alot of its jokes from it.
Created by the same people, the two animes are carefree and just random. A lot of humor
Cute and funny all together
both are situated in school. there both filled with stupidity and that's what makes them fun to watch.
These show are both VERY funny. and they also dont have much of a plot. and lucky star sometimes even taks about haruhi suzumiya
They both involve a group of teens going through comedic scenario's. Haruhi also makes a bunch of cameo's in Lucky Star.
Both Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya have slice of life school comedy elements to them. Lucky Star has tons of references to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which will be really funny if you've seen the show.
Haruhi and Konata has the same seiyuus, both have random comical scenes, both are random, and Itsuki and Daisuke (Daisuke comes in Lucky Star episode 20) has the same seiyuus too.
has many references and made by the same team
There are lots of references to TMOHS, as well as other shows. Both are centered around a group of friends in high school with random, loose, hilarious storylines. Plus, both are basically from the same creators.
Lucky Star also has comedic performances on the scale of Haruhi, although quite a different kind. Lucky Star is more laid back and less serious but has a similar style which will please fans of either series
They are sister series, and if you watch Lucky Star after Haruhi's Series, then a significantly greater percentage of its jokes will be gotten.
Its comitic value, and you can relate to the characters of both anime
Not too many similarities outside of certain parodies and the amount of references in Haruhi, but admit it, they both have the exact same fanbase so... =P
Well, Both anime have random plot which is full of humor. If you like TMHS you'll definitely like Lucky Star. One of the main characters in Lucky Star, Konata is an otaku hs student. You can see haruhi suzumiya whenever there is reference to anime in this series. The only difference is the way the characters are designed. But overall when you think of Lucky Star, TMHS comes to mind and vice-versa ^^
Haruhi and Konata are the same voice actors and both main characters are loud and random :)
In LS, the super-otaku worships a god. And that god is Haruhi Suzumiya in SHNY. There are also plenty of Haruhi references in LS episodes. Aya Hirano voiced Haruhi and Konata, while Minori Chihara voiced Yuki and Minami. Both feature fun dance routines. If you worship LS or SHNY, you should watch the other as well.
It uses a lot of the same cast--most obviously, Aya Hirano (Haruhi) is Konata, but everyone else from the brigade makes at least a cameo, sometimes more (For the dub, I know Wendee Lee is in both, but I haven't checked out the other actors). Lucky Star makes jokes about other anime, and a lot specifically about Haruhi Suzumiya. It's the same company, and has similar humor. Art is somewhat different, but still has some similarities.
The make alot of reffernces to this anime through out the series and it will help you understand a bit of the humour involved
Lucky Star makes a lot of references to Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. The main chacter Konata even cosplays as Haruhi in one episode.
Lucky Star often refers to anime Haruhi, there are some episodes with characters from Haruhi anime, and what is interesting, Aya Hirano lead her voice to main character in both series.
Both anime offers something more than just crazy humor - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu has some philosophical, psychological elements, while Lucky Star gives us interesting view on japanese pop-culture and japanese way of life.
Maybe this too series are not extremely similar, but generally both are great choice for everyone, who wants something more from anime, somthing "smart"
The main character of lucky star often refers to Haruhi and even cosplays as her
Lucky Star is an anime also created by the company who made the Haruhi Series. Any fans who enjoyed Haruhi would greatly appreciate the various references and themes it links to the series as well as it own twist on the slice of life genre. Featuring its own set of interesting a well developed characters, with the same amazing art style Kyoto Animation is known for.
Slice of life, comedy. Minami-ke is probably better when it comes to comedy since the jokes are too obvious (the comedy in Lucky Star is related to anime and you need to have watched quite a lot to get all those). Oh yea, Lucky Star is much more slice of life than comedy (and vice versa with Minami-ke). In short, i enjoyed Minami-ke a bit more but they are both highly recommended if you are a fan of the genre .
Like watching some eventful daily life of average anime girls? These two titles are for you. One is very laid back with extreme reference to today's real life Japanese society and the other is done in chapters-styled episode involving random activities.
Both are slice-of-life, episodic comedies with mostly female characters (though minami-ke has more male characters).
slice of life, comedy, quirky characters. what more do you want?
They're both comedies and slice of life shows and they're both very random and funny. Lucky Star is a lot more 'laid back' though, while Minami-ke isn't as 'laid back'. Also, Lucky Star has several references to the Japanese culture and to several anime.
Both shows are outstanding slice-of-life shows that are highly entertaining. Good comedy...
Both these animes are just random & hilarious.
There isn't any plot for both of them but the story centres around daily conversations & interactions between the characters of the show.
Lucky Star already ended & IMO the most worthy anime to fill the place left by Lucky Star would be Minami-ke.
Hmmmmmm, Both Of These Shows Have The Same Insaness ^^
Both anime concentrates on a few girls' life. It's like watching the life of some random girls, only that it's not in real life. Both are funny and hilarious, and there's no plot for both of the anime.
The two anime are quite alike in spirit and humor. However, Lucky Star is more childish while Minami-ke is more mature even though it shares the same weird sense of humor that'll make you smirk to the very last moment of the series.
Both of these series are hilarious. One follows the daily life of three young sisters, the other follows the daily life of four high school girls and their friends. And there's no plot besides that XD Both are very random and fun to watch. Lucky Star does a lot of parodying of other anime and has a more slice if life aspect, but both series are still incredibly similar. I'm pretty sure if you enjoyed one, you'd enjoy the other XD
Both anime have no plot, because both are slice-of-life. The most important thing: they're hilarious
Slice of Life, Comedy, Minami-ke is a great and very funny anime with epic characters! great art style, very similar to Lucky Star because of its Comedy. ;D
There is showed a lot of interesting in the common people's way of life. Also they both are too funny ((;
It has no story line, each episode is as random as a lucky star episode.
Both shows feature of cast of girls finding amusement from everyday situations
Both are slice of life following the everyday lives of girls.
Both discuss the dailly lives of young group of girls
Well, both are slice-of-life stories that center simple day to day activities. Both are very entertaining and fun to watch.
They both portray the everyday life of girls They both are comedy's and they're both awesome
Absolutely no plot other than the main character's everyday lives.
-both are slice of life,comedy
-both have no plot
-they both center around the everyday lives of girls
Both of these anime are just to watch for something relaxing and for a good laugh, they feature multiple characters and have a soft artstyle and have a story mostly centred around a group of friends messing around. There's nothing extreme or serious going on and neither of these series take themselves seriously so both are good to watch when you just want to have a laugh.
Two major qualities are fitted into both shows. First, they are the exemplary Japanese "high-tension" comedy, meaning characters in it got ADHD and turn the comedy into something fast-paced, fast-forward Mr.Bean video if you fail to understand. Second, both feature mild sex sale, the real identity of what they call moe.
The comedy part, both are considered fast-paced-high-tension comedy because you know why. They play jokes fast, get it fast, and move on to the next joke fast. Difficult to follow but considered funny if you have some mental rewind ability, or get yourself a remote and a easy-to-read fansub. If you feel a serious need to understand unserious joke, study Japanese.
Oh and the moe part, both are considered mild sex sale because Lucky Stars give character traits that are likable in its era, specifically this era. Boke(airhead), megane(glasses), tsundere(googleit), and otaku-girl stereotype are becoming more prominent as moe anime lead. Nichijou has got some different stereotype but should be considered equally likable. I interchangeably use the word moe and sex-sale in case you have not yet notice.
Both anime series revolve around the every day life in a comical way. They each have the "cute school girls" who do funny, yet common things we can relate to.
If you like random humour and cute and simple animation you'd probably like these :3
Both school life anime about high school girls with a very light-hearted, comedic tone.
-Both contains School Life/ Slice of Life/Romance and is centered around comedy.
-Both animes are compiled of short stories, and are full 30 minute episodes.
Also a funny slice of life comedy.
They're both funny and slice of life, the animation style seems similar, even some of the characters seem similar. If you liked one you should definitely like the other.
A lot of Randomness and Comedy.
Both shares the Slice of Life genre.
Lucky Star && Nichijou have similar style of random comedy regarding everyday life.
They both are slice of life and random, in a funny way. The characters are great and adorable. If you want comedy, i highly recommend both Lucky Star and Nichijou
-occasional references to pop-culture
-form: short scenes, sometimes, very short
-characters are mostly females
-lot of humor, sometimes irrational jokes
Both made by the same people. Both are moe high school girl slice-of-life comedies, where the main characters deal with everyday things: school, boys, food, family, friends... whatever. They are extremely similar in almost every way, except a few:
1. The main character archetypes are radically different.
2. The humor in Nichijou is more random, silly, and dumb. The humor in Lucky Star is more intelligent, and is almost entirely embedded in conversations.
3. The main characters in Lucky Star receive 99.9% of the focus, whereas the side characters in Nichijou get a good chunk of attention by themselves.
Both are extremely funny highschool comedies
Characters, artstyle are very similar to eachother, you might like Nichijou if you love Lucky star.
Highschool girls doing "random" things. They're both funny and cute, but Lucky Star is cuter while Nichijou is more funny.
Both of these shows center around a light-hearted, comedic, slife-of-life, and school type of genre, while also containing a similar type of art style and targeted audience.
It could be the same anime, just different seasons
Both are really funny random comedy shows
If you like Lucky Star, you should love Nichijou.
Both have funny comedy and similar artworks!
slice of life~ and very funny!
First, both share the same 3 genres, comedy, slice of life and school life. They both revolve around a group of girls that go through their regular everyday lives with moments that may just put a smile on your face or give you a chuckle. Both have simple light-hearted humor and random scenes.
Lucky star + Romance = Acchi Kocchi
Both series have the same style of history, a simple slice of life of some gakusei. The great diference on both are the main male characters, wich Lucky Star doesnt have.
If you liked one of theese you'll like other one too ! Almost the same sense of humor and simillar characters makes that in both shows you have almost the same feeling.
-Both contains School Life/ Slice of Life/Romance and is centered around comedy.
-Both animes are compiled of short stories, and are full 30 minute episodes.
Both the characters and the comedy is alike it's also the same kind laid back atmosphere.
It's also based and the school life of a close group of students who seem to care allot about each other.
They both have the same type of feel to the animes. however lucky star is more about just the life of 4 girls when acchi kocchi is about a group of friends and one of the girls, Tsumiki is in love with another guy in there group, Io. So acchi kocchi has more romance in it. They are both must watch animes!
This anime is remembering me to Lucky Star ♥♥
Konata's appeareance + Kagami's character + unusual Nekomimi = Tsumiki
The main character looks the same, basically they are very similar just acchi kocchi has more boys in it
Just watch one episode and you'll feel like it's the same thing except for different characters.
I like to think of Acchi Kocchi as a more "themed" version of Lucky Star. They're both filled with the same super-moe, hyped up archetypes, and random skit (school life and other random activities) premise, but Acchi Kocchi has a much more vibrant style of animation with most of the randomness revolving around a sub-plot of romance. That being said, a lot of people will not enjoy either of these anime... You either love the Lucky Star/K-On slice of life genre or you don't. Personally, I found the "humour" in Acchi Kocchi to be more approachable than Lucky Star's, but I wouldn't consider either of these to be a full blown comedy series.
Same high school life, without the romance part. For me, konata and tsumiki look alike. Both have comedy part. Hime and Tsukusa is the same voice actress.
-Art work is similar
-Main girl characters of LuckyStar and Acchi Kocchi are both short, long hair, reserved
Very similar characters (a few examples on this could be Hime from Acchi Kocchi and Tsukasa from Lucky Star or Konata from Lucky Star and Tsumiki from Acchi Kocchi), similar comedy. Lucky Star is pretty much Acchi Kocchi without the romance. The only difference is probably that Acchi Kocchi actually has a main male character, well, two, in it, while Lucky Star is just about all girls. Similar artwork.
Both shows are "moe blob" type shows with slice of life oriented comedy. The shows are based around the daily lives of the characters and interactions within the groups.
*both animes are cute, with moe characters
*both are funny comedies with a little bit slice of life
*both are about everyday life in high school
*in both characters doing similar things: eating, playing together, going to the festivals, etc.
*similar opening songs: singed by main seyuus
*similar characteristics of characters - they're cute, funny, intelligent, irritating or shy
*similar art: just cute
Tsumiki has a resemblance to Konata from Lucky Star and Hime to Tsukasa from the same series in both appearance and personality.
The major difference is that Acchi Kocchi is focused on romance.
Genres for both anime: Comedy, School, Slice of Life etc.
If you liked Lucky Star you'll definitely like Acchi Kocchi :D
and if you're otaku you must watch these two animes ^^
Both Includes a lot of references of greats animes..So Funny
The way they use other anime reference hidden or revealed in each episode.
Both are School, Satire, Comedy making fun of Japanese culture. Lucky Star makes fun of the gaming and anime culture whilst Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei ridicules other psychological and social issues. ^_^
Although the humor is much darker in SZS, prepare for cute girls and EXTREME RANDOMNESS in both :]
Both share the genres of parody, school, and slice of life. There is no real story in either and filled with randomness. There is an evidence of uniqueness in both.
Both refer to otaku's culture.
Both anime feature strange and funny school girls, and both have a lot of cameo from other anime.
Great humour which, unfortunately, is brought only to the chosen ones, who have watched either Lucky Star, or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Both shows take place mainly in the school grounds and have many similarities in the use of jokes. Also, the characters in both anime are strange and are not the typical ones you can expect from the average school related series. While Konata in Lucky Star is presented as a hardcore otaku with questionable morals, Itoshiki Nozomu from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has somehow weird understanding of very much ordinary things. Well, one's for sure - you won't get bored while watching either os these series!
totally random with plenty of references and parodies
Anime/manga references hidden (or popping out in your face) in each episode, but SZS has a more darker art style. Most of their characters are females, and they're both funny. Both series also center their plot around high school students, including teachers and other side characters. Oh, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei sometimes add a little dark comedy in the mix.
Both are slice of life comedies that parody a lot of other animes, and there are even a few Lucky Star parodies in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Both seem to point out the small things in life that tend to become our habits without even noticing. Also, both have a cast of mostly girls who are quite stereotypical.
Both anime share the same style but sayonara zetsubou sensei uses a darker style of humor, both are extremely random and dosent follow a specific storyline, and both uses various parody about japanese culture.
while lucky star maybe less crazy than sayonara zetsubou sensei, they are still both very funny and revolve around school
Cute girls in school comedy, the same sense of homour and a lot of parody.
Being a parody show, seitokai no ichizon is made with the full awareness of lucky star. The first episodes steals a few screens from lucky star as the show is fully expecting the viewers to cross over. To not have seen LS is to miss the very language of the show and its references.
Cute girls and it parodies other anime.
Both are parody and reference anime. The club thing isn't there, but its moe and loli all the same.
Seitokai no Ichizon are much inspired on lucky star. Both have a group of 4 main girls (In Seitokai no Ichizon plus a male in group), much anime parodies, mainly for suzumiya haruhi. School life and slice of life themes also.
Also, Seitokai no Ichizon parody lucky star.
When i saw the anime, I quickly thought "it's so much like Lucky Star", they both have anime parodies and no plot. :P lol, really fun to watch!
Seitokai no Ichizon has the same silly humor and a load of parodies (that aren't censored out :D) If you're looking for a nice, new, light-hearted anime, this is for you ^_^
Both animes are pretty much plotless
Both have a lot of female characters
Both have tons of moe
Both have a lot of parodies of other animes
Both have some really funny moments :3
These anime are both really random and they both have a lot references.
These two shows are very similar in the make tons of references and give great laughs for all true Otakus.
Seitokai no Ichizon have a lot of parodies of others animes, as Lucky Star. The two animes are very funny ^^
Both with lots of anime references, with many from Suzumiya Haruhi. The characters for both shows fall into the moe genre. Both are very light-hearted and funny shows with little to no plot advancements.
Ichizon also had a direct reference to LS.
A bunch of girls making liberal use of meta-humor and making references to other anime.
Cute girls that do absolutely nothing within the span of the anime's showing. Each girl in both series feature some sort of archetype, and they all reference various anime from various places. (They reference Haruhi a lot for some reason). A fun way to kill time if you want something not so serious.
Does superfluous, crazy anime references make you burst out laughing? How about unexpected gags throughout the whole single episode? If you're up for it, expect the same for this anime.
They both parody or make references to other Animes in a comedic manner.
Well, both of them are a comedy-parody anime with references to other animes.
Both are very amusing comedy shows that make use of a number of anime references. So, if you're looking for the hilarious anime references seen in Lucky Star, then I suggest you watch Hayate no Gotoku!...
Both Animes use a lot of references to other Animes and such, are both pretty random, and are both Comedic.
A series with just as many, if not more, references to other series, but with a coherent story of its own. Cross-cultural references are just as funny, if not even funnier.
They're both filled with random crap, and they're not funny at all. There's also too much tsuntsun and no deredere.
Both series contain a lot of references to other anime/manga. The female leads in both series are huge otakus. Also both series are essentially about nothing, but both contain some great humor.
They're both parody animes; both utilize moe like none other. Both star an otaku: nagi and konata; both have your stereotypical anime characters.
They may not seem similar, but that episodes are similar, episodes with no meaning and nothing much happening, and hilariously funni, (:
There are A LOT of anime refrences, just like Hayate the Combat Butler
If you like a parody-comedy anime. you should watch this too.
They're both parodies and you always see those parts where they censor some words because they cannot broadcast other shows in their anime.
4 girls doing cute stuff, school setting. interestingly enough Kaori Fukuhara, who voices Tsukasa from Lucky Star, voices Run in A Channel
If you like one slice-of-life series about four school girls, surely you'll like this other series fitting the same description! Both have a very easy-going tone and a silly, quirky sense of humour, and if you like the music in one series, then you're in luck! Both have music done by the wonderful Kousaki Satoru.
very similar random dialogues
4 girls doing fun fun stuff, school setting, a little parody, bottomline: moe.
Both based from a 4-koma manga which revolves around four different girls.
The "randomness" feel is there and the art style is quite alike.
Like Lucky Star, this is about 4 girls having fun, going through school, etc etc etc :D
Lucky Star and A-Channel are both slice of life which includes 4-girls with comical everyday life(:
Lucky Star and A Channel both share similar writing style and artwork, and both are extremely funny slice of life series to watch.
It deals with high school girl and what happens throughout their high school years.
Happy slice of life school girl anime's
Both random and revolve around a few high school girls
If you like Lucky Star, you have a high probablity of enjoying Hidamari Sketch.
In my eyes, Lucky Star is KyoAni's version of SHAFT's Hidamari Sketch. The main characters in both animes have similar personalities (the tomboyish Miyako is like Konata; Sae/Kagami; Hiro/Miyuki; Yuno/Tsukasa; and their sensei both act childish). Episodes consist of random but amusing talk about everyday life things and Japanese culture and an occasional reference to another anime (though unlike Hidamari, parody is one of the central themes in LS). Lucky Star was made specifically for the otaku and its pace is much more frantic than the laid back Hidamari. Nonetheless, when watching, you can’t help but notice that these two animes feel very much the same. Therefore, if you enjoyed one, you should like the other.
Hidamari Sketch and Lucky ☆ Star both have this charm to them. They are extremely similar animes about teenage girls going to school. Animation is unique in both. If you liked Lucky ☆ Star you will most likely get into Hidamari Sketch, and the other way around too. =)
They are very similar. The characters are very funny and cute! You can match up the characters from Lucky Star and Hidamari Sketch by the way they behave.
Character personalities and style of story (pretty random) between Lucky Star and Hidamari Sketch are very alike.
Both shows feature four girls in a slice of life
Follow the everyday lives of 4 school girls as they make their way through High School pitfalls while living on their own. Excellent Slice of Life/Comedy with similar appeal to Luck Star.
Similar to Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch is a slice-of-life comedy with four high school girls as main characters. While Hidamari Sketch has very few references to other animes, its calm, relaxing atmosphere and background music are perfect for winding oneself down at the end of the day.
both show talks about the daily life of group of girls .. =)
Both are laid back, easygoing slice-of-life comedy animes about four girls in high school. Each character in Hidamari Sketch also has a matching character in Lucky Star, if you think about the way they behave.
They have the same kind of atmosphere, for the most part. It's funny, relaxing and I think you'd have to me in the minority if you liked Lucky Star and not Hidamari Sketch. I should mention that you follow the art students just as you followed Konata and her friends in school. They both contain moe.
It's also a slice-of-life anime, and, of course, features cute lolis.
Both anime are quite similar to each other, in that they both deal with the everyday lives of a group of girls. Niether series has any large plot to follow, with each episode having a stand alone theme.
They're also both very funny in the way that they show the situations that the girls get into-such as going to the beach, what they do over school holidays, or thier school life.
Finally, each series has some random comedic moments thrown in which makes them both very likable.
Random, cute, group of girls.
Both Animes unite all these things.
The sense of humor is quite not everyones taste, but ifya like the style and you dont mind not havin a real plot these Animes are for you.
When I think of Lucky Star, I see ichigo mashimaro. Great humour, great characters, great songs.
-supercute an naive characters
there are similarities between some characters too...
example: Nobue Ith - Kagami Hiiragi
both of them are the maturest characters of the main staff and get nerved by the main character.
Because its funny and cute ^^
started crying cause its so funny!
The two are both cute, hilariously funny, slice-of-life animes.
Another slice of life with girls and how they go with their day. Both very cute and very much like eatch other.
They are both about ordinary girls lives, and are both funny and cute! ^_^
Its about 4 girls just hanging around talking about whats on their mind in both animes.
There is the glasses-girl, the Otaku, the clumsy oversleep-all-the-time girl, the classic moe girls.
Both hame similar drawing style being "fun" and lighthearted.
Both of them misses any kind of real story, its just a lot of sketches of the girls doing sleepovers, missing homework and talking about stuff.
Both shows have cute girls making funny observations about every day life...
...But in YuruYuri, they clearly have crushes on each other! Lucky Star had some subtle shoujo-ai subtext, but they go for broke in YuruYuri.
Still, if you like cute character designs and slice-of-life humor, check both out!
Cute girls enjoying their school life. Cast of characters is very similar - otaku, tsukkomi, the one that always fantasing about others, the silent one etc. Lucky Star is more geeky and random but both are very funny
Both have comedy
Both have funny girls
So, both are LOL!!
comedy 4-koma, otaku (Toshino Kyouko), both are stories about 4 girls with fun school life with nothing to accomplish >.<
School girl anime, same laid back feeling, both have an otaku girl in it. However, yuru yuri has ecchi scenes in it.
Similar cast of characters. They're both slice-of-life / comedy with all female leads. Konata is a lot like Toshino; a bit of a pervert, a huge otaku, and completely enigmatic. Yuru Yuri is Lucky Star if all the characters in Lucky Star were lesbians and in middle school.
Both anime's are full of comedy and make you laugh at its really weird randomness, also they both show life of highschool students in a funny way. One might show more about love than the other but they both do excelent parodies of other anime's and movies. xD
Both are school, comedy, slice of life anime great for pure entertainment and tons of laughter.
It's the same genre, but with a slight more appeal to the male audience plus a crapload more comedy. It's like Lucky Star but for both sexes.
Both are funny. Lucky Star has less drama.
same school based slice of life humor
Both lucky star and school rumble have some of the most random comedy i've ever seen. Both are also similar, taking place on a school, and following the mains life.
While lucky star is almost only about comedy, is school rumble more a romantic comedy. But when i watch one, i can't stop thinking about the other.
Both set in schools with girls as the main characters, but SR is more of a romance and comedy.
Both are about otaku girls and their friends and family- though there's more drama in OreImo, and Lucky Star is a lot more easy going
Both are about female otaku & how her friends/family feel about their hobby
The protagonist is a otaku, The difference is that it if supported
If you are looking for a similar show about otaku culture, this is it. Whether it's to laugh at the main character's obsession with the hobby or secretly envy the devotion, just having enough "knowledge" to watch her (Kirino/Konata's) actions and understand them makes it a fun experience. However, their paths along this nerdy road are quite different so it's also nice to look at it from the perspective of someone who has the support of most of his friends and family and one who doesn't really have to courage to come out. Lots of references, tackling of shady subjects of pop culture and great supporting characters.
otaku girls and their friends, families, and hobbies
Both main protagonists are okatus.
Both anime are light-hearted slice of life animes.
Both shows are similar in a MOE + slice of life sort of way. In comparison K-On is slightly more mature while Lucky Star is more cartoon-ish and relies on the cute factor a whole lot more. Both shows share the same target audience.
the comedy is about the same, the two shows are both about cute high school girls basically doing nothing lol both series have the same air to them. i think k-on is superior tho because of the music factor but thats just my opinion.
Everyone who likes a genuinely fun slice of life should see both of these. Cute characters that aren't too stereotypical, their tiny quirks and interesting, everyday conversations can be found in abundance. Perfect for relaxing after a hard day at work/school.
Yon-koma styling, SoL comedy, highschool girls and moe underpin the general atmosphere of both shows.
Mainly female characters, School Environment, ends with graduation (story takes place over schooling life) both primarily a slice of life anime with other elements tied into it.
The Anime's genre is different, however I find many of main characters quite similiar in both of animes. (Kagami would be clannad's Kyou, Tsukasa=Ryou, Konata=Fuko). I can quite assure that if viewers enjoyed Lucky Star's Characters, they surely would enjoy/appreciate Clannad and It's Characters.
I found them similar because they both are about school comedy & ryou is like tsukasa, kagamai is like kyou, nagisa is like miyuki(a little bit) & fuko is like konata.
Lucky Star and Clannad are very alike cause they're mostly about humor :) But Clannad WILL MAKE YOU CRY (Warning just for you people :) ). And if you didn't cry, that means you either have no heart, or you didn't watch it all the way through. ._.
Ok, so back to where we were, Clannad also has characters that are similiar to Lucky Star characters, not exactly like them, but similiar at least ^_^ This anime also features romance, which is something that Lucky Star didn't feature (Note: This is the stuff that will make you cry :) ). Well, Clannad is mostly a comedy anime, and the romance parts aren't like, all the sappy and corny ones also. So it's a really good anime for those people that want some laughs.
Oh, and also for those romance lovers, finish the first season and move onto the second season, a bit more romance for you. :) (And yeah, I know this is "recommending" a sequel, but I didn't make a whole new recommendation for it, so yeah :) )
Oh, and this is my first recommendation and I bet tons of people of already have done this recommendation, so don't be mean please :)
Both Clannad and Lucky Star are beautiful animes that focus on topics such as friendship, everyday living and comedy.
They're quite different from one another. Lucky Star will make you laugh while Clannad will make you laugh and cry :) Oh and Lucky Star characters have similar looking characters in Clannad. Kagami - Kyou, Tsukasa - Ryou and Konata - Fuko
Both depicts deeply in Japanese culture in both a humorous and true way.
A must watch!
Both have a lot of humor, references to another animes, and otakus! =)
Both animes deal with the topic of otakuness and subtopics like games, manga, anime itself, cosplay, soundtracks and what not. Genshiken can deal with the topics in a serious way, creating an ambiance of pride and what not, and Lucky Star derives the topic into a silly story of life, more for the sake of the viewers' laughter.
both are about otakus but have different styles, one is with cute females and the other with university students..mostly unatractive , genshiken has a plot but lucky star dosnt.both have great comedy
Genshiken is a more serious and realistic version of Lucky Star, although focusing on male characters. Both series deal with "Ero-games", although they are more "featured" in Genshiken.
Both are Chibi. Lucky Star is only Chibi in specific scenario's, though. They are also both about a group of teens going through comedic scenario's.
Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuuutsu's like a hybrid of Lucky Star and Suzumiya Haruhi
It's both funny & cute and have the same personalities. The Genres are both slice of life and comedy, although i have to say Haruhi ONA was much more fun to watch.
Both are incredibly adorable shows about absolutely nothing, but that's where their charm lies. Whilst Lucky Star is more about the everyday lives of the characters, Haruhi-Chan is about random/impossible side adventures that the cast from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu get up to. If you're looking for a good laugh then check out both.
Same comedy style, same Seiyū for the heroine, same animation studio.
Conclusion: Aya Hirano (Seiyū) = Izumi Konata (Lucky Star) = Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuuutsu)
A lot of references of Keroro in Lucky Star.
They also use the real voices of the characters, and they appear as dolls and figurines in the serie.
The show is also humoristic, and sometimes it's as random as Keroro.
They come from the same distribution company, hence there are Keroro Gunso parodies throughout! It's very humerous and you will understand Lucky Star's parodies of it if you watch Keroro Gunso.
Keroro Gunsou's humor is a lot like Lucky Star's. There's a ton of references slipped into each episode that pays homage to older anime such as Fist of the North Star and (of course) Gundam. Both shows also repeatedly break the fourth wall and use running gags.
both are about school life, both are very funny, and both animes have cute character designs.
Slice of life awesomeness although one of the two is completely underrated.
Many parallels could be drawn between these 2 series:
-Based on 4 panel strips.
-The art styles, while not identical, remind me very much of each other.
-Both school/slice of life, obviously.
-Extensive cast of supporting characters. Nearly every character no matter how minor, has a set of personal quirks and traits that add significantly to the humor and overall feel of the show.
-Lead character (Konata/Sunao) lives with their single father, mother deceased.
Potemayo lacks the constant barrage of pop-culture references seen in Lucky Star, but ignoring that the style of humor is very similar. Potemayo's cast, in terms of gender ratio is more balanced; it has some moe females in it, but they aren't the overwhelming majority. Lastly, Potemayo has a definite strange/bizzare/LOLWTF factor that is absent in Lucky Star.
All in all, if you liked the humor and visual presentation of Lucky Star, Potemayo is seriously worth a look.
Both are slice of life, have comedy and there is an otaku girl. Lucky Star focuses on 4 friends and Watamote just in one girl, but the style is alike, the life of the main characters with no a story, just random facts of their life. I found watamote like more depressing comedy and lucky star lighter but I am completely sure you'll like both.
Another minor fact Tomoko looks alike Konata and both are otaku, of course they have different personalities.
There's a big difference when it comes to how the characters act. But MC in both series are very similar. If you enjoyed Watamote, you'll like Lucky Star.
If you're looking for a plot-less Anime, solely for situational humor, then Lucky Star and Mitsudomoe both fit your needs.
Basically Mitsudomoe and Lucky star are episodic anime series about school girls depicted in moe fashion, just slight animation and art differences. Both shows are full of comedy in each and every episode, occasional (and blatant) reference humor to other TV shows and animes (Mitsudomoe likes using Power Rangers and Lucky Star uses Haruhi). These two shows are both centered around a group of girls, Lucky Star is supposed to be about high schoolers but look like they're the same age as the elementary school cast of Mitsudomoe. The only slightly significant difference is that Mitsudomoe has more male side characters whereas Lucky Star has like two. Lucky Star seems more popular among viewers with Mitsudomoe receiving less attention when it's just as funny the former. Overall, laid back shows that deserve a watching, especially if you need a laugh.
Although their audience is set to be different (Lucky Star is mainly for otakus, Gintama is more for the general public), Gintama comes with as much, or more, anime references, randomness, and comedy as Lucky Star. However, as this contains some seriousness and almost none or absolutely no "moe," to those that watch Lucky Star for the "moe," that's not what you will get from this.
Endlessly hilarious shows. Both feature parodies of pop culture especially animes and extremely random humor.
Slice of life that focuses on a small group of characters (mainly female) at their school. Humorous and dialogue-driven, both of these series contain many random moments. Yuyushiki has a bit more fluidity to its pacing and conversations. Lucky Star makes a lot more references to other series and features an otaku girl as the main character.
Both series constantly spout random facts and lighthearted comedy out of thin air.
There are several form of two man comedy 'manzai stunt' that involves one straight man (Kagami in Lucky Star / Yui in Yuyushiki) and two idiots (Tsukasa and Konata in Lucky Star / Yukari and Yuzuko in Yuyushiki).
Both series also in a funny way have every extra characters besides the main casts displayed as an ordinary character, bland, lacking of colors, or even to extreme degree in Lucky Star everybody else is voiced by the same person.
Both of these anime have cute characters, humour, and pure plotless fun.
The only difference is that Lucky Star deals with everyday people while Magipoka has magical creatures in it. So if you're ever tired and just want something mindless to watch, go for it!
Those two anime are really smiliar. First off, it's based about random events and does not exactly have a storyline. Lucky Star has alot of random events when Magical Pokan has two (random) stories in one episode. The characters are very funny in their own way and there's also four main girls in both anime. The only difference between them is the magic used in Magical Pokaan, magical characters and fantasy events which you don't find in Lucky Star. Lucky Star is about high school girls who enjoy their (otaku) life and how they spend time with each other. Though I'm sure you'll enjoy this one if you enjoyed the other.
Kind of obvious, both are based on 4komas, deal with the daily life of a group of girls, and both are funny as hell. Only diferrence is Lucky Star is really random while Dojin Work has a story.
Originally four-panel comics, both series had successfully endured their transition from paper to screen and maintained the original, inventive, quick LOLs and giggles that were typically found within said comics.
The humor, clearly evident within both, is there. You are not.
Yamamoto Yutaka, the director of this anime was also the director of Lucky Star(ep 1 - 4). and u can find Kannagi's style is very similar to that of Lucky Star.
Both have different anime studios but the two has great similarities in animation and craziness. Lucky Star is completely random while Kannagi has a plot to follow. Lucky Star just reminded me of Kannagi because of the animation. If you want another taste of fluid animation like Lucky Star's, Kannagi's a great try. and yes, Yutaka Yamamoto... if you know what I mean.
Its similar b/c it they both follow girls doing random stuff with no story line. They also follow cute girls as the main character... even the artwork slightly resemble each other (with ALOT of in-animate simple artwork)
they are so similar that you wont believe it, a couple of girls and their normal lives, how they interact with each other during school, and a little perverted puns, and the girls personalities are surpringly similar
Lucky Star as well as Nagasarete Airantou are both anime, which doesn't follow a storyline. They only purpose of these anime is fun for a special audience. They both are somewhat funny, often has unreal jokes, but there's no other way than to laugh. If you like "easy" anime, which you can watch without thinking too much about a complicated story, Lucky Star and Nagasarete Airantou are the right choice.
Both of these shows are quite enjoyable, they also both contain a light hearted story with the exception of parts of fruits basket. i believe that if you enjoyed fruits basket then you would also enjoy lucky star and vice versa
Although both have Kyoto Animation written all over it, Lucky Star, like Tamako Market has that "moe" and "slice of life" effect that for some could be considered trivial fluff, but for most others, a breath of relaxing fresh air that can bring a smile to your face. Minus the fact that Lucky Star doesn't have an actual plot line, but it is still effective.
Binbougami ga! is similar to Lucky☆Star due to the fact that both have really good parodies. Binbougami ga! including parodies of some of the most well-known anime of all time.
I can't believe no ones made this rec yet! The jokes in the two are very similar about anime and general otaku culture. Certainly not the same format of show but both had the same reasons for enjoyment.
Lucky Star is similar to Ai Mai Mii:
Both are comedies about high school girls.
Also these two have similar type of humor and somewhat similar characters personalities.
One thing I like about Lucky Star is how the short comedic segments recreate something of the repetition and randomness of everyday life, but in a refreshing kind of way. Well this format was basically invented by Tonari no Yamada-kun.
Tonari no Yamada-kun doesn't focus on cute girls and school life, but on the whole family and is more deep. Overall Tonari no Yamada-kun's art is simplier than LS, but it has moments of complex and realistic art/animation that can't be found in LS.
There are very similar aspects. Lucky Star is mainly about girls who attend school together, and Special A is usually located at school and about people who attend school together.
Both shows are about kids in high school and has very little of a "true" plot. Doki Doki involves the males in high school more so than Lcuky Star, which basically focuses on just the girls. Overall, they both have no real story behind them and are good to watch if you just want a light laugh.
Both series have lots of humor, are mainly about girls and have not many guys in it.
Both series don't really have a plot either.
Though the scene is different (the galaxy <-> high school), the series are quite alike!!
Lots of episodes that are based on the comedy, and lots of random action here and there, Seto No Hanayome has some romance here and there but not a major point in the anime, Lucky Star doesn't have the romance but makes it up for the laughs and the things we see in life brought into anime
similar character design, lots of emotion in the characters, both are slice of life's and both show the true enjoyment of living life and the small things in it. Both have instantly lovable characters.
edit: why recommend a SOL anime to another SOL anime, Because they are similar (DUH) It's supposed to be similar. It's a recontamination.
Both are random, cute/funny, and take place in present-day Japan. Anyone who enjoys Konata's (Lucky Star) jokes will probably enjoy Shin-chan's crazy antics, and vice versa. The art style of both series is cartoony and unique. Both series have been very successful and well-recieved by anime fans.
Both depicting everyday life in 20th century setting of several high-school girls. Both presenting charming characters in their own unique behavior and attributes.
Both encompassing smart talks, funny events, and family friendship atmosphere throughout the series.
Both never showing overly dramatic, but amazingly entertaining with high re-watch value. If you watch Minami-ke Okaeri and like it, you'll like Lucky Star, and vice-versa.
unlike in LS in GA they have a main charac. xept for one of the girls obvious obssession with anime and manga (no pun intended) they both have the same enegy and random comedy so if you liked one youll enjoy the other
