Kind of obvious, really-- both are based on 4komas, deal with the daily life of a group of girls, COMEDY, et cetera.
Its both about the daily life from Schoolgirls whithout a big Storyline.
It's based on gags about School, games and Japanese Daily life.
Both are similar in that the main characters are all female, and similar personalities.
Both series are about the everyday happenings a group of high school girls. They both follow their daily lives with anime humour thrown in.
Slice of life w/ high school girls in comedy situations. Alot of moe situations...
...and both have my favorite Cafeteria lunch time skits ^_^.
Both are slice of life comedies featuring a group of a high school girls and their random adventures throughout high school life.
Similar comedy style, its offbeat and centers around the lives of a group of high school girls.
Another slice of life anime
They both revolve around school, hanging out, eating and having fun.
Both series have similar plot lines and characters. Both are also "anything goes" when it comes to topics and are pretty episodic.
Lucky Star's comedy is mostly being carried by Hirano Aya, and the rest of the gang play off her character. For Azumanga Daioh, everyone on the team works together with the others, so they function like a group, each is funny in her own way and they play off among on another. Lucky Star is basically talking about high school nothing, ala the Seinfeld Style. For Azumanga Daioh, there are very small arcs for the purpose of driving forward humor. Both 4koma-turned-anime shows about school with Azumanga Daioh being a little more slapstick and less Otaku humor driven.
Pretty much what everyone else said.
Both are Slice of life following some schoolgirls using puns and gags all over the place. Both are very enjoyable.
Same plotless comedy with awesome characters and original jokes.
Both are utterly plotless relying solely on the personalities of each of the characters for the comedy. Lucky star is, in effect, Azumanga daioh in a brand new skin.
Both animes are about a group of normal (or not so normal) girls just trying to make their way through high school. These series have lots of running gags and clever one-liners that you'll come to remember them for. While Lucky Star is more for the otakus since it contains lots of references to other anime and Japanese culture, both contain characters you will fall in love with and will make you look at school and life in general in a humorous type of way.
Pretty similiar humour and feeling
Slapstick, crazy, weird comedy. Many references to Japanese culture, high school girls, etc.
Both is about absolutely nothing and really cute. I like Lucky Star better though, I think it's way funnier.
Both are about the everyday lives of several high school girls as they graduate... Both series also offers a dynamic cast of characters!
Funny story about everyday schoolgirls ^^
they both pretty much gotta do with like school in some way or another and their both really cute anime ^^
If you like slice of life anime like Azumanga Daioh but want a more wacky show watch Lucky Star.
Both are school comedies and don't have a real story line. Lucky Star is the otaku version.
Puns, Puns, and more puns. A fun way to learn about Japanese pop culture.
Both these shows revolve around a group of high school girls, their experience of high school and their personal lives. But in contrast to Lucky Star's brightly colored animations azumanga's animation is more dull to put focus on the fact that it wants you to pay more attention to the jokes and the physical comedy.
Well, they have a similar feel to it and they're both slice of life and comedy anime. The difference though is that Lucky Star has references to several anime and to the Japanese culture. But other than that, both shows are pretty similar in following the lives of a group of high school girls.
Both have a awesome set of girls as the main leads. They follow the "Slice of life" genere with their fancy twists and turns. Major comedy in them as well. If you are a all around fan of anime, these series have lots of puns and whatnot. You can't go wrong with this.
Two titles that have completly crazy main characters with mixed unenviable history about hm... just life ...school life XD
They're both slice-of-life and about a group people who are going through high school.
Very similar slice of life animes.
It´s the same type of light humor. The series shows the life of a group of female high school friends and individual moments of them which are very funny. Also their teacher is a women maybe in her late 20's who lives alone, is aloof , single, and crazy.
Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star are comedies that rely on slice of life moments without a definite plot. Both follow a group of Highschool girls and the humour is derived from the interaction between the members of the cast, most of which display a zany behaviour. Azumanga Daioh's appeal might be wider while Lucky Star includes some otaku jokes that might be lost to many but both titles are likely to interest the same kind of public.
They both star high school girl and talks about their everyday lives and you get to learn more abotu Japanese culture!
Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are both lovable for the same reason: the beauty of nothing really happening. Both simply follow the lives of a small group of lovable characters in their daily lives, with tons of comedic material thrown in. Nothing super natural, no magic or space fights, nobody jumping into the air 50 feet at exactly the same time and hight as a long time rival only to kick each other's legs several times and fall...
Cracky comedy, extreme weird high school girl characters and a random slice of life story, these are mainly the things that these anime have in common. Quite a lot, ne?
In both these anime they have a school girl life with tons of friends and laughters, so if you like one of there. You should watch the other!=3
Both are slice of life, neither have any particular point that they lead towards but touch on a wide variety of topics.
Both have a fairly small cast of interesting characters taking part in very everyday events, and both are extremely satisfying.
Azumanga Daioh is basically just like Lucky Star without all the anime and game references, well, at least not as many. Azumanga is far better than Lucky Star is, though, on many leves.
It is also based on high school life. The charaters are almost the same way, but Lucky Star has Konata. She is an anime lover, a gamer, and the best cramer you'll ever meet! Kagami is kinda like Yomi. Always telling Konata to do her homework. And seems to always make her point. Tsukasa is like Osaka! Only Osaka is funnier, and Tsukasa is Stupider. Then brains with the biggest breats, Myuki! Overall i have to say Lucky Star is one of the funniest animes out there. Hope you watch and enjoy!
It is like - looking through a reflection of itself. LUCKY STAR IS AZUMANGA DAIOH!!! Only focused on one year of H.S., not 3...
Both are completely random comedies set in high school, and neither of them really have all that much of a plot. The main difference is really just that Lucky Star uses a lot of references to other shows in almost every single episode, so Azumanga might be a lot easier to "get" for people who haven't seen that many anime-series before.
School, comedy and much fun! If you rly liked Azumanga, u'll be more than pleased with Lucky Star ;)
If you like the everyday life of a bunch of pretty looking girls...you must see Lucky Star. It' pretty funny too.
Both animes have certain quirkyness to them there both random and cute. They make you smile and laugh sometimes non stop.Well for me that is.
Same genres, very similar shows, yet lucky star has a more subtle pace..
It is just more slice-of-life really. But still, don't take this as more of the same. Azumanga Daioh has more of your "everyday people", leaving out otakus and a lot of cultural and anime references. It is also the closest you'll get to the "real-life" of japanese high-scholers.
They are both about a group of high school girls going through comedic scenario's. They both have small comedic acts with the teachers, too.
Both are slice of lifes that circle around high school girls .
Another all out high school comedy, and basically, about nothing, like Seinfeld.
Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are both slice of life comedies that take place mainly in school. They're both pretty random, and they each have extremely catchy openings.
Both are insanibly cute , with humour and are sunny and are about everyday life of school girls
both are masterpieces and a must see
The characters in both series are very memorable. The environment in both series is pretty similar, without a flashy "I gotta save the world" storyline, but focusing on what friendship in high school is like, and little details that we experience everyday. If you are already out of high school, it is a plus!
both feature very little plot, both focus on a group of high school girls, both REALLY random, and both VERY FUNNY.
Both deal with high school girls and a plotless storyline
same Style of characters, plot, music, weirdness(^^).. surprisingly similar and great :3
both are slice of life comedies, both are really funny and both have really cute and well developed characters and stories
Similar school environment with no real story line besides high school progression.
Well if you don't count the fact that both are about the daily lives of regular (but very eccentric) High School Japanese friends and the wacky adventures they apparently follow out of nothing to start with I don't really find much >.>

It was made by KyoAni, also.. and there are lots of references to Haruhi in there!
(And there's dancing. >3)
the voice actor of haruhi is the same for konata...the best char in this anime :D
There are many references to MoHS in Lucky Star, and they even have a few similar voice actors.
Same voice actors, funny, and KyoAni made it.
Both animes are funny and the main characters have the same voice actress.
There's a lot of Haruhi refences in this anime, Konata (the main role) is an otaku, and is also a fan of the Suzumiya Haruhi anime.
Also, she dresses like her in one episode, and share some of the voice actors.
Both anime are funny.
It makes alot of fun out of the melancholy, so if you haven't watched it you might find Lucky Star a bit stale (if that's even possible)
It is pretty much a prerequisite if you want to get a lot of enjoyment out of the series. Otherwise, these jokes will be lost. Watching other KyoAni titles would help, but not really necessary.
You've got to watch Haruhi before you watch Lucky star. There's just too many references in Lucky star you wouldnt get if you hadnt watched Haruhi. Plus theres Seiyuu and same animation company Kyoani.
Same voice actor (Aya Hirano) for main characters of both Suzumiya Haruhi and Lucky ☆ Star (Haruhi-chan and Kona-chan, respectively), same studio, similar characters and humor.
Excluding the fact it's made from the same company, Kyoto Animation, in almost every episode there's a Suzumiya Haruhi parody as well as parodies from other anime. Most of the seiyuus from Haruhi are also in Lucky Star as well. Don't judge it by the 1st episode, it gets better!!!
OMG!! HIRANO AYA!!! <3 <3
They have similar casts and the quirky humor is still there. Both are also slice-of-life (like) anime.
These are both a 'slice of life' anime. The main characters are a bit on the odd side, but still lovable. Both animes have a strange sense of humor. These are so similar that fans have made up the names "Konaharu" and "Izumasuzimiya". In Lucky Star, many references of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are made.
they are both ironic in a way, and the dance for the opening (or ending?), is kind of similar, how they're both dancing with pom poms and cheerleading outfits (come to think of it, their outfits are similar also, just a different color) and how theres like 5 or so people dancing.
Lucky Star has to be one of the funniest and randomest animes I've seen by far! The reason why these two are recommended for each other is beacuse Lucky Star's main character Konata is a complete manga/anime/game otatku and her favorite anime character is, none other than, Haruhi Suzumiya! Lucky Star has all sorts of puns and such of some animes and games...gotta' love it! SO I suggest this sereis 100% to anyone who likes a good laugh! hyuu~!
I don't need words to say that these two animes are very similar.
They a strikingly similar in may ways and aspects, if you like Lucky Star, you'll love Haruhi Suzumiya!
hmmm well lets see lucky star takes some scenes from the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya and its so funny its a must see if you like it and also stupidity makes it more enjoyable and puts a smile on your face ^^
Both shows are pretty random but are so funny. Also Lucky Star plays of TMOHS because one of the main characters, Konata, loves Haruhi and cosplays as her in a cosplay cafe.
Haruhi Suzumiya is often parodied in Lucky Star, they are both from the same studio and both have weird humour. You'll definitely like the other, if you like one of them.
Both have the same voice acter for the main roles, both take place in school, both star teenage girls. Same genre. Need I say more?
Both animes are produced by KyoAni. Lucky Star has a lot of Haruhi references in it, so some of those might make sense if you watch Haruhi. Also, the main main character (Konata for Lucky Star and Haruhi for Haruhi) are both voiced by the same person. They both take place at school, too.
This anime is AMAZING! It has something for everybody in it! I can't describe it very well; all I have to say is: WATCH IT!
Just like another of my recommendations. These 2 differs.. But the concept might be the same, It's what you can call slice of life. And both are very random. The two anime's is also linked in a way. So if you ever feel like watching Lucky Star, I highly recommend that you watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya first. Since some Haruhi moments will appear in Lucky Star. Same goes for the voice actors/actresses.
Lucky Star has alot of humor relating to Haruhi, and draws alot of its jokes from it.
both are situated in school. there both filled with stupidity and that's what makes them fun to watch.
Cute and funny all together
the randomness and the many haruhi references make it a must see lol
They both involve a group of teens going through comedic scenario's. Haruhi also makes a bunch of cameo's in Lucky Star.
Both are school life and comedy animes and both have cosplaying characters and there is a good amount of Haruhi reference in Lucky Star
Haruhi and Konata has the same seiyuus, both have random comical scenes, both are random, and Itsuki and Daisuke (Daisuke comes in Lucky Star episode 20) has the same seiyuus too.
The main characters are very similar, both of them having strange visions about life.
Created by the same people, the two animes are carefree and just random. A lot of humor
There are lots of references to TMOHS, as well as other shows. Both are centered around a group of friends in high school with random, loose, hilarious storylines. Plus, both are basically from the same creators.
has many references and made by the same team
Both Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya have slice of life school comedy elements to them. Lucky Star has tons of references to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which will be really funny if you've seen the show.
These show are both VERY funny. and they also dont have much of a plot. and lucky star sometimes even taks about haruhi suzumiya
Lucky Star also has comedic performances on the scale of Haruhi, although quite a different kind. Lucky Star is more laid back and less serious but has a similar style which will please fans of either series
Its comitic value, and you can relate to the characters of both anime
They are sister series, and if you watch Lucky Star after Haruhi's Series, then a significantly greater percentage of its jokes will be gotten.
Not too many similarities outside of certain parodies and the amount of references in Haruhi, but admit it, they both have the exact same fanbase so... =P

K-ON! is Lucky Star with just as much emphasis on moé-moé slice-of-life humor, more emphasis on music and some semblance of a PLOT.
K-ON! and Lucky Star are both easy-going, slice-of-life anime that have practically matching character personalities. K-ON has a hint of a story-line, but ends up with the pointless and random almost every episode, just like Lucky Star. If you loved one, there is no way you'll not love the other.
It's humorous, sweet and beautiful look, as Lucky Star.
Both made by KyoAni, both deal w/ 4 girls, both are moe shows
Both animes follow four average girls on their "journey" through high school. both sets of girls look rather young for high schoolers, but face similar struggles as those that real high schoolers face. Also, while K-ON! has more to do with music, both have great songs! These comedies are both so great and if u like one of them you'll definitely like the other!!! hope this helps!!!
K-ON and Lucky Star are very similar in many ways.
Firstly: the characters are similar. Examples: Mugi and Miyuki are similar because both are rich; Konata and Ritsu are similar because both are crazy; Kagami and Mio are somewhat similar because they try to control the crazy ones; Yui and Tsukasa are similar because they both forget things, sometimes important things.
Secondly: In both anime, The story is revolved around 4 girls. In Lucky Star: Konata, Miyuki, Tsukasa, and Kagami. In K-ON: Mio, Mugi, Yui, and Ritsu. There are also teachers involved and other girls.
Thirdly: In both anime, the theme is comedy and school, however K-ON is music and Lucky Star is slice of life.
That concludes my recommendation.
Lucky Star and K-ON! Has Similar characters, not by looks but by attitudes as well. It doesn't have the same storylines. But if you watch Lucky Star or the latter, you will feel the same atmosphere in both animes. They are produced by Kyoto Animation as well, giving you the same amount of humor, Lucky Star brought us.
Both made by Kyoto Animation, graphic styles are similiar
both tells a story about four girls, both are school comedies
K-ON is pretty much Lucky Star with musical instruments. Both are made by the same company. If you liked Lucky star you will like K-ON also. (Judging by the 1st 3 episodes only)
Both of these Animes share a good amount of comedy as well as being slice-of-life shows.
Not only that but all four of the main girls from each series have a similar personality. Like...
-Konata=Ritsu, both of them seem to have a hyperactive attitude and act not as normal as others. -Kagami=Mio, both share a good study habits and are really smart. Plus they can act really strict .
-Tsukasa=Yui, both of them don't really like to study that much and they really like to eat sweets.
-Miyuki=Tsumugi, they both come form wealthy families and they also have a sweet personality.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the charcters from lucky star all of a sudden created a rock band? well here you go. you can even see the characteristics of each of the characters being almost he same. The seiyu are different and not as well know but they are all rising starts in the anime business.
The story centers around four high-school girls who go about their daily lives, with various themes at the center. K-ON! is very similar to Lucky Star, but replace the 2ch references and otaku culture with music.
Same studio, similar narration and humor.
Made by the same studio, both have very similar type of humor, both are about a group of girls in high school and both are moe
carefree girls with slice of life/school life.
both animes are about skool girls
and they are both really funni
K-ON and Lucky Star are both slice of life moe comedies that mainly take place in school. The characters are extremely similar, for example:
Konata-Ritsu
Tsukasa-Yui
Kagami-Mio
Miyuki-Tsumugi
Moe and funny what more do you need in any show. Both shows are lighthearted and fun to watch.
Lucky Star and K-ON focused more on the drama/slice of life and comedy.
So, if you found Lucky star worth watching, then so is K-ON.
There are also character that act for the "moe", the serious one, etc.
They're both a slice of life anime with 4 cute girls and are made by Kyoto Animation.
If you liked Lucky Star, you'll definitely love K-On!
The characters are all loveable, and its comedic aspects and slice of life genre will definitely appeal to all viewers :)
This is very similar because both animes have four main charaters and slowly start to gain more charaters toward the end. They both express chibi scenes to make childish comedy which i could help but laugh at. The only differnce is that K-on is based around learning music and Lucky star tries to referance anything they can while at school.
K-on! is just like Lucky Star in so many ways. Even though the plots are different, the main characters have a lot of the same personalities and traits and it centers around their school life. It is also just as funny as Lucky Star =P.
both are EXTREMELY hilarious!!! just girls hanging out, talkin about stuff and doing things that makes you laugh!! the characters are very similar...
Yui- Tsukasa
Mio- Kagami
Ritsu- Konata
Tsumugi- Miyuki
the teachers who hangs around with them have the same personality as well, the 4 main characters treats them as if they're the same age....
Sawako- Nanako (they're also teachers who doesn't have any boyfriend so they have nothing else to do xD)

slice of life, comedy, quirky characters. what more do you want?
Both shows are outstanding slice-of-life shows that are highly entertaining. Good comedy...
Both these animes are just random & hilarious.
There isn't any plot for both of them but the story centres around daily conversations & interactions between the characters of the show.
Lucky Star already ended & IMO the most worthy anime to fill the place left by Lucky Star would be Minami-ke.
Like watching some eventful daily life of average anime girls? These two titles are for you. One is very laid back with extreme reference to today's real life Japanese society and the other is done in chapters-styled episode involving random activities.
Hmmmmmm, Both Of These Shows Have The Same Insaness ^^
They're both comedies and slice of life shows and they're both very random and funny. Lucky Star is a lot more 'laid back' though, while Minami-ke isn't as 'laid back'. Also, Lucky Star has several references to the Japanese culture and to several anime.
Both anime concentrates on a few girls' life. It's like watching the life of some random girls, only that it's not in real life. Both are funny and hilarious, and there's no plot for both of the anime.
Both are slice-of-life, episodic comedies with mostly female characters (though minami-ke has more male characters).
Slice of life, comedy. Minami-ke is probably better when it comes to comedy since the jokes are too obvious (the comedy in Lucky Star is related to anime and you need to have watched quite a lot to get all those). Oh yea, Lucky Star is much more slice of life than comedy (and vice versa with Minami-ke). In short, i enjoyed Minami-ke a bit more but they are both highly recommended if you are a fan of the genre .
The two anime are quite alike in spirit and humor. However, Lucky Star is more childish while Minami-ke is more mature even though it shares the same weird sense of humor that'll make you smirk to the very last moment of the series.
Both of these series are hilarious. One follows the daily life of three young sisters, the other follows the daily life of four high school girls and their friends. And there's no plot besides that XD Both are very random and fun to watch. Lucky Star does a lot of parodying of other anime and has a more slice if life aspect, but both series are still incredibly similar. I'm pretty sure if you enjoyed one, you'd enjoy the other XD
Slice of Life, Comedy, Minami-ke is a great and very funny anime with epic characters! great art style, very similar to Lucky Star because of its Comedy. ;D
Both anime have no plot, because both are slice-of-life. The most important thing: they're hilarious
It has no story line, each episode is as random as a lucky star episode.
There is showed a lot of interesting in the common people's way of life. Also they both are too funny ((;
Both discuss the dailly lives of young group of girls
Both are slice of life following the everyday lives of girls.
They both portray the everyday life of girls They both are comedy's and they're both awesome
Well, both are slice-of-life stories that center simple day to day activities. Both are very entertaining and fun to watch.

The way they use other anime reference hidden or revealed in each episode.
Both are slice of life comedies that parody a lot of other animes, and there are even a few Lucky Star parodies in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Both Includes a lot of references of greats animes..So Funny
Both are School, Satire, Comedy making fun of Japanese culture. Lucky Star makes fun of the gaming and anime culture whilst Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei ridicules other psychological and social issues. ^_^
Both refer to otaku's culture.
Both anime feature strange and funny school girls, and both have a lot of cameo from other anime.
Although the humor is much darker in SZS, prepare for cute girls and EXTREME RANDOMNESS in both :]
Great humour which, unfortunately, is brought only to the chosen ones, who have watched either Lucky Star, or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Both shows take place mainly in the school grounds and have many similarities in the use of jokes. Also, the characters in both anime are strange and are not the typical ones you can expect from the average school related series. While Konata in Lucky Star is presented as a hardcore otaku with questionable morals, Itoshiki Nozomu from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has somehow weird understanding of very much ordinary things. Well, one's for sure - you won't get bored while watching either os these series!
Both share the genres of parody, school, and slice of life. There is no real story in either and filled with randomness. There is an evidence of uniqueness in both.
Anime/manga references hidden (or popping out in your face) in each episode, but SZS has a more darker art style. Most of their characters are females, and they're both funny. Both series also center their plot around high school students, including teachers and other side characters. Oh, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei sometimes add a little dark comedy in the mix.

They both parody or make references to other Animes in a comedic manner.
Well, both of them are a comedy-parody anime with references to other animes.
Does superfluous, crazy anime references make you burst out laughing? How about unexpected gags throughout the whole single episode? If you're up for it, expect the same for this anime.
Its similar in the way the episodes aren't exactly connected, and just plain hilarious. Its a comedy, I recommend it ^^
Both are very amusing comedy shows that make use of a number of anime references. So, if you're looking for the hilarious anime references seen in Lucky Star, then I suggest you watch Hayate no Gotoku!...
A series with just as many, if not more, references to other series, but with a coherent story of its own. Cross-cultural references are just as funny, if not even funnier.
In best cases both shows are quite funny and they make numerous references to other anime (sometimes even american entertainment) and overall otaku culture. Both have pretty good character set, which is wide and so anyone can pick their own favourite.
And last but certainly not least, both feature loudly yelling character Meito Anisawa who always saves the day, well at least mine. Ty Tomokazu Seki ^^
Both Animes use a lot of references to other Animes and such, are both pretty random, and are both Comedic.
Both series contain a lot of references to other anime/manga. The female leads in both series are huge otakus. Also both series are essentially about nothing, but both contain some great humor.
They're both filled with random crap, and they're not funny at all. There's also too much tsuntsun and no deredere.
They're both parody animes; both utilize moe like none other. Both star an otaku: nagi and konata; both have your stereotypical anime characters.

It's also a slice-of-life anime, and, of course, features cute lolis.
Both anime are quite similar to each other, in that they both deal with the everyday lives of a group of girls. Niether series has any large plot to follow, with each episode having a stand alone theme.
They're also both very funny in the way that they show the situations that the girls get into-such as going to the beach, what they do over school holidays, or thier school life.
Finally, each series has some random comedic moments thrown in which makes them both very likable.
Random, cute, group of girls.
Both Animes unite all these things.
The sense of humor is quite not everyones taste, but ifya like the style and you dont mind not havin a real plot these Animes are for you.
When I think of Lucky Star, I see ichigo mashimaro. Great humour, great characters, great songs.
Because its funny and cute ^^
-no Storyline
-totally random
-supercute an naive characters
there are similarities between some characters too...
example: Nobue Ith - Kagami Hiiragi
both of them are the maturest characters of the main staff and get nerved by the main character.
Slice of life, focuses on a group of girls, similar sort of nonsense that is somehow rather funny.
The two are both cute, hilariously funny, slice-of-life animes.
Another slice of life with girls and how they go with their day. Both very cute and very much like eatch other.

Well, I know that there is only one episode of Seitokai no Ichizon aired but... There are a lot of similar between this anime and Lucky Star. A lot of parodies, funny humor, just good slice of life elements
Cute girls and it parodies other anime.
When i saw the anime, I quickly thought "it's so much like Lucky Star", they both have anime parodies and no plot. :P lol, really fun to watch!
Seitokai no Ichizon are much inspired on lucky star. Both have a group of 4 main girls (In Seitokai no Ichizon plus a male in group), much anime parodies, mainly for suzumiya haruhi. School life and slice of life themes also.
Also, Seitokai no Ichizon parody lucky star.
MOE!
Cute girls in school comedy, the same sense of homour and a lot of parody.
Being a parody show, seitokai no ichizon is made with the full awareness of lucky star. The first episodes steals a few screens from lucky star as the show is fully expecting the viewers to cross over. To not have seen LS is to miss the very language of the show and its references.
These anime are both really random and they both have a lot references.
Both are parody and reference anime. The club thing isn't there, but its moe and loli all the same.

If you like Lucky Star, you have a high probablity of enjoying Hidamari Sketch.
Hidamari Sketch and Lucky ☆ Star both have this charm to them. They are extremely similar animes about teenage girls going to school. Animation is unique in both. If you liked Lucky ☆ Star you will most likely get into Hidamari Sketch, and the other way around too. =)
They are very similar. The characters are very funny and cute! You can match up the characters from Lucky Star and Hidamari Sketch by the way they behave.
Follow the everyday lives of 4 school girls as they make their way through High School pitfalls while living on their own. Excellent Slice of Life/Comedy with similar appeal to Luck Star.
Character personalities and style of story (pretty random) between Lucky Star and Hidamari Sketch are very alike.
In my eyes, Lucky Star is KyoAni's version of SHAFT's Hidamari Sketch. The main characters in both animes have similar personalities (the tomboyish Miyako is like Konata; Sae/Kagami; Hiro/Miyuki; Yuno/Tsukasa; and their sensei both act childish). Episodes consist of random but amusing talk about everyday life things and Japanese culture and an occasional reference to another anime (though unlike Hidamari, parody is one of the central themes in LS). Lucky Star was made specifically for the otaku and its pace is much more frantic than the laid back Hidamari. Nonetheless, when watching, you can’t help but notice that these two animes feel very much the same. Therefore, if you enjoyed one, you should like the other.
Similar to Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch is a slice-of-life comedy with four high school girls as main characters. While Hidamari Sketch has very few references to other animes, its calm, relaxing atmosphere and background music are perfect for winding oneself down at the end of the day.

Both depicts deeply in Japanese culture in both a humorous and true way.
A must watch!
Both animes deal with the topic of otakuness and subtopics like games, manga, anime itself, cosplay, soundtracks and what not. Genshiken can deal with the topics in a serious way, creating an ambiance of pride and what not, and Lucky Star derives the topic into a silly story of life, more for the sake of the viewers' laughter.
Lucky Star and Genshiken are different, yes. One series has a bunch of cute girls doing random and crazy day-to-day things, and the other has a cast of mostly unattractive guys trying to keep their anime, game and manga club up and running. But both these anime should be a treat for any otaku viewer. Both have a lot of references to anime, manga and video games. And both are pretty funny. Different types of anime, same type of otaku.
Both have a lot of humor, references to another animes, and otakus! =)
both are about otakus but have different styles, one is with cute females and the other with university students..mostly unatractive , genshiken has a plot but lucky star dosnt.both have great comedy
Genshiken is a more serious and realistic version of Lucky Star, although focusing on male characters. Both series deal with "Ero-games", although they are more "featured" in Genshiken.

COMEDY. Lots and lots of Japanese pop culture references in both. And there's also that one bit in Lucky Star that parodies Pani Poni Dash, and I'm sure that if Pani Poni was created after Lucky star it'd be the other way around.
In some ways, Lucky Star is a more subdued Pani Poni Dash. It is not nearly as off the wall and does not make even half as many references, but like PPD, Lucky Star is big on parody and features a cast of moe stereotypes.
A lot of references to Japanese and American culture (such as movies, anime, music etc) in both animes. Also, the animes are very random, and fun too watch.
A lot of references to anime & games.
Both are very fond of referencing other animes, so they're perfect for anime veterans ^^
|
|
|
Both have the same random, comical quality. Both are over-the-top and obnoxious. Both have the overly excited female main characters. Both make no sense. If you enjoyed one, you need to see the other.
Crazy Parodies ^^ (also, Lucky Star parodies Excel Saga once or twice xD)
Both just make fun of everything the writer(s) can get their hands on. Anime character, genres, culture are just made fun of.
Both are parody shows that make fun of everything.

"Manabi Straight" and "Lucky Star" both follow a new trend. Younger-looking girls (who are actually their age, but are intentionally made to look cute) in a High School setting. While both shows are focused on High School ups and downs, "Straight" is more focused on the challenges of running a Student Council and "Lucky Star" focuses on most aspects of High School in Japan. Aya Hirano also does a voice work in both shows.
trying to resist the cuteness and the chibiness is futile. gakuen utopia manabi straight is like a slightly futurist version of lucky star.
Think of as a less random, more dramatic Lucky Star that's just as funny and amps up the cuteness.
|
|
|
Both are adaptations of four-panel manga, both are produced by Kyoto Animation and both have a similar "chibi" art style.
Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuuutsu's like a hybrid of Lucky Star and Suzumiya Haruhi
Both are Chibi. Lucky Star is only Chibi in specific scenario's, though. They are also both about a group of teens going through comedic scenario's.
It's both funny & cute and have the same personalities. The Genres are both slice of life and comedy, although i have to say Haruhi ONA was much more fun to watch.

|
|
Both have otakus as main characters
Both series have female lead characters who are obsessed with anime, manga and otaku culture.
both have female otakus as main characters :3
Both stories tell about otaku's (anime & manga freak) lifes..
But, @ NogiHaru love-comedy genre also added, and the story more complicated than Lucky Star, very romantic, I think..
|
|
|
Character personalities and style of story (pretty random) between Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch and Hyakko are very alike.
Four schoolgirls and various quirky friends. Both involve decent plays on school-life anime cliches. Hyakko's humor is somewhat weaker (but less random), and lacks Lucky Star's otaku elements.
Both Anime Are About School Girls Comedy. A Feiw Of Them Also Share The Same Personality. It's Fun Just Watch And You'll Know It.

Many parallels could be drawn between these 2 series:
-Based on 4 panel strips.
-The art styles, while not identical, remind me very much of each other.
-Both school/slice of life, obviously.
-Extensive cast of supporting characters.
-Lead character (Konata/Sunao) living with their single father, mother deceased.
Unlike Lucky Star, however, Potemayo mostly steers clear of blatant Japanese pop-culture/anime/video game/internet references, does not have such a female dominated cast, and has an added fantasy/wierd element to it.
both are about school life, both are very funny, and both animes have cute character designs.
Slice of life awesomeness although one of the two is completely underrated.
|
|
|
Both series have a similar sense of humor. Both also make many references to different aspects of Japanese culture through the different seasons.
Both have four lead female characters following their daily life with comedy, except that Bottle Fairy focus mostly in girls imagination. Even thought Bottle Fairy can be more akward.
Cute charas talking about Japan's culture & common sense.
|
|
|
Both are plot-less slice-of-life comedy shows with plenty of laughs and pop culture references.
Both are school life Animes with tons of comedy scenes and references / parodies to other Animes. Also, some characters are similar: Sonsuke and konata are the main and are fanatics for their tastes. Chidori and Kagami are those who disapprove the attitudes of the protagonist and Tsubaki and Meito Anisawa are hot blooded losers.

|
Lovely Complex is a fantastic slice of life anime.
Filled with great comedy dialogue and great romance anime.
MUST WATCH !
Both are cute school days comedies that have to do with friendship and love through out high school.
|
|
|
Both are comedies about the lead girl accessively loving anime and all things related to anime, and both are incredibly funny if you like that kind of thing ^^
Both are about a group of school girls that do comical things. The main character for both shows is a self proclaimed Otaku. Penguin Musume's main character however is also incredibly rich, which often makes things even more funny.

Yamamoto Yutaka, the director of this anime was also the director of Lucky Star(ep 1 - 4). and u can find Kannagi's style is very similar to that of Lucky Star.
Both have different anime studios but the two has great similarities in animation and craziness. Lucky Star is completely random while Kannagi has a plot to follow. Lucky Star just reminded me of Kannagi because of the animation. If you want another taste of fluid animation like Lucky Star's, Kannagi's a great try. and yes, Yutaka Yamamoto... if you know what I mean.

|
the art, character design, animation are quite similar. GA gave me the impression I first got from Lucky Star. Both are also abt school life, however, GA is more concerned with art while Lucky Star is abt random slice of life in every episode.
Both are comedies with school friends. They don't have expanded threads, preferably are collection of mini-stories.
|
|
|
Comedy story Silect of life but lucky star About girl
and chi"s sweet home It"s about cat but all It"s cute anime ^_^
they both eats your brain)))
and they are very funny)
and stupid)

Those two anime are really smiliar. First off, it's based about random events and does not exactly have a story line. Lucky Star has alot of random events when Magical Pokan has two (random) stories in one episode. The characters are very funny in their own way and there's also four main girls. The only difference between them is the magic used in Magical Pokaan, magical characters and magical events which you don't find in Lucky Star. Lucky Star is about high school girls who enjoy their (otaku) life and how they spend time with each other. Though I'm sure you'll enjoy this one if you enjoyed the other.
Both of these anime have cute characters, humour, and pure plotless fun.
The only difference is that Lucky Star deals with everyday people while Magipoka has magical creatures in it. So if you're ever tired and just want something mindless to watch, go for it!
|
|
|
Kind of obvious, both are based on 4komas, deal with the daily life of a group of girls, and both are funny as hell. Only diferrence is Lucky Star is really random while Dojin Work has a story.
Originally four-panel comics, both series had successfully endured their transition from paper to screen and maintained the original, inventive, quick LOLs and giggles that were typically found within said comics.
The humor, clearly evident within both, is there. You are not.
|
|
|
Both anime's are full of comedy and make you laugh at its really weird randomness, also they both show life of highschool students in a funny way. One might show more about love than the other but they both do excelent parodies of other anime's and movies. xD
Both are school, comedy, slice of life anime great for pure entertainment and tons of laughter.
|
|
|
A lot of references of Keroro in Lucky Star.
They also use the real voices of the characters, and they appear as dolls and figurines in the serie.
The show is also humoristic, and sometimes it's as random as Keroro.
They come from the same distribution company, hence there are Keroro Gunso parodies throughout! It's very humerous and you will understand Lucky Star's parodies of it if you watch Keroro Gunso.
|
|
|
Both are random, cute/funny, and take place in present-day Japan. Anyone who enjoys Konata's (Lucky Star) jokes will probably enjoy Shin-chan's crazy antics, and vice versa. The art style of both series is cartoony and unique. Both series have been very successful and well-recieved by anime fans.
|
|
|
Both depicting everyday life in 20th century setting of several high-school girls. Both presenting charming characters in their own unique behavior and attributes.
Both encompassing smart talks, funny events, and family friendship atmosphere throughout the series.
Both never showing overly dramatic, but amazingly entertaining with high re-watch value. If you watch Minami-ke Okaeri and like it, you'll like Lucky Star, and vice-versa.
|
|
|
There are very similar aspects. Lucky Star is mainly about girls who attend school together, and Special A is usually located at school and about people who attend school together.
|
|
|
The main character of Anime Tenchou is a cameo in the Lucky Star series. He's pretty much the "action" of Lucky Star.
|
|
|
Both shows are about kids in high school and has very little of a "true" plot. Doki Doki involves the males in high school more so than Lcuky Star, which basically focuses on just the girls. Overall, they both have no real story behind them and are good to watch if you just want a light laugh.
|
|
|
they both have strong female characters.
|
|
|
Plotwise, there is definitely no similiarity...
NONE at all. Seriously. None.
However, the animation style (ex. how the hair is drawn and amount of details) are both animated in the same simplistic, yet enjoyable manner. :D
Plus, both incorporate the "you gotta have blue/green/pink/purple/etc... hair" trope as well as the widespread of loli characters.
|
|
|
Both are pretty humourous and you never know what's gonna happen next. Also, a few voice actors are in both.
|
|
|
Zany humor bursting apart the anime scene. Lots of fun all around.
|
|
|
Both of them features girls who are... really good friends.
|
|
|
Both are based off of four panel omake comics in Japan. Lots of fun and lots of laughs ahead.
|
|
|
Randomness and cute girls X3
|
|
|
Good "slice of life" for otaku, Same jokes, same sketch-humor style, same things for otaku-fetishes...
|
|
|
It may seem a very weird recommendation, but if you like absurd humour, they definitely are a bit alike. It's cracky, for sure!
|
|
|
The Anime's genre is different, however I find many of main characters quite similiar in both of animes. (Kagami would be clannad's Kyou, Tsukasa=Ryou, Konata=Fuko). I can quite assure that if viewers enjoyed Lucky Star's Characters, they surely would enjoy/appreciate Clannad and It's Characters.
|
|
|
Both are funny random and obsessive over one thing or another. If u like Lucky Star then u will most likely like Kyouran Kazoku Nikki.
|
|
|
Lucky Star is a little but more silly but it's sorta like High school girls. It's about highschool girls doing crazy things too.
|
|
|
Both animes happen in the schools, and there're some funny stuff, which is some time really stupid. Some difference is that Most of lucky star character are girls, but Cromartie are boys. Lucky * Star also doesn't have golilars or robot likes Cromarties High School.
|
|
|
Its similar b/c it they both follow girls doing random stuff with no story line. They also follow cute girls as the main character... even the artwork slightly resemble each other (with ALOT of in-animate simple artwork)
|
|
|
Random³ - Schoolgirls - Comedy
|
|
|
Both of them are talk shows with alot of Japanese pop culture references.
|
|
|
Both series have lots of humor, are mainly about girls and have not many guys in it.
Both series don't really have a plot either.
Though the scene is different (the galaxy <-> high school), the series are quite alike!!
|
|
|
They both have Aya Hirano in.
|
|
|
Although their audience is set to be different (Lucky Star is mainly for otakus, Gintama is more for the general public), Gintama comes with as much, or more, anime references, randomness, and comedy as Lucky Star. However, as this contains some seriousness and almost none or absolutely no "moe," to those that watch Lucky Star for the "moe," that's not what you will get from this.
|
|
|
An anime comedy involving high school girls
|
|
|
School-life genre. Just the same and with lotsa comedy scenes too.
|
|
|
These are both weird and random anime. And both the main girls are funny and stuff. Also parodies other anime.
|
|
